Summary: Please don't watch this movie...
Review: ...

Perry plays a down-on-his luck process server who hits his latest victim
with divorce papers from her rich husband. She convinces him to tear up
the papers and serve her husband instead with the process of a million
dollars of the settlement. Naturally, since he wants to be sensitive and
open a vinyard, Perry agrees.

The plot was a waste of time. The movie wasn't funny. The chemistry
between Perry and Elizabeth Hurley is non-existent. Don't watch this [movie]!!

Summary: You know, I've never really watched "Friends"...
Review: ...so that's why I didn't know who Matthew Perry is. I know who Elizabeth Hurley is, of course, from her modelling and her much-publicized romance with Hugh Grant.

That's why I kept saying to myself, "What a seedy-looking guy; why did he get this job?" And that's also why I found the budding romance between Liz and him somewhat unbelievable, because she's a radiantly beautiful woman, and he looked like a disheveled Bill Murray knock-off. Minor point, I guess.

For a movie I knew nothing about until it started rolling, "Serving Sara" is pretty funny. The plot hinges on serving divorce papers, and how where such papers are served will alter the outcome of a divorce settlement. Perry serves Hurley these papers in NYC; when he mentions that had she served her husband first in Texas (where they had been living) her setttlement would have been a heck of a lot bigger, she convinces him to go with her to Texas to serve her husband after all for a reward of a million dollars. Complication? There's a rival paper server determined to nail Hurley before Perry can get to the millionaire hubby. Situational comedy after that.

Someone compared this to "Something about Mary", but I wouldn't agree with that. "Mary" did indeed center on politically incorrect grossout humor, whereas "Sara" doesn't have an overabundance of that, though there is a gross scene centering on an impotent bull(the action was then taking place on a cattle ranch).

The best thing about the movie was Liz Hurley, to whom I hadn't devoted much thought before. In manner, she is much like Jackie Bisset and in fact she bears some resemblance to her. She's a competent actress and I'd enjoy seeing her again in something. Perry? No. This first time will suffice for all time. Not that he was a bad actor or comedian, but I don't find him anything special.

So, you won't serve yourself wrong to see this amusing little picture, but I wouldn't expect the earth to shake or anything.

Summary: Servicing Sara
Review: A process server (Matthew Perry) is convinced by a woman (Elizabeth Hurley) to serve divorce papers to her husband, who lives in Texas, and the duo promptly embarks on a road trip from New York City to the Lone Star State to find him. On their adventure together, the server starts to fall for his companion.

Matthew is one of the world's funniest stars and Lizzy is one of the world's hottest women

Summary: Loved it
Review: Even though a lot of people probably wrote some bad reviews about this movie, my opinion was that it was funny, for the most part original, and I definitely respect Matthew Perry for trying out a different character than the one he has on Friends and had on other movies. Elizabeth Hurley is also a great actress! The two make a good match in this movie. Try also if you are a Matthew Perry fan:
Fools Rush In
Three to Tango
The Whole Nine Yards
The Friends Seasons

Summary: A destined rip roarin comedy
Review: From the trailer that I saw for "Serving Sara" I do plan to check this baby out. Major plus Liz Hurley. I enjoyed her so much in "Bedazzled" w/ Brendan Fraser and her stint in the Austin Powers that I predict that "Serving Sara" will defintely serve the goods...

Summary: Charming, witty, but not the best!
Review: Hurley is a great actress as she proved to be in "Bedazzled". Both Hurley and Perry are great comedians (As you would see Perry to be in Friends). And so you would expect a superb comedy. Well the film was pretty amusing but not the best. You would probably be upset if you were expecting a 5-star comedy since two great comedians are in it. Hurley was funny as usual. Perry (unlike his performance in Friends) was much to be talked about. His acting was good but it wasn't his best work. The story is pretty clever! Still I really loved it but a lot of others didn't. Perry played a sarcastic charmer while Hurley was a sweet sexy brunette.

The movie revolves around Perry, a deliverer whom Hurley instantly falls in love with. It was Love at first sight. The movie has everything from a tough divorce to a battle for cash made in a farm. It's a romantic comedy revolving around Hurley who is getting divorced and must compete with her unpleasant ex.

If you enjoyed "Bedazzled", "The whole nine yards", "Fools rush in" and "Dave" you might enjoy this. I appreciated it! It's something for both Hurley and Perry fans.

Summary: The funniest romantic comedy of 2002!
Review: I am a big fan of Matthew Perry's acting and humor and I love Liz Hurley just for the heck of her being beautiful so I had to see this movie. I really enjoyed everything about this movie. the movie was basically about Perry who is a process server who is sent to serve papers to Hurley. The two end up falling in love. Typical love story, but it has a cuteness to it! I recommend this movie to everyone, but to those who have a widescreen tv watch out, the DVD's video quality really [stinks]! This is the fall of DVD quality. First it was Universal, now its Paramount. COME ON PEOPLE! Make good DVDs, jeez!

Summary: Serving...
Review: I cannot believe anyone could have found this turdfest funny or even interesting. This was one of the many, many examples of a waste of film and talent, well film anyway. First off it starts with one of those dubious legal things that seems to apply on TV and in the movies but I doubt has much chance of happening in the real world. It seems one has to serve divorce papers in person and if the servee can avoid the server, then the divorce isn't legal or something. This is cause for all manner of whacky hyjinx where someone is outrunning or hiding from someone with papers. I guess one could stay married forever if they can outrun the server. I think this is from a page of movie law like "double jeopardy," you can shoot your husband in broad daylight and it's legal, yeah...right. Of course we are treated to lots of goofy characters in New York (where Sarah is to be served) dumb Italians, a black man who resembles Don King etc. Soon the...plot thickens and we are down in Texas for some Texas sized stereotypes. Stetsons, cowpies and guns...oh my. This film expects us to believe that experienced ranch hands will think that a British women and a New Yorker driving a rented car are veterinarians "we forgot out equipment" they say, oh yeah and the bull needs help making little bulls so someone has to [help]....Ha ha ha. At least the bull had fun. This was one of those films where you truly feel sorry for everyone involved, especial Liz Hurley, she's pretty but lets face it, she's a little long in the tooth to be running around in a Daisy Duke, Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader get up that Jennifer Love Hewtett wouldn't be caught dead in, and flashing her [breats] (from the rear) for a free motel room. For this lame story to work everyone had to be a complete moron, even in the end it seems the bad guys can't tell time allowing out heroes to save the day by going into a monster truck rally. No, I'm not kidding. My list of the 10 worst for 2002 has grown by one.
