Review: This film was the great swan song of the "big three monsters" at universal. Thank God Bela Lugosi player Dracula. I coundn't take another lame John Carradine potral of the blood thristy Count.If you want to find out what happened to our beloved monsters after the movie check out Jeff Rovins Return of the Wolfman a fine book that would have made a fine movie

Summary: BEST OF ABBOT & COSTELLO
Review: You take Abbot & Costello, then add Bela Lugosi (DRACULA) Lon Chaney Jr.(FRANKENSTEIN and WOLFMAN), and you have a wonderful Comedy Thriller that will stand for all time. Lou and Bud work in a Shipping Depot and are responsible for a Wax Museum's delivery of highly insured crates. But, before the insurance company can verify the safe arrival, the crates begin to open.

Summary: Can it get any worst; No!
Review: I really tried to like Abbott & Costello Meet Frankenstein VHS ~ Bud Abbott. However, the movie is not scary and definetely not funny. In fact, it is kind of stupid. Comedy even in its most base form should have a redeeming quality to it. In this case it is just plain stupid.

Summary: all time calssic comedy horror
Review: I grew up on this film...as a kid i was glued to channel 11 and 48 on the east coast just to watch abbott and costello. this was the film that had the greatest impact on me for wanting to write comedy/horror. abbott and costello are the definitive kings of slapstick humour. But hey if liked lon chaney jr as the werewolf and bela laguosi as dracula..then buy this film...there's even a voice cameo of vincent price. I just can't give enough praise for this wonderful film.

Summary: it might just be their best
Review: i havent seen "hold that ghost" or "little giant" in a long time, and i think "time of their lives" was a better film, but this is probably the funniest of all of bud & lou's movies.with great performances by lugosi and lon chaney, jr., there is the proper spirit of homage and sendup in this movie; unfortunately, its success seems to have launched the boys into an endless series of inferior "a & c meet..." flicks. do not be deceived by those; they range from adequate to dreadful, but this is the real thing. well deserving of its spot on the afi list of 100 comedies!

Summary: Kickin' Way to Call it Quits at Universal!
Review: This has to be the ultimate farewell to the monsters at Universal! I can't believe that I still don't have this one in my collection, but that will change. This film is also the best of the Abbott & Costello genre! Lou, at one point, replies to Talbot(who plays the character as he always did)"I'm a bit of a wolf myself!" The film is much like House of Frank & Drac as we get a smorgasbord of the 3 Universal Monsters(Drac,Wolf & Frank Monster!), but this also includes the wonderful antics of Bud and Lou. I am glad that Lugosi donned the cape to play the count for this one as that was also a fitting farewell to the genre of 2 Universal decades(I often wonder how audiences took to that after not seeing Lugosi in the Dracula role for 19 years on the big screen!), but they should have figured out a way to work the mummy in this one!

Summary: A great film for all to see!
Review: I loved the Universal Monsters and even in this movie as it is good to see them again at the end of a great period and also with the comedy mix of Abbott and Costello. This is my second favorite Abbott and Costello film next to Hold That Ghost! The kids will also love this one as Costello punches the wolfman in the nose! Enjoy!

Summary: Aging Monsters
Review: This is a good film in that it gives us almost a final glimpst of our aging monster hero's. Lugosi would die just 8 years later, but not before wearing the cape again in Ed Wood's Plan 9 from Outer Space (about 10 seconds worth). Lon Chaney Jr., who would not play the wolfman again, died in 1973. And Glenn Strange (the Frankenstein monster), the tall B Western movie actor, would also die in 1973, but not before playing Sam the bartender in the Gunsmoke TV series. Yep that's him. This is good fun stuff to watch. Play particular attention to one big miscue......Lugosi's reflection can be seen in a mirror as he bites the neck of one unfortunate damsel. Yes, he's human after all! ha

Summary: Abbott and Costello's Best
Review: ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN gave a real boost to the comedy team's film career; it's an excellent film and one of the boys' few true classics. A well crafted script provides plenty of laughs while allowing the monsters to play straight, which heightens the comedy. Bela Lugosi (Dracula), Lon Chaney, Jr. (The Wolfman), and Glenn Strange (The Monster) work well opposite Bud and Lou and approprately monstrous. Lenore Aubert is also quite good as Dracula's glamourous partner in crime.
