Rating: Summary: I loved this movie because he acts like a idiot....... Review: Finally, Adam sandler went back to being goofy like in Billy Madison and The WaterBoy. Let me start off by saying that if you are expecting a serious comedy like The Wedding Singer or Big Daddy( which werent too bad by the way!) you'll be dissapointed(who wants to see Adam Sandler in another movie like that anyways?). Basically, what makes this movie great is the main ingrediants: Goofy character, good music, and a stupid story that makes sense.Little Nicky has good jokes, cameos, and Popeyes Chicken( they play the part of being Nickys fav food).I don't want to spoil it for any one, so do yourself a favor and buy it. Go sell Big Daddy for 15 dollars(the dvd)and buy Little Nicky.
Rating: Summary: trust sandler, he will always be the king of comedy Review: when this movie was coming out and the previews were on tv, i wasnt to impressed. in the early days it was sandler's snl performances and the previews that sold me. but in this case it was pure reliance on my trust in adam. he has become my favorite comedian in movies and his movies always rule. ive seen them all in the theater at least once and own them all. the day this one came out i went to see it and laughed histarically.it seems strange at first with all of the special fx and huge scenes. its not your typical story about a slacker goofball who gets in a crazy situation and makes a fool of himself for an hour and a half. its a movie about the son of satan trying to save earth from his two evil brothers before they take it over. the first few jokes didnt settle perfectly but after a few minutes i adapted to this different style. im glad i did because this movie was hilarious. the cameos definetely add to this movie. youll see many from henry winkler to reese witherspoon to ozzy osbourne to rodney dangerfield to all of sandlers friends who always appear in his movies and albums. thats only a few of the famous faces youll see in this movie. the silliness is definetely back from the departure of wedding singer and big daddy, so the hardcore fans definetely wont be disappointed. though it doesnt beat billy madison or big daddy, little nicky is without a doubt a great addition to my sandler library and if you call yourself a fan or love silly comedies you should definetely check this out now!
Rating: Summary: Wow, I was impressed it made it the theater Review: Well, aside from the entire row in front of me(12 people) abandoning the movie, there wasn't much else that seemed memorable about this film. It ripped off Waterboy, with bit parts by Henry Winkler, and the 'you can do it' guy and seemed incapable of letting Adam Sandler make a single joke... It's one of those movies I left scratching my head thinking why? If you like bad, overdone, in your face product placement and seeing Adam Sandler generally just walk around and be pathetic, then maybe you'll like this one. It didn't hurt, but it sure didn't seem like a comedy. Story 2 stars, comedy no stars...
Rating: Summary: A Little Disappointing Review: First off, i give this film 3 stars only because i wanted to like it so much, and in turn it did sucker some laughing out of me. But overall this film is a real departure for Sandler. The film takes a much darker note with Sandler being the son of Satan. The film wants to be genuinely funny, but ultimately very few laughs come across. What is actually funny in this movie is not always the big jokes. Most of the big gags just come across as flat because we have all seen much better Adam Sandler movies. The real laughs come at the small, subtle jokes that they did not try and force onto us. This film had unlimited potential. So much could be done with having frat boy favorite Sandler be the son of Satan, but instead of being creative the film creators tried to go for the jokes that they thought would be sure things. The truth is that the people want new jokes, hence no one laughing at the things that had too much set up. There are a lot of star cameos, most of them too brief to be remembered. One main problem with this film is the character of Nicky. He has a speech impediment and "weird" hair. What was the point of both of these. The film would have been funnier if he was just a normal guy that was forced to live in Hell. I guess this is a way to give Sandler something to do during the movie. The thing he truly should have done was to try a little harder to make us laugh.
Rating: Summary: Great! Review: I for one thought "Big Daddy" misfired on a number of levels, especially because it tried to be too serious. Having said this, I'm glad that Adam got back to his fundamentals. I agree that Sandler's bread-and-butter is definitely his random silliness. So when I first saw the previews for "Little Nicky",I was happy to see that the silliness was obviously back! Although it may look like a cheesy premise, and the "Nicky" character could easily irritate people, this movie will not disappoint. I had to beg and beg for 2 weeks in order to find someone who'd actually be caught in the theater seeing it, and they ended up loving it too! As long as you go into this movie with no expectations other than to have a good time, then you will for sure thoroughly enjoy yourself!! LOADED with cameos, cuties like Rosanna Arquette and Reese Witherspoon, and laughs galore, this is the complete Sandler package!!! And there's even the requisite bathroom humor! Who'd a thought?????
Rating: Summary: Little Nicky Comes Up Big Review: Little Nicky may be the funniest movie to come out in 2000. Stylistically it is a great departure from the "typical Sandler flick" in that it is not as focused in on Sandler as Billy Madison or Happy Gilmore for example. Instead Little Nicky relies upon a good script and excellent performances by supporting characters. Cameos are given by Dana Carvey, Ozzy Osbourne, and Kevin Nealon among others. Sandler may not be the total focus of the humor in this movie, but it still registers big laughs!
Rating: Summary: Pretty Dumb, But His Funniest Yet Review: I remember the first Adam Sandler movie I saw, it was Happy Gilmore. I had heard about it from some friends and bought it right away. I had no idea who Adam Sandler was and was a little too young to get all the humor, but Sandler has a charm that makes you want to watch him again and again. So as I got older, the movie finally made me laugh harder and harder. And from then on, every Sandler movie I saw, like the Waterboy and Big Daddy, I would laugh until I peed in my pants. And then as I got to be even older, I finally could seperate the dumb movies from the not-so-dumb. Big Daddy was probably the most serious movie I've seen him do. But even if they were dumb, I still liked them, and I still do, as long as I laugh very hard. When I saw the preview for little Nicky, I thought it looked pretty dumb, but Adam Sandler was in it. So I went to go see it the first day it came out. No suprises, this movie made me laugh extremely hard. I think that the idea was to make this the biggest Adam Sandler movie, because there are characters from other Sandler films. Farmer Fran plays some wierd goat/human creature in Hell, the Quarterback from the Waterboy is a religious cult guy, Chubbs is the dance instructer in heaven doing the "It's all in the hips, yeah!" And other people from his other movies are in it too. All in all, this movie was very funny and had a lot of unexpected jokes. I recomend this movie to anybody who likes dumb comedies and die-hard Sandler fans.
Rating: Summary: Adam Sandler is getting better Review: Adam Sandler is at his funniest when he's left to his own device. I started to watch his movies ever since "Happy Gilmore". Whilst his previous offerings were more youth oriented, I have the feeling that this movie was catering more for the "older" generations. The gags on Chicago (the rock band of the yesteryear), cameo appearances by Founzi, Ozzie Osbourne (for a very valid reason), the black dude who played Rocky's best friend who got killed by Dolph Lundgren in one of the sequel, the 2 Devil worshipping ageing long hair dudes (reminding me of those 2 characters from Wayne's World), need I say more? I went to watch this movie with my cousins who are the so-called X Generation & they couldn't quite get the gags when people of my age giggled or laughed profusely. The only way you could enjoy this movie is lay back & don't take this movie seriously. When does Adam Sandler take himself seriously, eh? Normally, I would expect this genre of movie to be 2 dimensional but to my amazement, there are actually twists here to make it commendable. Highly recommended if you want to laugh your heads off. I wish I could have a bull dog like THAT~~
Rating: Summary: Not as good as his others. Review: I want to laugh out loud at every Adam Sandler flick, but this one just didn't do it for me. Not that it was bad. Unlike his other movies, which I would classify as "hilarious", this one only rates an "amusing". This movie gave me the impression that it was done simply for a chance to do Hitler jokes and have Sandler dabble a little with magic. It also seemed to be a big excuse to have all of Sandler's friends join him in a movie. There are actors from all of his previous films in this one. Not that that's a bad thing. I just think it could have benefited from some better writing. The jokes weren't that funny and the characters were a little annoying at times. Enough with the bad. On to the good. The characters that inhabited this film were unique and brilliantly played. The two wannabe Satan worshippers practically made the film. I think the high point of the whole film was the scene at the end with Ozzy Osborne. It was great! All in all, an amusing movie, but not one of Sandler's better ones. The only one that this one beats is GOING OVERBOARD (whatever you do, stay away from that one!).
Rating: Summary: Laugh till your eyes pop out!!! Review: That was one of the funniest films I have ever seen. apart from the fact that it has a shocking story line and the it is not the most sophisticated of Humor it made me laugh and laugh.
