Review: Anytime you finish watching a DVD and the only thing your thinking is "God that was just wrong", you know they got the job done!

Review: I bought the DVD 'Mr Show' based upon the reviews that accompanied it. I can rate this show in two words. 'IT [STINKS]!'

Do not waist your money or time.

Summary: One of the best shows ever!
Review: I'll admit that I bought this DVD without ever seeing the show, but ever since I've had the DVD I have to say that it might be one of the funniest shows I've ever seen. In my opinion the funniest part of the show are the musical segments (Three times one minus one, Jeepers Creepers- the biggist failure in broadway history, The Joke - The Musical, etc) but most of the sketches are pretty damn funny anyway. I won't bother describing them to you because it will just end up sounding stupid. I can't wait till seasons 3 and 4 are released because from what I hear it only gets better.

Summary: In the Vein of Monty Python and Kids in the Hall
Review: I don't know, from their audio commentary, whether these guys recognize how obvious their primary influences are. One is Monty Python's Flying Circus, a show that aimed for non-linear sketch comedy, continuous flow at the expense of traditional structure (sometimes even dispensing with punchlines), brilliance, relevance, surrealism, and which didn't "play down" to the audience but instead aimed for a high degree of intellectualism. Kids in the Hall, who were influenced by Python, retained most of those characteristics but updated the genre, moving towards small dramatic scenes while dealing with issues like the modern family unit, big business, working for a big business, and teenage angst.

Mr. Show plays exactly like those two shows did. It is occasionally bizarre and effete in a way that will turn viewers off. But it is frequently brilliant, so brilliant, incisive, and funny that it can make you cry. Among the topics explored and satirized well are political correctness, homophobia, global capitalism, and vapidity on television.

David Cross, especially, is a great performer, and Bob Odenkirk certainly has his moments. If you're interested in ambitious comedy, you'll definitely want to see these episodes. Best episode here - #2, really an amazing show.

Summary: Yay Mr Show!!
Review: This DVD is pretty funny. I had a dream last night that me and Bob Odenkirk were the best of friends. That was fun, because he is a funny guy! Yay Mr Show!!

Summary: Comedy
Review: It is not surprising that this show was cancelled. It was the funniest most intelligent comedy ever to come through the idiot box. This show goes beyond "funny." It's liquid-concentrate (now available in pill form) comedy. A lot of people come down hard on people for "not getting" the show, and blaming it on their low-brow sense of humor, which is probably a bit harsh. After all, one's own sense of humor should be a place where ideas can hang out...and do whatever.

Suggestion 1. Don't force this on people. They'll end up not liking you and you'll end up watching Mr. Show all tensed up hating yourself for showing it to someone who probably laughs whenever someone does the Homer Simpson "Woo-Hoo!"
Suggestion 2. Don't bother explaining any of the sketches to people who haven't seen it. They'll judge you.
Suggestion 3. Forget what I said about going easy on the people who don't get it. They're dumb, and they probably should begin coming to grips with it. WOO-HOO!

Finally, if you're thinking of getting this DVD for someone as a gift, make sure you fully understand their sense of humor. For example, if they've ever started a sentence with "Did you see the episode of Everybody Loves Raymond where..." buy them something else...like a fish tank or new VW Beetle. They'll love it/them.

Summary: One of a kind!!!
Review: This freakin' show is absolutely hilarious. It's run-on comedy style is like no other. What's better is the DVD is like 5 hours long, so it's well worth the money!! It's the funniest, let-alone best, DVD i've bought in a long time. I used to stay up and watch the show on HBO all the time, and I went crazy when I found out it had been released to DVD. I can't wait until they release the 3rd and 4th seasons. I recommend this DVD to anyone who has a sense of humor!!

Summary: American Comedy
Review: This show is very American, I couldn't understand many of the jokes, but I understand it is a big hit in the States. I didn;t enjoy it as much since it is too alien to me. A show many guys will like, the girls should just stick to SEX & THE CITY series.
