Rating: Summary: Good film, but missing some... Review: I really thought that this movie was really funny, just as funny of the first one. I would have given this movie four stars, except for the plot hole at the beginning when it was said that Venessa was always a Fem-bot. They didn't continue with why, but it makes the audience wonder if her parents were also fem-bots.This movie is still really funny, but some of the scenes almost made me sick, which made it lose another star. I don't want to give anymore spoilers, so I'll just say that you should see this movie for yourself to decide whether you like it or not.
Rating: Summary: One Off My Favorite Movies Review: This was the funniest movie of 1999. Forget There's Something About Mary or American Pie, this was the funniest. It's about a superspy (Mike Myers) who tries to stop Dr. Evil (Mike Myers) and his sidekick Mini-Me (Verne Troyer), a pint size clone of Dr. Evil, from taking over the world and blowing up every major cd from a laser placed on the moon. I don't want to spoil it for you. Just buy this or rent it. You won't regret it. I also reccomend Wayne's World, Wayne's World 2, and National Lampoon's Animal House if you like this. This is one of my favorite movies along with the ones I mentioned above. Buy all four! You really won't regret it!
Rating: Summary: Too much toilet humor Review: This one is torture to sit through if you don't enjoy potty and body part jokes. I would never have seen this one if I didn't have a friend who loves the movie. Having suffered through it once, I have informed him that I will never watch it again.
Rating: Summary: Non-stop laughs! Review: I don't care what anbody says. This movie was MUCH better than the 1st one(even though the first one was great as well)! So buy this along with "International Man Of Mystery" today!
Rating: Summary: Big Craze, Big Movie. Review: You must be from Mars if you haven't heard of Austin Powers - the most shagadelic spy alive! In the first movie, Powers gave us a groovy storyline, an awesome sidekick and a laugh-in-a-minute idea. This film - the sequel is not as good as expected nor as funny as the first one, but it is definitely worth a look. Austin Powers (Mike Myers) is back partying from the shagadelic 90's, and he is fine until the most-ungrooviest doctor in the world, Dr. Evil steals his mojo. Now, as he tries his hardest to shag Felicity Shagwell (Heather Graham), his new sidekick he must also get his mojo back, kill Doctor Evil and try not to get killed all at the same time. Austin Powers is almost as amazing as Mike Myers, who wrote this film and played 3 or 4 people. Fun and shagadelic, Austin Powers : The Spy Who Shagged Me is a highlight of 99 and a must-see for all Powers fans!
Rating: Summary: A Wonderful good-time Comedy Review: This movie isn't exactly going to win an oscar for "best movie", but that's not what it's aimed at. This movie is hillarious! It has you laughing before the beginning credits are through! Okay, so maybe the comedy isn't exactly intelligent and provoctive, but hey, does it really matter when your rolling on the floor? The music is also great, but if you are going to buy the soundtrack, buy the first. The one that says, ORIGINAL. I know reviews say the old songs are better, but you can't get "just the 2 of us" on the second cd. The song is hillarious! This tape definately insures a good time!
Rating: Summary: Needed Elizabeth Hurley Review: One of the things that made the original funnier was the fact that Elizabeth Hurley's character was not at all captivated by Austin Powers and found his shenanigans childish. This was new to Powers, who was used to women drooling over him. In this sequel, Heather Grahm's character is one of those admiring women and we don't have the same interplay or have a hidden love story. The jokes and innuendos seem slightly more explicit. I did like Mini-me, the miniturized version of Dr. Evil. Rob Lowe's performance as a young Number 2 was right on as he seemed to imitate Robert Wagner's voice and mannnerisms in a funny way.
Rating: Summary: Double Oh Behave! Review: Of course, Austin Powers : The Spy Who Shagged Me is as groovy or as daring as the first movie< but it is well worth a look! The movie has a groovy storyling which comes back to Austin Powers who is back to save the world from Dr. Evil, but it isn't that simple this time, because the Evil guy has stolen his mojo! So call in the sexy Felicity Shagwell (Heather Graham), a couple a guns, a large dick and a daring idea - the twosome decide to take on Dr. Evil! Awesome, funny, and cool but definitely not as good as the original.
Rating: Summary: Throw me a fricken bone here! Review: Mike Myers, a comical master, wrote the script for Austin Powers. Further, in this film, he plays Austin Powers and his worst enemy, Dr. Evil. Simply put, this is a farce on James Bond films. If you have seen all the Bonds, you will actually recognize Dr. Evil and Mr. Fuji in Austin Powers. Like Pussy Galore, Austin Powers has the bad lady, Allota Fagina. I loved this movie...it made me laugh hard. What I love most is Dr. Evil...everything about him....his wierd grey suit, his deformed facial scar, the way he holds his finger to his mouth...and most of all...the therapy session he has with his son Scott.(only a genius could of drafted those words together) What is the movie about? Bad guy wants to rule the world, good guy had to stop him. Lots of good one liners in this film...can get a bit boring imbetween good parts.
Rating: Summary: Good Mindless Humor Review: The Spy Who Shagged Me is the sequel to Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. Unfortunately, some of the laughs were supposed to be from running jokes of the first movie, which I didn't see. They were basic enough to be funny, but I somehow think they would have been funnier had I seen the original movie. The premise of this movie is that Dr. Evil wants to go back in time to steal Austin's mojo thereby making him impotent (pardon the pun) to stop him in his quest to take over the world. The best part about this concept is that Dr. Evil's cohorts ask him the same questions that we ourselves would ask in the same situation. Questions like: if you have the ability to go back in time, why not go back to when Austin is a young boy and kill him then? To which Dr. Evil replies that that just isn't evil enough for him. Question answered, now we can get to some mindless laughter. And mindless it is. Don't expect too much high brow humor from any movie that Mike Myers is responsible for. Myers may be the Picasso of the scatalogical reference. Most of the jokes deal with sexual innuendo or body functions, true teenage humor at its best. The Spy Who Shagged Me is a nice diversion from the serious side of life. If laughter is the best medicine, then this movie will help heal many people. So long as they don't think too hard about it.
