Summary: Worthless director commentary of a 5-star comedy!
Review: Having seen the movie a zillion times, I purchased the DVD almost solely for the director's commentary track. It was beyond awful. Shadyac hems and haws and rambles about his other films while obvious viewer questions go begging. Very disappointing.

Review: I don't think I've ever laughed sp hard in a movie theater before in my life. That's something that I just don't do much of. This movie changed that. Now, this kind of comedy is an acquired taste. Not everyone is going to get it or appreciate it or the brilliant talent of Jim Carrey. Calling it stupid is not bashing the movie, it's only praising it. Get it?. Carrey stars as a pet detective hired by pre - "Friends" star Courteney Cox to find who stole the local football team's mascot. Sean Young is in on the fun as the police captain. It takes real smarts and talent to do what Jim Carrey does. It's not just acting goofy and silly. Some people don't get things. This is an uproarious film. If your in a bad mood or funk or whatever, and you need your sppirits lifted with ridiculous laughs, then you can't go wrong with this movie.

Review: this movie is the best. i like the part when he comes out of the tank and says he is the dolphin trainer. the reporters were like where is snowflake? ace was like why do you care about snowflake? do you know him? does he call you at home? do you have a dorsal fin? to train the dolphin you must think like a dolphin and communicate. i go okokokok and he goes okok. which sends him up on the tail, eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Review: Ace Ventura is so hilarious he makes me laugh like I'm being tickled for an hour and a half! You have to see this because Carrey it is a wonderful actor for slapstick! Evn if you can't stand him, which I find hard to believe, you will still find the movie hilarious! He is so funny with his jokes like, "If I'm not back in five minutes...just wait longer!", and "Hello Satan! Oh I'm sorry, I must have mistaken you for someone else!" You gotta see this now! Even if you've seen it hundred times already!

Summary: Clever, but just not funny enough!
Review: Slapstick comedian Jim Carrey flaunts his comedic skills in this continously slapstick story about a pet detective solving a dolphin-napping case, along with the Miami Dolphins' publicist (Courteney Cox). Pretty good gags and some genuine laughs, but this somehow just doesn't take off with the funniness, just using bodily and crude humor to make this, but Lieutenant Einhorn (Sean Young) produces some laughs along with Carrey.This movie is worth it if you like Carrey's comedic approaches and his naked butt, but this is sometimes painful to watch. Rated PG-13 for language, crude humor, and brief nudity.

Review: This was an earlier Jim Carrey movie, and I have to say, it's definitely hilarious in some parts. It isn't the best Jim Carrey movie I've seen (it's close though). The DVD is OK in the features but the movie itself is worth owning. If you want a good time or just want to laugh it up this is the movie for you.
