Rating: Summary: Surprise ! Review: Have you ever been forced to watch a movie with a friend? I have to say I am glad I was forced to watch this movie with my roommate one night. I kept thinking to myself, an updated Cannonball Run...etc (Yuck)... HOWEVER... It is way better than that!! After the race starts in this movie, so do the laughs, I swear this movie has some of the funniest moments I have seen in a long, long time. Do yourself a favor and purchase this movie if you are desiring a few good laughs. Almost every scene in this movie is a laugh riot (The Klaus Barbi Museum, the Helicopter sequence, the closing of the airport, the Lucy bus, The Squirrel lady, etc..etc..) The Race itself is not important nor the outcome, fun to watch!
Rating: Summary: O.K. ensemble comedy. Review: When I first saw this movie, I thought it was quite funny and very original. Upon subsequent viewings, however, it "got old quickly" and was almost boring--mostly due to the over-the-top acting by the cast.Kathy Bates is wonderful, though! There are some really funny moments on this dvd and it's worth a look.
Rating: Summary: it's a race, its a race, I hope I win!!! Review: crank it, spank it and smack it on the bingbong, this movie is filled with hilarity from great stars. the line up includes John Cleese(Monty Python and The Holy Grail), Jon Lovitz(North) and his wife Kathy Najimy(Tv's Veronicas Closet), Seth Green(tv's Buffy The Vampire Slayer) and his tounge piereced brother Vince Vieluf(Grind). Cuba Gooding Jr.(Radio and Boat Trip), Wayne Knight(Jurassic Park), Rowan Atkinson(Bean), Whoopi Goldberg(tv's Whoopi) and her daughter Lanai Chapman. Breckin Meyer(Dancer,Texas Pop 81.) and his new girl Amy Smart(Road Trip). Dean Cain(Future Sport). Dave Thomas(2003's Brother Bear). and the band Smashmouth, who fill this comedy with its class and memorable moments including all of Seth Green and Vince Vieluf's bits, they are funny as hell and the part where Jon Lovitz drives the hitler mobile into a WWII veterans camp and looks like Hitler as he comes to the podium and slurs his speech after being burnt in teh tounge by a car cigarette lighter, just uproarous. you dont want to miss this one
Rating: Summary: Laugh-out-loud funny movie! Review: I caught part of this movie on TV and bought the video to see the rest. I was not disappointed! It is hilarious without being disgusting (except for the prairie doggin' thing). An eccentric hotelier picks a random group of gamblers to set out for a handsome prize. The 'rats' have all sorts of crazy adventures during the 'race' - a bus full of Lucille Ball look-alikes, a ride in Hitler's car and I laughed until I cried during the airport tower scene. Seth Green and Vince Vieluf are so funny as the bumbling brothers included in the race The rest of the cast is like a who's who of comedic actors: Kathy Najimy, Jon Lovitz, John Cleese, Dave Thomas, Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean), Wayne Knight ("Newman" on Seinfeld) and Kathy Bates in a bit part as 'the Squirrel Lady'. Also totally adorable is Breckin Meyer!!
I have watched this movie over and over and it is still funny. The blooper reel included will make your sides hurt!
Rating: Summary: Hilarious Review: OK, so I saw this in theaters expecting an average comedy film just to kill my time, right? Well I was pleasantly surprised. In fact, this is one of the few films I watched in theaters and hoped would never end, simply because I was enjoying myself so much! The plot is similar to that in "Its a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" but I would say I definately like this film better. For one, its not as long, and two, its a lot more hilarious. I nearly fell out of my chair at the "World War II Veterans" scene. Its well acted by all, and its timing and humor is great. I would suggest this for every one, it'll definately put a smile on your face.
Rating: Summary: the funnist movie ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: this is the funnist movie ever!! you must see it. I love this movie. i love rowan atkinson any movie with rowan is hilarous.!!!!!!!! THIS MOVIES SO FUNNY.
Rating: Summary: THE Funniest Movie I Have Ever Seen in a VERY Long Time Review: This movie so freaken funny! The nonstop goofiness and antics of morons and everything else. It's just one of those movies that make you roll all over the floor and wet yourself. The movie can take the dumbest and most simple things and make them VERY funny. Now, there aren't really a lot of movies out there that are actually that funny. They say they are and stuff on there ads, but they just make you chuckle a few times. But, this movie, oh, now this movie, is funny. You'd have to see it. I don't think FUNNY is enough. I HIGHLY recommend this movie!
Rating: Summary: Excellent! Good fun and humor, weak ending Review: I watched Jerry Zucker's movie Airplane the other night (which was a spoof of Zero Hour, with Dana Andrews) and had already read some of the reviews here of his movie Rat Race, and so I bought it and viewed it last night.
I'm a great fan of Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean and The Thin Blue Line), and to a somewhat lesser extent John Cleese (Fawlty Towers, etc.). I thought each of them turned in less than their best performances here, but both were still very good. Whoopi Goldberg was her usual self, and the others gave good performances as well. Altogether, it was entertaining and funny--especially the antics of the two brothers, the actors of whom I didn't recognize, and the girl with the helicopter buzzing her unfaithful boyfriend. Absolutely hilarious. I recommend this one for sheer fun. The ending was weak, I thought--kind of a Hollywood "feed the world" message thing--but it didn't detract from the fun. Joseph (Joe) Pierre

Rating: Summary: 10 star Modern day classic Review: Having grown up loving the classics It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World with an array of well known comics and actors/actresses, we stumbled across this gem on a cable movie channel and fell in love with it, and needed to own a copy. The nice thing about the movie is it is dang funny, and on the edge without the vulgar language that so many modern comedies have. All the actors-actresses are excellent as is the dialogue, scenery and plot. If you are a fan of Rowan Atkinson (Mr Bean or Blackadder) or John Cleese,Whoopi Goldberg, Cuba Gooding Jr or Jon Lovitz and Kathy Najimy who play a husband and wife you will LOVE this movie.
My favorites are the Jon Lovitz and Kathy Najimy who play a husband and wife with 2 kids. I is one of the funniest we have ever seen. Their kids wanting to visit the "Barbie" museum which turns out for this Jewish couple to be the Klaus Barbie of Hitler fame museum and results in a quick get away in a car once owned by Hitler with swastika flags and all. You will laugh so dang hard. I laugh just thinking about their performances. Then the whole Kathy Bates ... The Squirrel Lady and Whoopu Goldberg and the whole break the land speed record segment is a riot. Cuba Gooding Jr. ... Owen Templeton and the whole bus load of Lucys look alikes headed for a Lucy convention will have you laughing so hard. There is also a naughty but not vulgar scene with the two young guys, (one has piercing) and the two girls in the car where the one girl Tristin Leffler (Pierced Girl) shows the one guy driving that she has more piercings than him and he drives the car off the road and into a hilarious segment that will have the Nascar and trucker fans busting a gutt. The nice thing is the ending .... not at all what one expects.
