Rating: Summary: SIMPLY THE BEST SMOKIN' COMEDY EVER! Review: Cheech and Chong invented it and Chris Tucker, Ice Cube, DEBOW, MOMA, and the gang carry on that legacy. I've seen this movie easily over 100 times and through the entire thing, you can literaly laugh out loud every 10-20 seconds and in most scenes every 5 seconds! Constant fun, baked or not!.. There is only ONE FRIDAY AND THIS IS IT!...
Rating: Summary: Funny Funny Funny Review: This is my second most favorite movie behind Coming to America. Enough said.
Rating: Summary: Great B movie. Review: Friday is a great movie and belive it or not it is a cheap B movie. It is funny with Ice Cube who plays more of a serious part while Chris Tucker plays his stoned friend. This movie is about a teenager (Ice Cube) named Craig who loses his job for stealing something from the buisness on Thursday and gets into a whole lot of trouble on Friday like helping the neighborhood crook try to steal from their rich neighbor, get high for the first time and finally fight like a man. There is also another big problem in this movie, Smokey (Chris Tucker) must pay back a drug dealing ice cream man called Big Worm for drug's that Smokey said he would sell but instead ended up smoking it.Well, I can't tell you what happens at the end but Big Worm is a part of a drive-by.Just see this movie.
Rating: Summary: F®!D@Y Review: It seems like most movies take place over a period of no more than a few days, but a movie set to less than 24 hours might seem like a stretch. With "Friday" you get a movie dealing with subjects like drive-by shootings and domestic violence, and though all this is clumped in one day it still remained light enough to laugh with.Ice Cube stars as Craig a young man who was fired the day before from his job. With nothing to do he and friend Smokey (Chris Tucker) hang out, but Smokey owes local drug dealer Big Worm (Faizon Love) two hundred dollars. The two try to raise the money but find that more difficult than it should be. First, I should say that my plot description doesn't make "Friday" sound like much. The thing is that the movie is basically about the two main characters hanging out, and yet the story written by Ice Cube and hip-hop producer DJ Pooh (Who also stars as Red) is able to keep the film moving nicely. What's really impressive is that the two characters didn't go out to create the stories action, instead they sat back and waited for things to happen. Though some of these events were fairly serious often they were handled with enough enjoyable humor that it's hard not to laugh. As a rapper Ice Cube has shown that he has a lot of charisma, and that came through in his Craig character. Here was a character that started off weak in the way he was written, but once he hit his front porch became very likeable. It was Chris Tucker that stole the show though. You want to talk about charisma watch him do simple things like try to stop his car from rolling, or disagree with the local pastor, or even just squat to go to the bathroom. Where the script might have come off as very immature doing these things, because of Tucker's comic talent these were hilarious to watch. "Friday" was definitely not a perfect movie. A lot of the gags weren't funny, and the characters were annoying at times. Also, it did seem to drag at times proving a few minutes should have been cut. This movie should not have been as good as it is and yet, the script and characters made "Friday" a very good day.
Rating: Summary: Fun movie, great for alughs Review: Friday is not necessarily the greatest movie but it is funny as hell! I really don't think that Oscar winning performances were sought out in this one, I think that everyone in this movie was looking to entertain people and make people laugh and undeniably, that was done! I've never laughed so hard in my life. A lot of people (when this movie came out) compared it to a "black version of Beavis and Butthead" and honestly, YOU COULDN'T BE ANYMORE WRONG!! Ice Cube stars as Craig, who just got fired from his job and has nothing to do on a Friday and he doesn't know what to do because he's so broke. His friend Smokey (Chris Tucker), comes over and shows him how good and simple and fun it can be to just hang with your friends, "spend ... on something and just kick back and enjoy your surroundings. Every which way, Cube and Tucker find ways to make you laugh around every corner. O.k. for some people, this movie might make you mad because there is a lot of drug referrences in this movie along with a lot of swearing and for some people, the N word is used and that may offend some people. Honestly, I really don't think it should be all that offensive to anyone because, it's not like it was used outside of being a term of endearment between a couple of friends in this movie. I would suggest FRIDAY to anyone who has a good sense of humor because it'll make you laugh and that's what really counts in this movie. Again, great movie for a few laughs!
Rating: Summary: Not funny and very boring Review: I invited three of my friends over to watch this and all three of them left half-way through the movie it was so bad. The dialouge is awful and the story is boring. Just because people sit around doing nothing in real life doesn't mean it's interesting to watch. Only hardcore Ice Cube fans will like this movie. If you want to see a good Ice Cube movie watch Anaconda.
Rating: Summary: Possibly The Greatest Movie I Have Ever Seen!!! Review: This is probably the best movie I have seen in my entire life.I watch this movie more than any other movie. The most memorable scene is probably the part where the pastor goes to Ice Cube's house. It is the best part of the movie. If you have never seen this movie, crawl out of that rock that you are living under and see this movie. It is a classic. Peace Out.
Rating: Summary: Possibly greatest comedy ever! Review: This movie is brilliant. The big break of Chris Tucker, "Friday" is a hilarious movie that you will be left quoting and re-enacting for years to come. I'm laughing just thinking about it!
Rating: Summary: A comedic snapshot of the neighborhood Review: "Friday" takes you through a day in the life of Craig, played by Ice Cube, and Smokey, played by Chris Tucker. From the front porch, we see the everyday of their neighborhood through their eyes. The movie is funny, with a few serious themes covered. There are more than a couple of themes covered in the movie. Probably the two most important are drug use (mostly marijuana) and violence. The smoking is not really frowned upon in the movie. What is frowned upon is the escalation of violence, which seems to be directly linked to the smoking. Smokey sells for "Big Worm," by smokes most of the product rather than selling it. As a result, Smokey has put his life in danger. Craig, now linked to his friend, is succumbing to the pressure and has a firearm. There is a serious, yet slightly comedic, talk from his father explaining that using the gun is cowardice. A man would use his fists, and a man will not be afraid to take a beating. This is a funny movie. The writing of this movie is much better than the sequel.
