Rating: Summary: The Plot seems a bit familliar...... Review: I felt that I was watching another one of Mike Myer's films, such as the film Wayne's World II. If you happen to watch the sequel to Wayne's World after the second Austin Power's you can see that the plots are the same. Main character looses something, main character has to go through a journey of some type, as of the archetype Hero's Journey, and then the main character has to make a sacrifice. I though that the jokes within the movie was nice, but, it doesn't rate up with the 1st austin powers. It is a must buy if you don't mind a little repetitition. I have to admit, i was laughing my a$$ off. :-) Groove People!
Rating: Summary: Funny baby yeah! Review: For anyone who saw this at the cinema and liked it, then you are in for a treat! It has all the usual "Austin" gags, and a heap of extras! The trailers alone are worth their wieght in gold. As well as the trailers, there are the deleted scenes which will have you begging for mercy (and for more). Why they left these out is beyond me, but they are just af good if not better than the stuff in the movie. Basically, if you want a good laugh and loved either the first Austin movie and/or saw this one at the cinema, then you really are going to love this. About the only thing missing from this DVD is the popcorn and some retro-clothing! Yeah Baby!
Rating: Summary: GRRREAT! Review: This movie is the funniest movie I have ever seen. My mom let my friend and I see it the first day it came out, then the day after all of her friends said don't let your kids see it. It was too late, but we loved it. My mom just saw it and hated it. It is a great movie for teens and people in their early twenties. Most adults didn't like it.
Rating: Summary: Need to Shag the Movie seen in the Theatres Review: The DVD contained a very funny movie I would recommend to everyone. I Love IT!. BUT... the hilariously blatant commercialism and some other scenes from the Theatre release didn't seem to make it to the DVD. I found the Music Videos unsuitable for children (9 to 13)
Rating: Summary: Weak, Really Really Weak, Baby Review: I didn't care too much for the first Austin Powers movie, and I had pretty much the same reaction to this sequel.I kept reading positive reviews while it was at the theater and people I work with were telling me how funny it was. What a waste of time....I can't believe I managed to stay awake for the whole thing. It just wasn't funny at all...and some of the jokes were SO corny, that I found myself wondering if they were bad on purpose as part of the humor...but I don't think so. Glad I got my copy for free.
Rating: Summary: ROLL ON FLOOR LAUGHING! Review: on your marks... get set... LAUGH! Some people could use a good laugh and this is the movie to do it! this light hearted comedy is very funny and mike myers (who is almost the hole cast) is wonderful in this! Mini-me, Dr. Evil, Austin, Frau, they all make this movie what it is.... HILLARIOUS! i mean, come on. Who else can play a fat, digruntled irish man, an evil docter, and a 60s sex symbol? mike myers defintly adds his own little touch to the movie!
Rating: Summary: A Bit of Alright! Review: This movie was totally the best, it was very funny. You peeps should really really get this movie. (if you like things that are so stupid their funny, that is) And for all you that think it has no plot or somethin like that, GET A LIFE, A NORMAL ONE FOR INSTANCE! So, please just watch and "enjoy"! I really think this movie deserves 5 stars. Chow.
Rating: Summary: Funny, but... Review: I viewed this movie twice. Once on the big screen while in Iceland, and then at home. I would agree that this film has terrific comedic moments (I love "We do not knaw on our kitty"). I think what spoiled this film for me both times was the loss of spontaneity we found in the first film. We knew what to expect this time, and we got it baby. For some, this is what we wanted. However, I still wanted some freshness to come out of the writing/improvisation and character development. Troyer, Sterling, and Green are terrific. Myers is at his zany best, particularly as Dr. Evil. (Maybe we need a Dr. Evil movie!) Yet, Heather Graham really bothered me in her role. I loved her in "Boogie Nights," and would be the first to say she is very talented. But this just wasn't her role. This film depended on her character too much. I think Kristen Johnston would had been more appropriately cast as Felicity (sorry Heather). Finally, I liked the original "Austin Powers" soundtrack much better than "The Spy Who Shagged Me" soundtrack. The music set the mood for the first film (as soundtracks should) better than for the second. "Beautiful Stranger" and "American Woman" are great. But the musical magic isn't there like in the first film.
Rating: Summary: A Review of the Customer Reviews Review: OK, I read through all of the customer reviews and understand that everyone has their own idea of funny ~ but come on people this movie was funny! This is a fun, light movie! My family and I rented the sequel we thought it was so funny (we went out and bought it the next day) we had to rent the first one. I'm convinced that Mike Meyers watched people as they watched the first one and picked up on what was funny and made the second one full of this humor. It was the BEST sequel movie I have every seen! Buy or Rent this movie ~ It's just a fun movie to watch!
Rating: Summary: If I Could Give 0 Stars I Would. Review: How do you insult a brilliant movie like Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery? Simple. Make Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. Every joke that was in this film was not only used in the first movie, but repeated over, and over again in this one. The scenes with Felicity and Austin were nothing but fantasies a 13 year old boy would have. (Hey, now I know who wrote the script!) Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery was a great movie and a hysterical spoof on James Bond. Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me insulted my intelligence as well as Mike Meyers self respect. If you feel that you must see this movie, go ahead. But don't say I didn't warn you.
