Far better than the first, Myers realized the importance and laugh potential of dr. evil and used it perfectly. Fat bastard was a funny addition to the cast. Buy it and you won't be sorry

Review: While I feel that this Austin is nowhere near as good as the first (repeted jokes, stale plot- don't get me wrong, it is still very funny) this is another example of a great New Line DVD. The last Austin on DVD was great, what with the deleted scenes and extras, and this one looks to be even better. Now, if the extra scenes involve a bit more of Mr. Bigglesworth, I may just have to give the movie 4 stars!

Review: this movie is one of the funniest movies of 1999. the chemistry of dr.evil and mini-me is great.and the fight with austin and mini-me is one of the funniest things i have ever seen.all in all its a good movie but it still isnt as good as the original

Review: This movie is so funny. It matches the original so much. It improves on bad parts from the first one, but also overuses the funny parts from the first one. But other than that, it is a great movie and i recommend it greatly.

Review: This is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. In the theater I was dying laughing! Dr. Evil is the best character in the whole world, and this movie shows more of him than the first one. So this one is better than the first!!! I can't believe it's out on video already! If you have not seen this movie then BUY IT cause you will not be dissapointed!!! FUNNY FUNNY STUFF!!!

Summary: Disappointing sequel to a hilarious film (2 1/2 stars)
Review: If it ain't broke, don't fix it, I guess. "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" was one of the funniest movies of the 1990s. It had the sort of humor that could have come from the Zucker brothers (Airplane and the Naked Guns). Mike Myers was terrific in his duel starring role, and Elizabeth Hurley did a decent job as the sexy Vanessa. In the end, you just had to smile at this funny movie. Of course, when it was first released, the first Austin Powers wasn't a huge hit at the box office, and it only got recognized through video. So it's success brought on an obligatory sequel, which unfortunatly jumped the shark in the first scene. If they were going to knock off Vanessa, at least they could have done it in a better manner...I mean, come on, a fembot? The Austin character is not nearly as developed as he was in the first movie. There are constant commercial tie ins which aren't funny, just sad. Mini-me was funny at first, but even he got old. Fat bastard was just stupid, unfunny and disgusting. A lot of jokes were recycled from the first movie (for example, the scene with the Will Ferrel character). There were missed opportunities for new jokes (when Austin went back in time in that New VW bug, they could have made it turn into an Old VW bug...well New VW bugs, like the movie, are just pale impressions of the original, I guess). But the worst part of the movie was Heather Graham. Yeah, she may look okay, but SHE CANNOT ACT! She appeared to be reading cue cards with a blank expression on her face for the entire movie. Why couldn't she be the fembot and Vanessa could have come back at the end? Please? But to give it some credit, there were some very funny scenes. The Dr. Evil character was on top of his game (I liked where he sang "One of Us" and then decided to take credit for it). Scott was still funny, despite the fact that if the writers would have done their math he would be 30 years old. But the funny parts were much more sporatic than the first movie, and they were replaced by too much "gross out" humor and commercialism, neither of which is very enjoyable.

Summary: The best film of the trilogy
Review: I personally liked it better than the 1st and 3rd movie. Dr. Evil invents a "Time Machine" to travel back to 1969 and steal Austin Powers mojo. Dr. Evil has himself cloned. The clone is perfect in every way, except he is one eighth his size. Austin Powers also time travels to get his mojo back. He winds up meeting a superchick named Felicity Shagwell and then the rest of it is your usual hilarious Austin Powers movie.

Review: Essentially, this film cedes the spotlight from Austin Powers to Dr. Evil. The most intriguing(and memorable) moments in this film involves Evil's strained relationship with his son, Scott(Seth Green) and the introduction of his clone Mini-Me(Vern Troyer). To paraphrase Dr. Evil, Mini-Me completes him. Mindy Sterling does a hilarious turn as Frau Bissana. The introduction of another Myers character, Fat Bastard, is initially funny but that character grows thin after a while. Heather Graham as the Austin babe is essentially just eye-candy. But it was nice to see Elvis Costello in a cameo singing Burt Bacharach's "I'll Never Fall in Love Again".
