Summary: *** BRONZEMEMBER ***
Review: So here it is the third instalment in one of the most popular and successful movie comedy franchises ever, Austin Powers in Goldmember, the follow up to the immensely popular and successful Spy Who Shagged Me. With Mike Myers reprising his role as writer/star, Beyonce Knowles as the new Powers girl and a cast which includes many of the biggest hitters in Hollywood, including Steven Spielberg, Tom Cruise, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kevin Spacey, John Travolta, Britney Spears, Danny Devito and Michael Caine (an inspired choice as Austin's father) this promised to be the funniest movie of the summer. However, rather than building upon The Spy Who Shagged Me, Goldmember is instead a collection of hit and miss sketches, several of which are pale imitations of his last movie, loosely connected into some kind of story.

Opening with an action-packed pre-credit James Bond like sequence, with cameos from many of Hollywood's biggest stars gets the movie off to a funny if somewhat irrelevant start, which is great if you like movies within movies, not so great if you don't. From there we get back into the real action with Dr Evil and Myer's latest character Goldmember (a Dutchman with a gold penis and bad skin, which he likes to eat) plotting once more to take over the world. So far so good you might think but herein one of the problems lies: the character Goldmember just isn't funny and is positively poor next to all of Mike Myers other characters, including a disappointingly under-used and very flatulent Fat Bastard who makes a welcome but all too brief return. There are some very funny visual and verbal gags of course and a few clever scenes that retrace Austin Powers and Dr Evil's childhoods but all in all there are just as many hits as misses and too many scenes that are obvious retreads of the previous movies most successful gags, such as the use of silhouettes, telling Sean to zip-it and the Jay-Z "It's A Hard Knock Life" routine. Okay so these scenes are still, to an extent, funny but nowhere near as funny as the first time you saw them.

As for the cast, Myer's is his usual brilliant comedic self, it's just that his self-penned lines are not as good as before. Verne Troyer is once again splendid as Mini Me and Destiny's child's Beyonce Knowles makes a sassy and sexy Foxy Cleopatra, whilst Seth Green (sporting a receding hairline) is quite fabulous as Dr Evil's son Sean. However, the star of the show in my view, is Michael Caine, with a marvellous comedic performance as Austin's father Nigel, delightfully sending up his Harry Palmer persona from the 1960's movies that first made him a star.

As for the movie as a whole, it is probably ideally suited to the DVD format more than any other movie out there, because on DVD you will be able to pick and choose which scenes you watch (and there are some very funny and very imaginative scenes). It is just that all n all you feel that you've seen it all before and seen it done better in the previous instalment. What is more the ending of the film suggests that not only is Mike Myers running out of new ideas for his spoof spy movies but that indeed it may be the end of this very profitable franchise. Still funny but not as funny as its predecessor: Three and a half stars.

Summary: "Goldmember" Infinifilm DVD worth its weight in Gold
Review: The minute you get the DVD , skip everything and go straight to the Deleted scenes . There was 15 scenes that ranks from soso to utterly funny like "book covers","idiot convention","More fooks","Hello Mahza,Hello Fahza","More Fahza","Dr evil has the con","Bad reaction to the sharks". Don't miss the "Musical Number"(which should follow after Austin and Nigel go separate ways but was not cut into the movie), after a few times the song is actually good and there is a funny scene with Goldmember.I enjoy those as much as the movie itself. Plus you get the commentary from Jay Roach and Myers. Music videos from Beyonce(Work it out),Britney(Boys),Ming Tea(Daddy wasn't there) and Dr Evil & Minime(Hard Knock Life). The trailers and other featurets were also included . The movie is presented in wide screen format .All in all a great package!

Summary: The absolute best movie ever!
Review: I went to see Goldmember opening day. IT WAS HILARIOUS! The audience laughed together and it was just awsome! I highly recommend you to watch this with fun loving family or friends. Mike Myers does an amazing job in this one. Lastly, it seems like its gonna be stuipd in the beginning, but it soon reveals that old warm Austin Powers humor in the greatist way immaginable. You'll find out what I mean when you buy the movie.

Summary: Come on people.....
Review: How are people bashing this movie? I personally, as well as MOST of the people I know, thought the first Austin Powers was horrible but the second was awesome. And then came Goldmember. Honestly folks, whether it has that been there, done that feel to it, this is one of the funniest movies that has ever been made. Yah, some of the jokes are rehashes, but that's what really makes the movie funny. Even the parts that were meant to be really stupid and not exactly funny, ahem, Scotty don't, were hilarious. Highly recommended to anyone that's looking for a movie that's easy to watch over and over again (I saw it 7 times in theaters, come on).

Summary: I Love Goolllldddd(member)!
Review: YEAH BABY!!!! Austin Powers is back, and as funny as ever. This movie features non-stop laughs that will have you rolling on the floor. I swear, what they said is right about how it has more laughs in one minute than some whole films (Zoolander!). Okay, I'll admit that the story is pretty nonexistant (there is some nonsense about a satellite and a meteor), but we don't go to Austin Powers movies for the plot, we go for the jokes, and this one has some killers. I especially enjoyed the opening credits scene with all the celebrity cameos. Dr. Evil (my hero) is funnier than ever, though its Mini-Me who really steals the show. Fat Bastard, while crude and gross, has his share of laughs. But we can't forget Austin himself, now with his father Nigel. Go see this movie if you want to laugh without having to use your brain for an hour and a half. You'll love it.

Summary: Goldmember
Review: Goldmember is definitely the funniest of the three Austin Powers features, but suffers from a badly written script. The actual plot isn't that bad (Austin's father is kidnapped by the evil Goldmember who has used a time machine to transport himself from 1975 to 2002 to wreck havoc on the world. And the small side story of Austin trying to connect with his 'Never There' father), but Mike Myers seemed to try and include most (If not all) of his great skits from the first two movies. The result is a movie that starts to seem like just a bunch of funny clips pilled together to make a movie.
But luckily new hilarious skits, and some still funny old ones save this film from becoming another one of Hollywood's horrible sequels.

As I said before, this is arguably the funniest of all the Austin powers movies.
All of the great characters from the first two are back; Mr. Evil, Mini-Me, Fat Bastard, Scott, Fral Farbisena (sorry if I spelled anything wrong. Ever try spelling Farbisena, it's hard), No. 2, and of course, Austin. A few new characters add to the movie; Goldmember is the best of these; a Dutch, skin flake eating, madman (oh, by the way; he really does have a goldmember). The other new character is Foxxy Cleopatra, played by Beyonce Knowles, is another great addition to the Powers family.

Over these past three Austin Powers movies, Mike Myers has shown the he is one of the funniest men alive ...

So overall, I would definitely say this movie is worth the 1½ hours of your time...

Summary: Yuck
Review: Okay, the jokes were fine and Biance was stunning, but the skin thing! icky, icky, icky. Im the sort that cannot stomach most toilet humor, and this is just as disgusting. I fell in love with Mike Myers and hope that the next one is much better. The father story is uninteresting, the "veird" joke is fun, but the movie lacked any memorable moments. Scott Evil was definatley my favorite part of the movie.

Would I recommend this one? Nope. I have the first two Austin Powers at home, and would rather watch them a hundred times than have to watch Goldmember again.

Summary: Is this really happening?
Review: I like the first Austin powers movie. The second is a little boring, and this, being the third, was very boring. I admit, the opening few minutes were nothing short of amazing. No reason to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but sadly, the movie is worth it for the few minutes of laughing at the begining. After this brief bit of humor, we begin the slow repetitive drains for Austin Powers 3. Most gags are re-runs of the other two films. Yes, there are new things, but I didn't find them funny. It seems as if Mike Myers, and who ever wrote this with him, had one night to turn in a script. Naturally, when your first movie is a dud and the sequel makes millions of dollors in the opening weekend, you make a third movie. But why make it to make money? Now they want to make a fourth even though they sort of closed ends with this one. It's sad that people like this movie. It lacked some real creativity and intelligence. Might be worth while for some, but I was bored with it.
