Rating: Summary: SMASHING, BABY! Review: I would give this movie 5 stars, had I been old enough to understand it. You see, I was only 7 at the time, and I didn't understand most of the jokes. I know that Mike Myers is my fave actor, and that I howled all the way through the movie, but I'll repeat this one more time. I WAS TOO YOUNG TO UNDERSTAND ALL THE JOKES.P.S.- What a great movie and I now understand the jokes.
Rating: Summary: I didn't think the film was funny. Review: I don't know what I expected from the movie, but, I watched the entire tape only because I wanted to see exactly what caused the raves I'd heard about it. I was very disappointed when it ended, because I didn't get more than a chuckle, or two, from the efforts of the makers of it.
Rating: Summary: Great Movie Review: After seeing "So I Married an Axe Murderer", I thought that Mike Myers could never be as funny as he used to be, but this movie proved that he still has the ability to generate laughs. Austin Powers is one of the best spoofs that has ever come out of Hollywood, and shows just how great the range of Mike Myers is. The character I loved the most was Dr. Evil, he made the movie what it is. Anybody who wants to watch an excellent comedy needs to check out "Austin Powers:International Man of Mystery".
Rating: Summary: groovy baby Review: This movie is too funny for words. It was a depends movie, as Rosie would say, and it really is. Mike Myers has real talent. The fact that he can make just about anybody laugh is good enough for me. I own this video and watch it every time that I need comic relief. I'd recommend this movie to anyone who isn't a stick in the mud.
Rating: Summary: If he were any COOLER, he'd still be FROZEN Review: Not since 'CASINO ROYALE' has there been a BETTER spoof of the 'JAMES BOND' films. Mike Meyers is hilarious in his dual role as '60s super spy 'AUSTIN POWERS'and his arh nemesis 'DR. EVIL'. Sexy model/actress Elizabeth Hurley is fascinating in her role as Meyers' alluring partner 'MS. KESINGTON'. Robert Wagner is charming in his role as 'DR. EVIL'S' right hand 'NO.2' As with all the movies that i have reviewed i also have this film in my video library collection and i STRONGLY RECOMMEND to any viewer to buy this VERY FUNNY comedy spy spoof.
Rating: Summary: Mike Meyer's is a doll! Review: I remember being practically dragged to the theater to view this film. It turned out that I probably laughed the hardest of all the movie patrons. Mike Meyer's is incredibly talented. Elizabeth Hurley is so beautiful and I was pleasantly surprised that she did a fine job in this film. One scene that still stands out in my memory is the scene in which Dr.Evil and his son Scott are participating in a father/son therapy group. My friend and I always recite "An EEEVIL petting zoo?" They way Dr.Evil rambles on about his childhood and family, declaring that his father "claimed he invented the question mark" always cracks me up. You really have to open your mind and not be afraid to laugh at silliness. "Austin Powers" is a great movie and a must-have in your video collection.
Rating: Summary: VERY SHAGADELIC, BABY Review: I saw the second movie, last week and I loved it. So I decided to see the first one. I loved it from the very beginning. Mike Myers couldn't have played better. Dr. Evil was probably the funniest guy in the movie. Although it pulls sometimes, the acting covers the parts. I'd recommend it again, and again
Rating: Summary: If he were any COOLER, he'd still be FROZEN Review: Not since 'CASINO ROYALE' has there been a BETTER spoof of the 'JAMES BOND' films. Mike Meyers is HILARIOUS in his dual role of '60s super spy 'AUSTIN POWERS' and his arch-nemesis 'DR.EVIL'. SEXY model/actress Elizabeth Hurley is equally fascinating in her as Meyers' partner 'MS.KESINGTON'. Robert Wagner is humours in his role as 'DR.EVIL'S' right hand 'NO.2' This movie is GREAT,HILARIOUS, SIDE-SPLITTING fun. Two thumbs up
Rating: Summary: Hello, people this movie is supposed to be silly and stupid. Review: If you do not like this movie then you must not know who Mike Myers is. I would have thought the movie poster or video cover would have portrayed what type of movie this is. Perhaps, anyone who hated this movie should try a Sherlock Holmes movie.
Rating: Summary: An entertaining revisionist's look on the 60s and 70s Review: A nice revisionist's look on the 60s and 70s. No drugs, no Vietnam War, just good music and good outfits. This movie would have not become the cult favorite it is today without the comedic skills of Mike Myers whose goofy acting style makes characters like Austin Powers and Doctor Evil never seem to grow old. The Hollywood moralizing that occurs when Austin realizes he is "a stranger in a strange land" is a let down that neither contributes to the comedic escapades or rises to the series social commentary of urban malaise, however because that portion is brief it is forgivable. (Quotable quotes: "Shagadelic, baby!" and "Oh behave!")
