Summary: Who made this thing?
Review: I love Save by the Bell but why are the shows out of order. One of the main reasons I bought these DVDs were to see the real order of the shows. However, the shows aren't even in order. When Slater moves to Bayside is on the third disk. What's up with that? Also, the box tears when you remove the seal. This was very poorly done. Saved by the bell is a great show, but these DVDs are not.

Review: WHAT CAN YOU SAY THAT MY FELLOW SAVED BY THE BELL HEAD'S HAVEN'T ALREADY SAID...THE ONLY WAY I RECOMMEND THIS SET IS IF YOU CAN'T WAKE UP EARLY ENOUGH TO WATCH IT ON TBS
THE FIRST THING THAT JUMPS OUT IS THAT THE THEME SONG IS DIFFERENT WHEN YOU SELECT YOUR EPISODE...BUT WHEN YOU FIRST POP IN THE DVD THE MAIN MENU HAS THE ORIGINAL THEME PLAYING GO FIGURE!
OTHER PROBLEMS I HAVE WITH THE SET IS THE BOX IS CHEAPLY MADE WHEN YOU GO TO PEEL OF THE SECURITY STICKER THE BOX RIPS WHICH [is bad] IF YOU ARE LIKE ME AND KEEP YOUR DVD COLLECTION IN TIP TOP SHAPE...PLUS THE BOX WILL RIP IN HALF IF YOU GIVE IT A TWIST
THERE IS A SLOT TO PUT A BOOKLET IN BUT OF COARSE NO BOOKLET TO BE FOUND...LOOKING AT THIS DVD JUST MAKES ME WONDER IF THE DISTRIBUTOR REALLY GIVES A SQUAT ABOUT THE FANS AND OR THE SHOW AND I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF SAVED BY THE BELL SEASON 3 AND 4 DON'T SEE THE LIGHT OF DAY FOR A WHILE JUST BECAUSE I DON'T THINK THEY CARE ENOUGH

Summary: One of the best series of the 90's
Review: I loved this show as a kid and I'm totally surprised it's on dvd now. I had no idea they were even putting the seasons on dvd. Anyway looks like there's no special features and that's too bad but it's still nice to be able to watch the episodes whenever I want.

Yes you can watch the show on TBS like one reviewer here points out but on dvd can watch any episode you want. Can't pick which one you want to watch on TBS and not everyone gets up early in the morning when it's on. Think it's on in the afternoon too around 1:00 or so but not everyone is even home then.

So I think owning them on dvd is worth it because you can watch them anytime you want. Anyway go back to the early 90's and relive watching your favorite Bayside students Zach, Kelly, Slater, Screech and Jessy do things their way. Saved By the Bell is a charming high school comedy that is funny but has some heart and real life issues it deals with as well.

Summary: Disappointed
Review: I'm still awaiting my set, but I was extremely disappointed to learn that the REAL first season of SBTB, "Good Morning Miss Bliss," aka the Junior High year, will not be included. I seriously doubt anyone but a major die-hard would buy that season separately, so really this was our only chance. Even sadder still is that early press releases, if I remember correctly, suggested GMMB would be included. Why else would you put two seasons in a set rather than one?!?

"Good Morning Miss Bliss" has always been one of those mysteries to me, as I've always seen it in syndication as "SBTB." I'd love to see the original opening credits and how that came about, and you know, commentaries and/or pop-up trivia couldn't have killed them, either. I've also always wanted to see the "Good Morning" pilot which didn't even feature Zack!

Unfortunately, I think the chances of ever getting that first season are nil. Here's hoping the actual DVD doesn't suck (although this "production order" nonsense implies to me that the people putting this together didn't even WATCH the show...)

Summary: This collection is missing episodes!!!
Review: I love SBTB, but I was dissapointed in this collection. In the packaging, there is a place to put a booklet, but no booklet was included.

Aside from the "King of the Hill" episode (where A.C. Slater is introduced) not being the first episode on disc 1 (as it should be) and some of the other episodes being out of order, THERE ARE 5 EPISODES THAT ARE MISSING from Season 2!:
10.13 - The Fabulous Belding Brothers
10.15 - Breaking Up Is Hard To Undo
10.16 - The Glee Club
10.17 - Video Yearbook
10.18 - Snow White & The Seven Dorks

I don't mind that there are no special features or no chaptered menus, but I would have at least liked for all of the episodes to be on there. Lions Gate would have been better off releasing seasons 1 & 2 separately on three discs each and sell each set at [a dollar amount], so that we could at least get all of the episodes.

Summary: TBS is Better
Review: I rather watch the re-runs on TBS rather than on this Dvd set I purchased. I expected some extras- behind the scenes-interviews- and where are they now? I know that some of the former cast memebers can give up a day to talk about their experience or something. Mario Lopez lives in the same neigborhood as my aunt...and I always see him when I go over to my aunt's place I will tell him how bad the Dvd Set, and that whoever put this Dvd set together did a Horrible job. Your better off watching it on TBS.

Summary: My favorite TV show ever, but...
Review: I need to start out by saying that there are few people in the universe more qualified than I am to write this review. This has been my favorite show since it was broadcast on Saturday mornings. When I saw that the DVD was available, I almost had a heart attack and bought it right up. I don't mean to sound like a DVD nerd, this series is very important to me and I have to say I was disappointed.

First, the positives. It's Saved By the Bell, which makes the collection more priceless than gold and I thought it was very considerate of them to pack two seasons on to one boxed set. As a grizzled veteran of the Simpsons DVDs, I found this very nice. The price is also pretty amazing. It comes on 5 discs and has (almost) all of the episodes from seasons 1 and 2.

Unfortunately, I find several things dissatisfying about the collection. While I don't regret buying it, I wish the distributors would have spent a little more time putting the collection together. The packaging is very cheap and flimsy. When you try to remove the security label on the top of the box, the box tears off with it. Also the spine is very fragile in the fold-out and will tear easily. I am very careful with my DVD boxes and had a few close calls from handling it the first time.

Related is the fact that there are NO SPECIAL FEATURES!!!! I find this absurd. What would be better than a grown-up Dustin Diamond providing voice-over commentary?! They totally missed the boat on this one. There are myriad tidbits they could have included, but didn't. TV spots? None. The True Hollywood Story? Sorry. A cast photo gallery? No way. Not even the cheap stuff! This was the most disappointing absent feature on the DVDs.

Finally, and this isn't really disappointing, more confusing than anything, but they didn't include the pilot episode on the first season discs. Why? I understand that it isn't technically part of the first season, but in spirit it is. Additionally, the Good Morning, Miss Bliss episodes aren't included either. Logic seems to dictate that they won't release it or it will come out later...which means we'll have to buy another season on its own.

So I suggest that any die-hard fan like myself take the plunge and invest in the collection, if only to reliably have the "entire" series in case they take the show out of syndication. I also want to stress that the 3-star rating has nothing to do with the quality of the show. That would be six stars out of five. But don't expect anything too fancy, or else you'll be sourly disappointed like I am.

Summary: One of the Best on Sat. Morning
Review: Saved By The Bell was originally a project called "Good Morning Miss Bliss" staring Hayley Mills. It was produced by Disney for ABC? I think, help me out here, that Mr. Belding?, Zack, Screech, and Lisa were the only holdovers as the kids progressed from Jr. High to High School. SBTB was always fun to watch and led to further iterations of fine live-action fare for all on Saturday mornings. Can you dig Zack's ultra high tech cell phone?
