Rating: Summary: Funny! Review: Good movie about 2 grown men who are best friends and they go gambling. One gives the other 2 quarters so he can play a machine and he wins a jackpot! Problem is....It was his friends quarters! So through out the entire movie they bicker about sharing the money this problem leads the 2 into loads of huge, huge other problems all because of two quarters!
Rating: Summary: Great Movie Review: I didn't like it at first either - didn't quite get it. My advice to those who didn't appreciate it previously is, watch it again. The movie is on par with David's hilarious "Curb Your Enthusiasm" TV show. The humor is different, "quirky" - quirky enough that people misinterpret it. I'll admit that there are some lame pieces in here where David's contempt for the show "Friends" shines through in a nasty way (he feels that the show ripped off "Seinfeld" which he co-created). But those are just minor jokes in a movie full of clever humor. The plot involves two cousins; one gives the other his last two quarters to play in a slot machine, at which point that cousin hits a jackpot. He only grudgingly admits that the cousin gave him the quarters that he played with, and offers him insultingly small portions of the winnings. It's a funny setup. It reminds me very much of situations in my professional life where everybody is coming out a winner, but pride rears its irrational head and ruins the fun for everyone. It's a blast. Watch this movie with an open mind. It's a flawed gem, with just too many rough edges in it to have mass appeal. But it's funny as all get-out.

Rating: Summary: it is elementary, oh yeah babe Review: I don't know what else can be said about this wonderful DVD. Everything you've ever loved about life can be found in Sour Grapes. Life has many wonderful surprises at each and every turn. If you are a fan of the kind of life I'm describing right now, then you are really in luck, because sometimes I don't even know how old I am. You love people who don't understand life, and Sour Grapes is a classic.
Rating: Summary: Not worthy of all the praise. Review: I think Larry David is a genius...I'm still bemoaning the loss of Seinfeld along with the rest of the fans, and I think Curb Your Enthusiasm is even better. But this movie has very little resemblance to either. Some funny moments that probably would be enhanced without the expectation of a feature length Larry David production. The two main characters, Stephen Weber and Craig Bierko basically lack the requisite angst filled, anxiety ridden neuroses that we've become accustomed too. And neither possesses the ethnic credibility to make this work. It's just not very good, and that's a shame. Give movies another shot Larry-you're fans aren't going anywhere. 2 fillings.
Rating: Summary: This is a horrible movie Review: Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm is hilarious. Seinfeld was hilarious. The type of humor in these two successful TV shows simply does not work in a full-length movie. The movie is horrible, the ending is absurd, in fact the whole entire plotline is absurd. Don't waste your time with this film - watch an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm instead.
Rating: Summary: Unrated movie!!! Review: People compare this movie to Seinfeld but it is not, and doesn't try to be. Larry David's attempt to create a movie that is funny and offbeat certainly is a success. Craig Bierko is a great actor and really shines in some funny situations. Same thing with Weber. If you like Curb, then give this movie at least a rent. Not everyone has the sense of humor needed to enjoy a movie like this. Great Flick!
Rating: Summary: Seinfeldesque! A hilarious comedy! Review: Steven Weber and Criag Beirko play wonderfully side by side in this side-splitting comedy about best-friend cousins--until one of them, Richie (Beirko), wins a jackpot with his cousin Evan's (Weber) quarters. The antics that follow clearly take the path of a typical "Seinfeld" episode. The most lovable charcter is Richie's mother who worries non stop about her son and would have to be killed if something would happen to her son--like if he got a brain tumor! If you were a fan of "Seinfeld," and then again, who wasn't, don't miss "Sour Grapes."
Rating: Summary: Best comedy I've seen this year Review: Terrific ensemble acting: even the bit parts were wonderfully paced. If you liked Seinfeld, you'll love this picture!
Rating: Summary: If you're looking for something laugh-out-loud... Review: The only time I saw this movie was when I rented it; I have since bought it. I didn't see it at the movies because the critics slaughtered it, and I wish I had now. It is a very funny movie, written of course by the co-creator of Sienfield, so expect the twists and turns that Sienfield was infamous for, but with a more adult edge. You will find yourself laughing out loud, almost guiltily, and if you don't, well, you're probably dead. It's pure fluff entertainment and worth the DVD's price. I give this movie five popcorn farts. Great stuff.
