Summary: The Spy Who Came Back To Shag
Review: AUSTIN POWERS-INTERNATIONAL MAN OF MYSTERY is one of the funniest comedies in the last 10 years. Frozen in the 60s, famed superspy Powers, (Mike Myers) is defrosted back in action after an old enemy returns. The diabolical Dr. Evil (also played by Myers) plots to rule the world. In order to assimilate into a mondern world, Powers is teamed with the lovely Vanessa Kensington (Elzabeth Hurley), who is also a spy.

The movie is a hilarious spoof of the James Bond films. Myers in the double role is at his best--especially as Evil--and since he also wrote the script, the jokes are nothing short of inspired. Myers and director Jay Roach certainly know the subject matter that they are spoofing. It's laugh out loud lunacy from start to finish. You can tell that cast and crew had a great time making the film. Some of the best bits include the defrosting scene and anytime that Dr. Evil meets with his "posse"

The film can be watched in either the widescreen or full frame formats on the DVD. The extras are also a lot of fun. There are 7 deleted scenes, a good commentary track with Myers and Roach, Star Highlights, a cameo spotter menu, cast information, theatrical trailer, and music to shag to. All in all, a great disc, for a very funny comedy. Highly Recommended with a ****and a half star rating

Summary: The worst of SNL scattered across 2 hrs.
Review: I don't even know where to begin. Obviously, I didn't like the movie. Not for any plot point or story element. This was supposed to be a comedy, a goofball parody of James Bond spy-films. I understand that, and as I sat down to watch it I kept that firmly in mind. I wasn't looking for anything cerebral, I was just hoping to enjoy myself and have a good time.

It was just so...so unfunny.

'Austin Powers' have about three different types of jokes; Jokes that are bad and fall flat, jokes that are bad, fall flat and are repeated, and finally jokes that are bad, fall flat and are repeated several times more. This film had all the worst of SNL, including the shows credo of 'Run that joke into the ground'. All the gags and jokes were so telegraphed, so obvious and lame. Not a single bit of thought or wit could be traced anywhere in the script. I just can't get why people found this funny. I thought the 60's theme was fun and some of the cameo's were cute, but Mike Myers has this look on this face everytime he tells a joke, like 'I know I'm so funny'. I remember the same look from kids in my high school drama class. How sad.

Oh well. 'Austin Powers' has a fan following, and far be it from me to question why it's so popular. But please, don't try and tell me this is funny.

Summary: THROW ME A BONE HERE PEOPLE!
Review: THIS MOVIE IS SO FUNNY. I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE OF LAUGHTER WHEN AUSTIN POWERS(Mike Myers) AND SOME COWBOY GUY WERE IN THE BATHROOM AT A CASINO IN LAS VEGAS AND THEY BOTH SAT DOWN ON TWO SEPERATE TOLIETS AND OVER TOP OF AUSTIN'S HEAD WAS ONE OF DR. EVIL'S WORKERS WITH HIS LUCKY-CHARM BRACLET AND WAS CHOKING AUSTIN AND THE COWBOY GUY THOUGHT AUSTIN WAS TRYING HARD TO GO TO THE BATHROOM AND WHEN THEY BOTH CAME OUT THE COWBOY GUY SAYS "HOLEY SMOKES BOY! WHAT DID YOU EAT?"

I'M A BIG FAN OF FROUW FARBISONA'S LOUD REMARKS SUCH AS "SCOTT!" WHEN SHE INTRODUCES DR. EVIL TO HIS SON SCOTT EVIL.

MY SISTER, AND I LOVE MR. BIGGLESWORTH(DR. EVIL'S CAT).

THIS MOVIE IS SO FUNNY - I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE "AUSTIN POWERS IN GOLD MEMBER" - I'LL TELL YOU ABOUT THAT LATER.

Summary: Mike Meyers Is Extremely Talented!
Review: Austin Powers: International Man Of Mystery is a film that you can only enjoy if you are prepared to have a great time and accept everything you are going to see as a fun experience.

Mike Meyers is a creative genius. He has comic timing, clever wit and a talents surplus of hidden personalities (with voices) inside him. They must have had a great time making this. The story is relatively simple - Dr. Evil (also played by Meyers) wants to take over the world and the only person/agent (of all the secret agency in the world) is Austin 'Danger' Powers.

Frozen in the 60's and revived in the 90's, Austin Powers needs to find and stop Dr. Evil from blowing up the world. Elizabeth Hurley plays the daughter of his original agent back in the 60' (Played by Mimi Rodgers) who teams up with Austin to find and stop Dr. Evil. Michael York gives a stellar performance as the headquarters assignment coordinator who gives Austin all his assignments.

The DVD extra's are great. The missing sequences and the original trailers and more. The commentary is my favorite on this. Mike Meyers and director Jay Roach have some great comical and interesting comments on the making of this movie.

Due out this Friday, (7-26-02), Goldmember is the Third Austin Powers film and if it half as good at this one and The Spy Who Shagged Me - it will be wonderful! Austin Powers is a great comedy to own!

Summary: Hidden Movie Trailer
Review: In the Main Menu, select the 'Cast Bios' entry and pick Mimi Rogers' biography. Then select the 'Star Highlight' entry in her filmographie, you'll be able to watch the full theatrical trailer to New Line's movie 'Lost In Space' in 5.1 Dolby Digital. If you select Tom York and Mrs. Hurly in the 'Star Highlight', it will also bring up outtakes from some of their movies, including on scene of Mrs. Hurly in a very sexy outfit.

Summary: Groovy, Baby!
Review: Austin Powers is one of those movies that was created to make you laugh. Mike Myers is good at playing multiple roles- Dr. Evil and Austin Powers. The movie relies heavily on funny lines, like the sea bass line and the bathroom scene. Those of you who have seen the movie will know what I mean. And also, the people who say this movie is stupid don't know what they're talking about. They probably just don't appreciate movies like this and Airplane!. Of course, if they hate Airplane! to, their nuts! So this movie earns 5 stars just for making people laugh!

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Stupit is the word to describe it.
Review: Austin Powers is one of those rediculous farces out there that don't make any sense. The plot is just too stupit and only 12 year old would find this funny. This movie is stupit all it is it's a wierd looking Mike Myers and some other wierd guys and some hot chicks in some really rediculous plot. That is really what this movie adds up to. If you want a good Mike Myers film check out Waynes World at least that was funny. This was a mess and stupit and once again everybody loved it Why? Because everyone else liked it!

Summary: austin powers is my happening baby and it freaks me out!
Review: (I did this for school originally!)

Throughout the world we see great movies, but one of the best is Austin Powers, International Man of Mystery. Although it may not have much of a plot, it recovers from the comedy and great acting.
Written by Mike Myers, produced by Mike Myers, and starring Mike Myers, Mike brings the audience to the screen and leaves them laughing.
British Austin Powers and his evil nemesis, Dr. Evil, freeze themselves one night in the 1970s and unfreeze in the 1990's. Both of them hilariously try to adapt to the 1990's. Austin is called upon to stop Dr. Evil from his evil ways. Vanessa Kensington is to help Austin on his mission. While planning to drill a hole in the earth's core, Dr. Evil is trying to bond with his son, Scott, whom he has never met before. Going to counseling with him, Dr Evil shares his strange childhood including his mother with webbed feet.
While planning to save the world, Austin is falling in love with Vanessa. Vanessa, on the other hand, can barely tolerate the sight of his stereotypically horrible British teeth.
After a very violent fight, Dr. Evil is stopped, but manages to escape. Austin and Vanessa celebrate their victory by getting married.
Overall the crude humor, violence and stereotyping of the psychedelic 1970's. Austin Powers International Man of Mystery is a great movie. People who enjoy dumb comedies will love it. However, some people will think it is just plain dumb (which it is ...).
This movie has great acting and leaves you in suspense. Will Vanessa and Austin last? Will Scott ever accept that his father is evil? You won't have to worry, because now you can see the sequel, Austin Powers, the Spy who Shagged Me. On July 26, 2002 you can rush to the theaters and see the third Austin Powers movie, Gold Member.
