Review: This movie always comes first to mind when we've had a rough day and just want to laugh. It's just one silly situation after another.

Summary: Sickening
Review: This is a a discusting vulgar movie. I cannot beleive a talented actor like John Cleese would lower himself to such a low life role. Pure trash!! A sad rip off of Mad Mad Mad world. The fact that so many Americans like it shows what low lifes Americans are.

Summary: Hilarious
Review: The start credits of movies never really say much about the films themselves. The credits are normally really boring, with just the cast & crew, in plain writing. And usually, with nothing interesting happening in the background, or the film starting, so you don't even read the credits.

Rat Race is totally different. As soon as the credits start, you sit up and take notice. It has little characters alongside the actors and the characters dance and move about the screen. So you take notice of the characters, notice which actor is playing that character, and you also recognise which character is which.

To start with, you get introduced to all the characters, going about their business. I recognised a lot of the faces - apart from the obvious like Whoopi Goldberg & John Cleese. Jon Lovitz has been in Friends (here I go), and was great in this. I also recognised one of the nuns from Sister Act, and Dean Cain, who I had a huge secret crush on when I was young - oops, that's the cat out of the bag! There were some faces that I recognised that I couldn't put a name to, including Vince Vieluf, who looked so familiar! After getting him mixed up with Seth Green, I eventually found him online, and it turns out he was in Friends too! Cuba Gooding Jnr was great in this, and you get a few nice topless scenes, mmmm!

Rowan Atkinson is also terrific, acting out the foreigner part to a T. I still find it strange to watch him, and hear him at the same time, after growing up with him playing the silent part in Mr. Bean.

Everything in this film that could have possibly gone wrong, did go wrong, and it was hilarious to watch. There's some very strange scenes with cows, the animal kind, and a girl (Amy Smart) getting revenge on her cheating boyfriend - Dean Cain, who was also topless! (I half expected Teri Hatcher to jump out any second.)

The finale of this film is fantastic, and definitely finishes the film perfectly. You end up singing along, and the crowd surfing scene is a little weird, but terrific.

The extras are your basic extras. You get a lot for your money, but there's not a lot of imagination put into it. The best ones were the gag reel and the outtakes. The rest aren't really worth your time watching.

I ended up being surprised at how great this movie was. It throws you into the action almost straight away, although it's a bit predictable that none of them will get the $2 million dollars. Definitely a must see, for great laughs. Just make sure you're not drinking at the time, cos you'll end up choking & spitting it out!

Summary: Very Funny
Review: Comedies are often at their best when you have a lot of funny actors playing cameo roles and contrasting their different styles of humour. Rat Race is one of the best examples of this I've seen in years and it boasts a great all-star cast to carry things off. The formula is simple: pit an eclectic bunch of misfits against each other in a race with no rules. This has been done before in 'it's a mad mad world' among others, but this movie loses nothing and the simple premise works well. In this case the characters are racing cross-country for a 2 million dollar prize. Some of the humour is fairly basic slapstick while other parts are more adult. Overall, there are plenty of laughs for everyone as crazier and crazier things happen. Although Amy Smart is stunning as a neurotic helicopter pilot, she seems a bit miscast in this role (particularly when she starts going ballistic at her cheating boyfriend), and this would be my only criticism. Comedy is a very subjective thing, but for me this one is worth watching more than once.

Review: With John Cleese, you'd think it would be hilarious, but it's a waste of time. Get Life Of Brian or The Meaning Of Life for TRUE comedy.

Summary: You Should Have Bought A Squirrel!
Review: The first time I encountered this movie was only in passing on my cable TV. I was busy doing something else but the movie also kept distracting me and every scene that I would catch would make me laugh. I vowed that I would catch it when it was replayed. Hours later when it was repeated, I sat down and watched the movie in it's entirety and I laughed until I hurt! I loved the film for it's gags and it's surprises. I hadn't seen a movie like this in a long, long time. I would highly recommend buying this movie if you love screw-ball comedies or just comedies in general. And always.....always remember if you encounter a slightly insane woman along side of the road peddling squirrels, know this: she takes her squirrels very seriously and you should probably buy one.

Summary: Shockingly UNfunny
Review: One of the most disappointing movies I've ever wasted a couple hours of my life on. I love Cleese and Atkinson; however, I wish I could have that time which I wasted on this movie back.

Summary: No, that's a caramel apple!
Review: The antics and slapstick comedy was absolutely, side-splittingly, frickin' hilarious! I had trouble breathing, afterwards, because I laughed so hard. All the greats like Lovits and Gleese and Atkinson made this film one of the greatest comedies I've ever seen.
