Summary: fun
Review: Bought a big home, fixing it up and disaster ensues for the rest of the film, all of it is funny and you feel sympathy for them because all they want is to have a nice, normal home. Rent it and enjoy. I think it teaches us never to do home repairs with the spouse.

Summary: Excellent Movie!
Review: This is a great film, as I've seen it numerous times and it keeps getting funnier every single time I see it. I'm a big Tom Hanks fan, but I would like to see him more films such as this one where he can showcase his comedic talents. I highly recommend this film!

Summary: Truly a hysterical movie
Review: Even if nothing else in this movie were good, the scene where the bathtub crashes through the floor and Tom Hanks' ensuing reaction of maniacal disbelieving laughter (he honestly must have hurt himself laughing like that) makes the entire movie worthwhile. Even though I haven't seen this movie in awhile, just thinking of that scene makes me laugh. As an added bonus, the rest of the movie is great too. I'd rate the scene with Shelley Long and the raccoon as a good runner-up for funniest scene. There are so many others though... one of my favorites was really an audio-only scene. The frazzled couple had turned the lights off after a somber discussion of marital fidelity and Tom Hanks roars at Shelley Long in the dark, "You WHORE!" His inflection is perfect and that line just always makes me laugh. Don't miss out on this priceless comedy if you haven't seen it yet.

Summary: Absolutely Great!
Review: One of the best screwball comedy/romance movies of the last 20 years. Finally on DVD after a long standing dispute with its famous director.

Shelly Long gives what is likely the best performace of her career, she actually carries Tom Hanks, who also puts in a good performance.

People who dont like this movie seem to take it too seriously, not expecting screwball gags from the likes of Hanks and Long. Once you embrace this movie for what it is, every moment is pure comic genius.

Summary: How? Why? Insane?
Review: How can critics bash this movie? I was going through a box of old video tapes and found this movie, which I have not seen in years and it just struck me again... I literally toppledover and couldn't stop laughing. The Money Pit is missunderstood to be a horrible movie by critics alike, however, they are so wrong.

I miss this version of Tom Hanks. He ALWAYS used to be in comedies and had a special nack for them. I mean, let's face it, when that scene came up where the bathub shattered all over the floor beneath him and he looked at for a second or two, coming to the realization of what just happened and then he starts laughing.... I seriously nearly died of laughter. Not only that, but when he accidently hit his thumb with the hammer and his reaction to the pain.... hilarious.

Anyway, DO NOT listen to the critics! This movie is on TV frequently. If you catch it, sit down, watch it, and have a good laugh!

Summary: A Truly Funny Movie
Review: Go ahead and buy this one. The movie is an absolute riot. Anyone who has ever looked at a home improvement project and thought, "piece of cake", will probably need to wear Depends while watching this movie.

There are so many great lines in this movie that they just keep cropping up in my life. All I need to say to my wife is, "maybe a little dinner, some dancing, that's it" and she's on the floor.

There is one "conflict" scene that I think the movie could've done without, but what do I know, I'm only a viewer. But it does give a setup for a great plasterer line.

If you have "weak trees", bad plumbing, or any of a plethora of other home adventures you will enjoy this movie.

Recommended with absolutely no reservations.

Summary: 91 Minutes of Fun!
Review: This movie is just fun. No, it didn't win any awards, but if you just want to sit and watch a light-hearted film with great laughs, this is it! My wife starts laughing at the opening credits. Of course if you have owned a money pit it probably helps. If the stairs, tub, carpet, and scaffolding scenes don't make you double over and fight for breath - you may be in need of CPR. After viewing this you will never hear the phrase "two weeks" again without smiling. This is a peak into the greatness that would come from Hanks. ENJOY!

Review: An Underrated Classic comedy about two people in love and their attempts at making an old, decrepit house into their dream home.
This is a movie that all homeowners will be able to relate to. And, it's a terrific fun-time movie for the whole family.
