Rating: Summary: My All-Time Favorite Movie! Review: Five (5)++++ stars! I love this movie! I first saw it in a movie theatre in the 70s when I was approximately 11 or 12. I have seen it at least 20 times since then, and never tire of it. I own the video (the only video I own). Don't let the G rating turn you away. It is not juvenile humor. Madeline Kahn is outstanding as Eunice Burns, as well as the rest of the cast. Barbra, as usual, is incredible.
Rating: Summary: A family classic Review: This movie has been a perenial favorite for our family since my mom watched it while pregnant with me (almost sending her into labor). I have yet to find one individual who didn't hurt from laughing at Madeline Khan skidding her heals in the ballroom as she's dragged screaming from the room. Perfect for all ages and senses of humor.
Rating: Summary: A great family film for parents tired of kiddie fare Review: At last, a grownup movie I can watch with my three-year-old son! I first saw this with my family when it aired on TV in the 70s, and loved it. Years later I watched it again and was happy to see I still enjoyed it. But best of all, it appeals to my child too. I rented it so he could see the fabulous and hysterical car chase scene at the end, but he actually paid attention to the whole thing -- a first! He was riveted by all the intrigue too, and found the suitcase switching scenario quite fascinating. Of course, the chase scene is a classic, something all ages can get a kick out of. (I love the exchange, "What's happening? I can't see!" "There's not much to see, actually, we're inside a Chinese dragon.") If you're tired of watching the kiddie films over and over, try this one and give yourself a treat as well as the little one.
Rating: Summary: You're The Top! Review: Absolutely wonderful! Just hearing Madeline Kahn yelling for "Howard, Howard Bannister!" brings a smile to my face everytime and the bicycle cart chase through the streets of San Francisco is still one of the all-time best chase scenes in Hollywood history. I wish Hollywood would make more movies like this. Good, clean fun with witty, rapid one-liners! I first saw this film 27 years ago and it hasn't aged one bit! What's up Doc? Fun, pure fun!!
Rating: Summary: A Classic Comedy! Review: My parents introduced me to this film when I was a child. I laughed then and continue to enjoy it now! No matter how many times I watch this, it's still funny. I highly recommend viewing this in conjunction with "Bringing Up Baby."
Rating: Summary: Very funny.Hillarious Review: It's a very funny movie and the acting is really good.Streisand has to make movies like this until she retires.Witch I hope is never.
Rating: Summary: The Funniest Comedy of All-Time! Review: Peter Bogdanovich's "What's Up, Doc?," a tribute to the screwball comedies of the 1930's, would have been great no matter who he chose to star in it. But when you have an absolutely brilliant performance from the legendary Streisand, a good leading man turn from O'Neal, and a flat-out hilarious supporting turn from Kahn, you have a film that is actually BETTER then the golden films that inspired it!
Rating: Summary: They just don't make 'em like this anymore! Review: I haven't seen this movie in several years and I am pleased to say it has aged well. Streisand proves that she is one of the most diverse talents of our generation. Peter Bogdanovich's final comedic car chase is the benchmark for any which follow, but few live up to it's fast-paced, no holds barred, rip roaring salute to the slap stick comedies of the '30's. It's silly, but if you check your brain at the door, you can leave your troubles behind for 90 minutes of pure unadulterated FUN!!!
Rating: Summary: Hilarious mad-cap adventure! Review: This movie is one of the best to show off Barbra Streisand's great comedic talents. She is relaxed, funny, and absolutely beautiful in this film. Unlike her previous roles, with the exception of "The Owl & Pussycat", Barbra looks very hip, very in for that genre. Long straight hair, slim, tanned, and dressed in jeans and a tanktop, she's a knock out! The chemistry between O'neal & Streisand works well, and Madeline Khan is great as the shrill fiancee of O'neal. If you like zany comedies with car chases, fights, mix-ups, and a "love story" thrown in there for good measure, you'll LOVE "What's up, Doc!"
Rating: Summary: The funniest movie ever! Review: What's up Doc? will never be out of date. I laugh as much or more now than I did in 1972. The cast is great, and the action is great, especially considering that it was filmed 27 years ago. If you want a movie you can watch, enjoy, not have to think about and something that will keep you in stitches, you must add this one to your collection!!! :) :)
