Summary: Disappointing
Review: Honestly, I bought this DVD based on reading the reviews on this page. This movie was very disappointing and basically, not for me. Granted it probably was hilarious to a bunch of people but I wasn't one of them. I laughed out loud maybe two or three times and it was all in the first 10 minutes. Everything is down hill from there. They shouldn't have even bothered to have a plot in this movie. All in all, my advice to anyone looking to buy this is to rent it first.

Summary: The Funniest Movie from 2002
Review: I felt the same way most people did when this came out in the theater. I did not want to ever go see it, and did not believe my friends when they told me it was hilarious. Just a few weeks ago, they got the DVD and we watched it. Since then, I've watched it five times and still crack up at the jokes. If you do not have a sense of humor that appreciates outright stupidity, than don't get this movie, buy Gosford Park or something. This movie is downright hilarious and everyone I know who has seen it has not disagreed with me yet.

Summary: Not for cardboard cutout types
Review: If you're the type that finds Nathan Lane or the sit-com "Full House" funny, you can skip this flick and get yourself something like Mousetrap or any Billy Crystal movie. It's just not going to work out, and I don't mean to be offensive.
If you are "with it", however, I must say that Super Troopers is right up your alley. This is truly one of the comedic gems of the past decade. Broken Lizard are terrific and each member shines throughout the movie. One of the few DVDs that I've watched multiple times within the first week of ownership. I'm not surprised that this was not a mainstream success but I just hope that it was successful enough that we can see more from the Broken Lizard team.

Summary: Pranks, Goofs and Gags
Review: ... That may explain why I loved this movie so much the first time I saw it. The first time I saw it I was sober and it was in the theater, with my girl. But after watching all the pranks and gags and seeing all the goofball characters, I knew this was one to buy on DVD and watch in the comfort of my own home...

So, come Aug. 6th I ordered my shiny new copy of the Super Troopers DVD and Boy, was I right!

For those of you who haven't seen it, Super Troopers follows in the style of Animal House, Porky's and Police Academy. It's sort of an Animal House gets arrested by Police Academy actually. So, if you're into pure unadulturated entertainment without meaning, this is one for you. But there is a plot:

5 State Troopers, Thorny (the Indian, who everyone thinks is Mexican), Foster (a true Animal House reject), Soter (ditto), Rabbit (the rookie) and Farva (the angry and biligerent one that is stuck behind the radio) are patroling their stretch of highway on the border between Vermont and Canada. In the daily scheme of things they play games and gags on all the unsuspecting motorists who are lucky enough to be pulled over by them and get into heaps of laughs. Trouble is, they never solve any crimes or serve any tickets. Soon, they find out that their jobs are in danger. This doesn't change things much, until they decide to try and save their jobs by solving a murder/drug crime...

But that's as much as I can tell you. You're going to have to see the rest for yourself. Lots of fun and light humor about sex, drugs, racism, and of course, cops.

Summary: Super Looser
Review: I love comedy, especially when it comes to spoofing known agencies and corporations, etc. However, I hung my head in absolute shame for the guy that produced this inane piece of garbage. My mind reels at the thought that someone actually put up the money (and it couldn't have been much) to put this atrocity of comedy on film. The acting (if there was any) was pitiful right along with the lame jokes and god awful punch lines. I only rated this as one star as I couldn't find a lower rating. Stay away from this one.

Summary: My New Cult Classic
Review: I took my little brother to Super Troopers in the theater in the perfect state of mind - low expectations - which I highly recommend. I died laughing! Then I went again with a buddy and I died laughing again. I ended up seeing it again with him and his wife along with another couple and now it filters through random conversations we have. Lines like "I can't pull over any further...I'm already pulled over", "It smells like sex in here", "that little guy... I wouldn't worry about that little guy" and "I want a liter of cola" - totally crack us up. I bought the DVD the first day it came out (I only own one other DVD so this isn't a normal thing for me) and I've watched it again 3 times including last night, it's become one of those movies for me where I look forward to each scene and start laughing just thinking about it.

I'll have to say that I know a couple of people who saw Super Troopers and didn't like it. But I think it's more that they wouldn't like any movie in this "genre". So in my perspective - if you like Office Space, Caddyshack, Airplane, you'll be down with Super Troopers.

Summary: I refuse to take responsibility
Review: for renting this awful movie!!
I didn't laugh once in this moronic movie.
This is strictly for men between the ages of 17 and 23, or fans of "dude where's my car"...which could relatively be close to the same audience.
I am a grown woman who appreciates comedy, and this was not funny. It was poorly written and poorly acted. It could have at least been camp, but it wasn't even that.
It's just a total waste of film.

Stay away from this one!I don't recommend it at all. I'd recommend "Police Academy" over this, and i didn't even like that all that much.

Summary: pee your pants funny
Review: I live on an island and our movie theater doesn't get all the movies that are out. Heck I didn't even know about this movie until it came out on DVD. My friends and I had one more sleep over before school started. We were deciding what movies to get that same day I saw the commercial for it and found it hilarious. My friends also saw the commercial and wanted to see it too. Let me just say that we were laughing so badly I'm surprised one of our lungs didn't fly out. The beginning was especially funny. The cops are basically a bunch of guys who belong in a fraternity that I know of.
