Summary: Not even worth renting
Review: I rented the dvd of this movie, It's supposed to be a comedy, unfortunately, I couldn't even laugh one time at anyone of the jokes.

After just 10 minutes I decided to 4x/8x speed through the movie to get it over with.

This was the worst spending of my time in a very long time.

Review: Big budget film with tons of Laughs!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Watch this only if you want to laugh until you cry
Review: Rat Race is the kind of movie you should watch when all you want to do is laugh. If you want to compare it to a Mad Mad Mad Mad World, you'll be disappointed, because it has little in common with that classic movie other the fact that the characters are in a race, with no rules, worth millions of dollars to the winner. There is plenty of slap-stick comedy, sight-gags, word plays, etc., but there there is also a number of well played gags that take their time to develop, but have a payoff well worth the wait. There are plenty of reviews that speak of what the movie fails to do, but few that warn you about having to pause the DVD at times to allow yourself time to recover from side-splitting laughter so you don't miss the next gag. The storyline is simple and serves little more than the stage for comedic talent, but the series of laughs will leave you worn out from laughing. If you want to watch the movie as a critic, don't waste your time. If you want to laugh until you cry, then there are few films I can recommend so highly.

Summary: The Funniest Movie That I've Ever Seen
Review: Well done! This is probably the funniest movie that I have ever seen in my life. As the competitors race for the two million dollars, they encounter every problem imaginable that could slow them down. This movie is a brilliant masterpiece and is worthy of recognition. It is well written, well performed, very holistically oriented, and is tied together as so. Everything seems to fall into place just at the right times in this movie. It's almost magical. Plus, it's so funny that you'll get pains from laughing so hard. Overall, everyone involved in the movie did a terrific job and should be commended for this hilarious production.

Summary: It's a good, good, good, good revision.
Review: I enjoyed "Rat Race" so much I saw it twice in its theatrical release. At the time, I wasn't sure why. Then I realized it was out of sheer curiosity- curiosity to see if its creative team would actually, *literally,* remake the legendary all-star extravaganza from 1963 with all the MADs in its title. As it turned out, they did not. Zucker and company keep the fortune-hunting plot point from the original film, but basically change everything else- from the reason the principals are brought together in the first place (a special jackpot from a Vegas casino instead of a dying thief's giveaway) to the film's finish (giving the money to a charity concert instead of losing it off the roof of a dilapidated building). My opinion may not be in the majority, but I came to realize that I liked and actually preferred this film's more upbeat, positive, ending than the all-for-nothing bitter life lesson ending in MAD4 (which, ironically, is a genius comedy for most of its 155 minutes, only to become very heavy towards the end with no one winning the cash and all ending up in a booby-hatch type emergency ward. What fun.). As far as this film's own merit goes, director Jerry Zucker should've given credit where credit is due. Unless I'm sorely mistaken, there is no acknowledgement or recognition of the MAD4 predecessor in the credits or even in the DVD's often funny documentary. That's a no-no, and it made me minus one star from the DVD.

Summary: Slapstick Heaven
Review: I peed on myself about 7 times. I love the old slapstick that eludes the majority of films today. There is plenty of room for the mysteries, science fiction, love stories, biographies, horror and action, but this movie just tickles my soul. I watch it over and over and laugh out loud everytime. If you need a good old belly laugh, stick this movie in the DVD or the VHS and wait for someone you know or are related to, to appear.
