Rating: Summary: Happy "SUBWAY" Gilmore (Subway sandwiches) Review: Have you(SUBWAY)ever seen a movie(SUBWAY)that beats you over the head(SUBWAY)with it's product placement(SUBWAY) more than this one?(SUBWAY) The director/producer made no attempts to even be subtle(SUBWAY) about it. It was blatantly obvious, forced and jarring(SUBWAY) to the story flow.(SUBWAY) Even worse than the Coneheads(SUBWAY) movie. (SUBWAY)
Rating: Summary: One of the funniest movies I have seen. Review: Adam Sandler is a fantastic actor. Funny and Intelegant. Adam Sandler is #1 in my books and one of my top favorite actors. Keep up the good work adam, by making people laugh their head off. The reason why I said one is because he doesn't have the body like Courtney Cox does.
Rating: Summary: Good Sandler Vehicle Review: Adam Sandler is an enigma to me. I'm not sure if he's the next Jim Carrey or the next Paulie Shore. I wasn't particularly a fan of his work on "Saturday Night Live"(actually, the only character I remember him for is the annoying Opera-man). That said I thoroughly enjoyed "Happy Gilmore". What's not to like about a movie that concerns itself with a failed hockey player who turns to golf to save grandma's house and save her from the retirement home and get rich and famous and the pretty girl in the process? The scenes with Sandler and Bob Barker are classic. Ben Stiller also turns up in an amusing turn as an attendant at grandma's retirement home. Not on the level of "Caddyshack" but not bad.
Rating: Summary: Adam Sandler is so funny! Review: Adam Sandler must just be the funniest guy ever. I was laughing outloud for the whole movie, and don't usually like films of the genre. It was great to watch it on DVD too, because we could watch our favorite parts over and over again with no problem.
Rating: Summary: You'll never watch golf the same way again Review: Adam Sandler stars as aspiring hockey star Happy Gilmore, the guy with an amazing slapshot that just can't seem to keep his feet while on his skates. Very much against his will, Happy abandons his hockey dreams to join the pro golf tour in order to earn the money to repurchase his grandmother's house from the IRS. In the meantime, his sweet elderly grandmother gets to spend some quality time in a nursing home/sweat shop run by a demonic orderly (Ben Stiller). Now the only thing standing between Happy and getting the money he needs, the beautiful lady (Julie Bowen), winning the masters, and a successful golfing career is the fact that... well... he can't golf. Compounding his misery is the fact that he's also blessed with a horrific temper, and a vocabulary that would make a sailor blush. His growing pains and the ensuing drama make for one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. One of the biggest highlights of the movie has to be the fist fight between Happy and gameshow host Bob Barker, but the entire movie is nonstop laughs. Of note is that there is definitely some language/violence to the movie, so the easily offended should avoid "Happy Gilmore", and pretty much any Adam Sandler movie in general, but no fears... I'm sure disney has released something appropriately fluffy for you. If you like great comedy though, or have any understanding of golf (or any sense of humor at all for that matter), than "Happy Gilmore" will be a thoroughly enjoyable experience for you.
Rating: Summary: Needs to also Have a Widscreen DVD! Not Just Pan and Scan!!! Review: Happy Gilmore is a very funny movie and one of my favorite Adam Sandler movies! One question I have is how come you can watch a trailer for Happy Gilmore on the Billy Madison DVD and the trailer is shown in widescreen but they opted to use the cropped pan and scan format for Happy Gilmore on it's own DVD? That is my only complaint about this DVD and if a widescreen DVD ever becomes available I will buy it and either sell trade or give away or my pan and scan DVD!
Rating: Summary: Great comedy, not so great DVD Review: Happy Gilmore is one of Adam Sandler's best comedies. I can watch it over and over. The only complaint about the DVD format is that they didn't bother to offer a widescreen format.
Rating: Summary: ... Review: Happy Gilmore is one of the FUNNIEST movies I've everseen.Youdon't have to be really smart to understand the jokes in this one, nor do you have to worry about being embarressed if you watch this with a parent. Happy Gilmore is just laugh out loud funny. Adam Sandler stars as a golfer who just couldn't make it as a hockey player, due to a short fuse. After joining the pro-golf tour due to his dynamite driving abilities, he meets up with former-golfer, Chubbs. Chubbs helps calm Adam down and set him on his way towards winning money to pay the IRS for his grandmas house and beating... enemy, Shooter McGavin. Add in a beautiful girl, and you get one funny, well-told movie. Although the jokes may be juvinile, you can't help but laugh...
Rating: Summary: A fantastic feel-good comedy Review: Happy Gilmore is the eponymous story of a wannabe ice hockey star. The one thing that stands in his way...his inability to ice skate. As well as this failure, his favourite (and only) grandmother's home is about to be reposessed. But he has the option to save it if he gives up his dream and wins the golf tournament (because although he cannot ice skate he is an excellent shot). So begins his life as golf champion with hysterical consequences. It IS a predictable feel good movie but a brilliant one at that and Ben Stiller makes a fantastic evil orderly at the old peoples home Gilmore's grandma has to stay in. The scenes where Sandler has to restrain himself on the golf course are comedy classics. If you liked Adam Sandler in 'The Wedding Singer' you will love him in this. Don't expect critically acclaimed acting, cinematography or plot -it is just a comedy... but it's brilliant at it!
Rating: Summary: the funniest movie ever Review: i just couldn't stop laughing.it was so funny.i won't tell you the stroybut i will tell you it is a must see comdey.
