Summary: A Great Retrospective
Review: Saturday Night Live has had its share of bad skits, lackluster performers, and just plain awful seasons, but I highly recommend this Saturday Night Live video more than any other. Pratically every member of the cast showed up, with the exception of Eddie Murphy. Also, many of the guest hosts return such as Heather Locklear,Alec Baldwin, and John Goodman to name a few.

From the early genius of Gilda Radner to the so-so years with Billy Crystal to the rebirth with Adam Sandler and Mike Myers, it's all here. A couple highlights include: Bill Murray redoing his lounge singer character to perfection, some twenty years after he originally did it, and also a tearful tribute to Phil Hartman by Jon Lovitz and Jan Hooks. If you are a fan of SNL then buy this video. The only thing you'll regret is it wasn't longer...

Summary: How can people say that mad tvs better.
Review: Some do. How? I don't know. But all I know is that this is hilarious. The only reason that I didn't give it all 5 stars is because of all the profanity. It seems like the ausidence started cracking up every time someone said ass. Other thsn that its a great show with really bad lanugage.

Summary: This [is weak]
Review: The show was funny in the seventies, but now it just plain [weak].They get like five laughs per show.I personally like to watch to see how bad they will bomb this week.Mad tv is so much funnier....The writers are horrible and as for the actors I would say just because someone is ugly doesn't make them funny. SNL[is weeak]. Even talents such as Jack Black and Nia Vardalos couldn't save the skits.

Summary: I Will Feed Your Fingertips to the Wolverines...
Review: This disc boasts an impressive collection of highlights from the SNL archives, joined together by (for once) some actually funny links. Tom Hanks is the foil of a tried-and-true SNL convention--the host interrupted by audience members--that brings out the comedic best in Jon Lovitz and Christopher Walken. (By the way, if you missed this year's Walken-hosted show, be sure to catch it in rerun. It was the best of the season so far.) The show even contains some sentimental tributes to departed performers. The beauty of these is that they are all done tastefully and they are, if you are old enough to appreciate them, quite moving. The live musical performances are quite good, particularly Elvis Costello backed by the quite intent Beastie Boys. So good, in fact, that by the time this lengthy (but never long) show ends, you might not even realize that the DVD does not include the musical highlight segments that were part of the original telecast. Too bad, otherwise this would be a five-star disc. There is one segment included in the program that did not make it to air--an interesting behind-the-scenes look at the creation of a show. This may not be a disc you'll watch often, but it's an excellent sampling of what is now--gasp!--a TV institution. And that's not a put-down.

Summary: Great Movie
Review: This has got to be one of the greatest movies I've ever seen!
It is so incredibly funny and what I really love about it, is the fact that it contains clips from the first shows upto the recent ones. Any SNL fan should own this video. My family and I have watched it about five times now and we still laugh every time we see it.

Summary: "Live!, From New York!!...."
Review: This is a fun and very nostalgic trip back through 25 years of Saturday Night Live. Now, the show has had it's ups and downs. It's downs were really bad. But, when the show was good, it was really good. And, of course, many of the most brilliant comedians came from this show. Pretty damn good. This long show is filled with the show's best, funniest, and most classic scenes. It's also filled to the brim with cast members and people who have hosted. There are also performances by Al Green, Eurythmics, and Elvis Costello. The show gets emotional when they pay tribute to cast members who've passed away : Gilda Radner, John Belushi, Chris Farley, Phil Hartman, and Danitra Vance. It's one funny moment after another. It's also nice to know that the show has gotten back on it's feet here in the last few years, thanks to Will Ferrell, Cheri Oteri, Molly Shannon, and others. Watch this and have a fun evening!.

Summary: Absolutely GREAT for SNL fans and collectors!
Review: This is one of my favorite things to watch over and over again that i never get sick of.

Before i watched this, i was all into the 90's stuff like Adam Sandler and Norm MacDonald (which is still very good!), and i always thought "The 70's stuff is so old, and the humor was so much different back then. i hate it". But after i watched this, i absolutely fell in love with the first 5 years! I've always loved Chevy Chase and Steve Martin, but this is truly some of their funniest work. Gilda Radner is such a sweetheart. It was cool when Molly Shannon and Cheri Oteri gave her a tribute, but i wish it would of been longer. Belushi is a side spliter too.

If you are an SNL fan of ANY era of the show, you'll want to pick this up! A must-have for your dvd collection.

Summary: THIS IS SOME OF THE BEST SNL FOOTAGE!!!!!!!!!
Review: This was a very good collection of the best SNL footage of the past 25 years. There are skits from all the 70s, 80s, and 90s. For some of you that have only seen present SNL episodes this will give you a great opportunity to see stars like Bill Murray and Eddie Murphy at their best.
