Summary: Not A Good Sequel
Review: Blues Brothers 2000 is a sad sequel to a wonderful film. If your a fan of the first, see this movie only for the music. I was disapointed in the quality of the script. Unlike the original, which had a tight script, Blue Brothers 2000's scripte lags and is weak. In my opinion they should have left out the kid, Buster, and Mighty Mac, and had Elwood, along w/ the band, try to get Cab to join up. The crashes where great and so was the way Elwood parked. I thought the ending, however, was too abrupt.

Summary: One of the best films, i've ever seen.
Review: Blues Brothers is a great movie and i watched it about 100 times. I thought the second part of this fantastic movie coulnd't be better, but i love it. When i was seeing BB 2000 the 1st time i was crying, because it was so funny. My girlfriend didn't understand that, i think she have seen BB1 only 1 time. I hope BB2000 will come on VHS in Germany soon.

Summary: Jammn' from beginning to end!
Review: John Landis and Dan Aykroyd did and excellent job bringing this film together. It was great to see "The Band" back together again. I was glad to see that they did not try to replace John Belushi in Blues Brothers 2000. The music covered all the traditional and contemporary music of today. The Ghost Riders scene caused goose bumps all over my body. Because of this I have purchased the soundtrack cd of the original Blues Brothers and the Blues Brothers 2000.

Summary: What a great follow up to the original Blues Brothers movie!
Review: I have been waiting for this to happen for many years. It is definitely not a second rate sequel. This movie has done what few have and that is improve on the first. The passing of John Belushi almost made this movie impossible, however the writers did a great job in taking this script to new hights. It is definitely one to add to your video collection!

Summary: PURE MUSIC !!! Lots of Fun !!
Review: This movie was a great sequel to the original Blues Brothers. It was of course, too difficult to replace John Belushi, so it was good to go another way, which was to just let the music EXPLODE and take over. All the cast did a great job- Enjoy it! PLAY IT LOUD ! I'm sorry I missed it in the theatre...

P.S. The new Oldsmobiles are in early this year.

Summary: The Ultimate must have for the Blues Brothers fan!
Review: As soon as I saw this, I said "I have to get a DVD player to see this." I did, and I am overly pleased with what I saw. This has extra footage in it from the VHS version. If you have watched the move about 100 times (Come on, admit it, you know you have!) you will appreciate all the little extra scenes and lengthier musical scenes in the movie. Also the "Making of the Blues Brothers" is awesome. Interviews with John Landis, Dan Aykroyd, and some of the band.. Its great..

Summary: With music this good, who needs a plot?
Review: The music and special effects are better than those in the original Blues Brothers movie, and the car crashes are even more ridiculous. I saw it in the theater with my ten year old son, and we both loved it. The musical gags are hilarious (Elwood dissing Blues Traveler, Johnny Lang working as a janitor for Wilson Picket and Eddie Floyd, and the discovery that the Blues Brothers' competition in the battle of the bands is an all superstar mega-group fronted by B.B. King and Eric Clapton).

I have only two criticisms. First, many of the musicians-turned-actors are stiff as boards in front of the camera. But in a way, this adds to the charm and authenticity of the movie. My other criticism is that the songs were obviously studio recorded and lip-synched. The trade-off is that the music sounds phenomenally good (and when you buy the sound track, as I did immediately after seeing the movie, you're getting exactly what you heard in the theater).

Summary: I LOVED this movie!Boo-hoo to all the critics. It was GREAT!
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I thought that bringing back the "old gang" was fantastic. The additional scenes were done well also. The cop chases were a little long, but that's not why I went to the movie. I wish there had been a little more jamming, but the song they selected was perfect for the jam. I also would have had the "enlightened" cop explain the kid's abduction to the nuns/police and have him "adopted" by Elwood (what better role model!). If you love the Blues or appreciated music in general, the movie is worth viewing just for that reason alone.

Summary: Same things that made the first a classic.
Review: I have to admit that dedicating this film to the late James Belushi, John Candy and Cab Calloway mede me receptive from the start. So many of the characters from the first movie were present that it felt like old times The music made me buy the CD the next day; all the while thinking - what a dream roll for a kid! Also, knowing that this second film was written at the same time as the first helped me feel it was just like old times. Also, while looking for the original on video, I discovered that once the movie was in production, many of the people in the final act had requested to be part of the film. Is there any greater tribute to Dan et. al.?

Summary: For blues lovers only
Review: If you are looking for a deep, well-written movie with provocative plot twists don't purchase Blues Brothers 2000. But if you are a B.B.King affectionato, if the Blues Travelers are your cup of tea and if you enjoy getting down for some straight, hard-driving blues this movie is for you.

It doesn't have much of a plot (about the same as the 1st Blues Brothers movie). It boasts what may be the biggest car crash scene ever recorded on movie film: over 60 new police cars flying through the air and slamming into each other. And some of the dialog is humorous. But I bought Blues Brothers 2000 for the Blues. The battle-of-the-bands scene is a down-and-dirty, solid Blues jam that everyone should see and hear. I guarentee you'll never see as a super-group like this again.

If you like hard-drivin' Blues, buy the DVD.
