Summary: A fun farce about funny cops!!!...
Review: I liked this movie. I rented it and I thought it was funny.
I just bought it today on DVD. The DVD has good features and the front looks neat. I think the acting is good.

Summary: Off-beat comedy
Review: I had watched a number of banal comedies lately, so I wasn't exactly eager to watch yet another one, when "Super Troopers" was recommended to me.

I was expecting yet another "Airplane" type comedy--and I never found that series funny at all, but I was pleasantly surprised by this film. The plot revolves around a Highway Patrol station that may be closed due to budget cuts. The station captain (well played by Brian Cox) tries to inspire his men to increase the number of tickets they give to motorists--the idea being, of course, that if they SHOW they're needed, perhaps the station--and the jobs--won't come under the axe. Unfortunately, the highway patrol officers are REALLY out of control--they can't be inspired except to engage in more madness and mayhem on the stretch of highway they are supposed to patrol. In a bond of "mutual boredom," the officers have devised a number of games and tricks they play with any hapless motorist who has the misfortune of attracting their attention. Throw into this anarchy a German S&M couple, a drug ring, an unsolved murder, rival police officers, and a noisy pig--and you have a good evening's entertainment ahead of you.

Summary: Extremely Baffled !
Review: I'll take my beatings later by other reviewers (especially those raving this farce a "5 star winner" or" the best comedy they have ever seen in their entire life")...But for now, I am still trying to understand what was so hilarious about this poor excuse of a comedy ??? I saw this with a group of friends who highly enjoy comedies (ranging from the clean stuff to the purely outrageous and raunchy) as well and only 1 out of 6 liked this heap!

It starts to take on a very humorous tone with the punks getting busted by the troopers and then having their minds skewered with while under the influene but the rest of the gags are just...well, irritatingly stupid ! The comical acting was very bad. Also, it is utterly insulting for the Monty Python camp to be compared to this( that was real comedy). After so many years after the Police Academy series you would think cop comedies by today's film making standards would have improved. Super Troopers made Police Academy look like Academy Award material ! The real sad clincher is seeing an actress like Linda Carter (Wonder Woman) make a painful to watch cameo. Don't get me wrong, Linda is still a fine actress and a gorgeous woman ! But when you see someone that has been missing from the spotlight for awhile you begin to wonder if they took the role out of desperation or what. The whole time I felt like I was watching a comedy 101 filmmaking class instructional video ...

My final word is Super Troopers is neither super nor a trooper ! Stay away from this rubbish and use the dvd as a coaster...

Summary: hilarious
Review: This movie is hilarious! There are scenes I watch over again just because they're so funny. If you're into hilarious comedy, get this movie! There's a small plot (not a huge one) but the comedy is awesome!

Summary: Mostly Positive but Uneven
Review: "Super Troopers" stars the members of a comedy troupe known as Broken Lizard as Vermont state highway cops. The guys form a small detachment near the Canadian border. Since they only have a small stretch of highway to patrol, the fellas have to invent new ways to torment the drivers they stop in order to amuse themselves.

Added to their boredom is the running threat that their unit will be disbanded due to decreased funding and poor performance. To top it all off, the state cops have a running feud with the local cops who would love nothing better than to have the state guys leave so they can take over their highway territory and increase their state funds.

"Super Troopers" has a definite skit feel to it. While there is the obligatory movie plot to work through, as with most comedy troupes, Broken Lizard has written the movie as just an excuse to due a series of comedy routines interspersed within the movie's flow. It's as if two things are happening at once in this film. You have the actual movie going on and the other stuff. It's the other stuff that recommends this film.

As with any comedy troupe, not all members are equal. In "Super Troopers", the best lines were given to Steve Lemme, who played MacIntyre Womack, or just Mac. However, the best character was the rookie, Robert 'Rabbit' Roto, played by Erik Stolhanske.

The jokes in "Super Troopers" run the gamut from physical humor (Mac wearing nothing but a bullet-proof jock strap while being shot at with a pistol) to childish pranks (Foster (Paul Soter) seeing how many times he can say 'meow' to a motorist he's pulled over) to the ubiquitous display of bathroom humor.

"Super Troopers" is an uneven movie that scores more times than not but only scores big a few times. Sadly, the funniest part of the movie is probably the opening scene when Troopers Ramathorn (Jay Chandrasekhar) and Roto mess with the minds of some stoned teenagers. This is not the last laugh but it is the best.

Summary: Finally a funny movie
Review: I rented this movie thinking that it would be pretty stupid. Man, was I suprised. I laughed so hard for 90 minutes, it took another 90 to catch my breath. I went out and bought this movie the very next day and have watched probably too many times but it hasn't lost a thing. In a time where everyone is worried about being P.C., it's nice to see a truely funny movie. I am sure not everyone will like this but if you enjoy goofy slapstick type comedy, I would HIGHLY suggest this movie.

Summary: Highway Patrol
Review: I laughed so hard to this flick, I don't own it yet, but next payday I will! Twisted people... HERE IS ONE TO OWN!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Just plain hillarious
Review: As an aspiring police officer, people always give me a sideways look when I recommend this movie... but it is SO FUNNY! This film abandons all attempts at conforming to a normal plot. Instead, it rolls with the jokes so smoothly you'll find yourself repeating things like "meow" and "EVIL shananigans" around people who've never seen the movie (who, by the way, will think you've lost your mind).

This is NOT a family movie, however, so leave the little ones at home. Also, the first 20 minutes or so are a little dry, but hang in there because the rest of the movie more than makes up for it. One of the greatest things about this movie is that it gets funnier every time you see it. So go. Watch it again and again. If you don't like it, you're a "chicken ***!"

Summary: Extremely Funny
Review: I'm almost embarrassed to say that this is definitely one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. I'm not usually the kind of person who enjoys slapstick humor. But there's something about this movie that makes it work. The humor fits the movie. Unlike so many other movies when they try to be funny just for the heck of it. The entire movie is great. There isn't a dead spot in it. I guarantee you, you'll have a smile on your face from the drop dead hilarious opening scene, "I'm freakin' out man!", to the quite comical ending. This movie is loaded with one liners that you'll be saying for days. "Smells like sex in here. What have you two been doing?"

Summary: Takes Frat Humor to New Levels
Review: I normally don't go for the frat house humor comedies...I went to see this only because it was the first outing my husband and I had been on without our son in a year and the movie we wanted to see was sold out. Not wanting to waste precious babysitting time, we decided to see this movie on the recommendation from one of his coworkers. Neither of us had seen previews for it. Aren't we brave?

From the first scene through to the end, I laughed so hard, that my cheeks and my sides hurt.

For weeks, our conversations were peppered with "Trooper-isms".

Like another reviewer, I am a grown woman who appreciates good comedy, humor and wit. I found Super Troopers to be hilariously funny, not too overdone and with the budget they had, Broken Lizard produced the next cult classic.

I look forward to more movies from this group.
