Summary: Just Plain Fun
Review: Clue isn't your typical movie. It may have an all-star cast, but they're not necessarily there to provide their best roles. What they *are* there for is to have fun. And with all the dialogue and slapstick humor as well as a mystery the audience can get involved with, they manage to succeed. Clue doesn't have what it takes to become a "classic" movie, but it has a special style which will make it a favorite for years to come!

Summary: Murder most funny
Review: I unfortunately did not get a chance to see this movie in the theater, but as I entered high school in the early 90's, it had become somewhat of a cult classic with other students (I guess it's a Tim Curry thing.) I have seen this movie at least 50 times, and still love it as much as the first time I saw it.

While on the actual box to the original board game it looks as though the characters were plucked from a sixties B-movie, this film is a murder mystery in the mid-1950's amongst people who are all being blackmailed by the same mysterious man whose name even foreshadows his death.

There aren't a lot of fall-out-of-your-chair-laughing lines, but there are many belly laughs. The casting is perfect. While the characters are basically flat, the quirky characterizations of these people who all, ironically, have strong ties to the government, are realistic enough so the viewer doesn't lose interest.

I don't think the producers of this movie were going for a political commentary on the times of J. Edgar Hoover, so if you're looking for a mystery with merit, air-tight continuity, and a recreation of life in the middle of the last century, you probably won't like this movie. But, if you like a fun whodunit film with some great lines you won't be able to catch in one viewing--go for it! Sit back, relax, pay attention to the wit, but don't pay too close attention for mistakes.

Best line: Col. Mustard: You lure men like a spider with flies. Mrs. White: Flies are where men are most vulnerable.

Summary: An all time favorite!
Review: Clue is a great triumph of excellent ensemble casting great all aroud audience entertainment. The dialogue is a perfect blend of cheesiness, dry humor, wit and plot conveyance. The acting is that which only greats like Christopher Lloyd, Madeline Kahn and Tim Curray can deliver--fantastic! Additionally, it makes for a great family film as the presence of sex/violence/swearing is almost non-existant. A great movie that everyone can enjoy. Perfect movie night selection.

Summary: Great Movie For The Board Game Lovers
Review: One of the best movies of the 80's. Very well acted, and you'll never know who the killer is. It leaves you in suspense until the end. You may have heard that there are 3 endings to the story. That makes the end very confusing. Other than that, I think that this movie is a real winner!

Summary: Hopefully the last board-game movie
Review: Dumb dud of a comedy based on a popular board game tries (in vain) to recapture some of the spirit of the Hercule Poirot/Agatha Christie movies. "Murder By Death" got their first, though, and is a thousand times funnier than this mistake. Amusing cast, though -- Tim Curry's butler is almost worth the price of admission. Released to theaters with a special "three endings" gimmick, which didn't make any difference since we all got to see them.

Summary: good but anyway it's only a short story
Review: i want to say that this movie is very funny and it works. the story is full of mistery and the ending is fantastic and very strange. but we are talkin' about a film that isn't nothing but a funny detective story and so i can't say it's the top... after watching it maybe u will want to watch it another time but it's always the same ... interesting. very good

Summary: Worst movie I ever loved
Review: The movie really isn't very good. The acting is pretty strained and the writing is pretty weak. Only one of the three different endings really makes any sense and fits the elements of the crime. Nevertheless, some of the lines were genuinly witty at times and Tim Curry easily comes off the best, not nearly as annoying as he is in some other films like the Three Musketeers.

I loved this film. I'm not real sure why, but I did. Give it a chance.

Summary: Flaaammes... down the side of my face....
Review: This is a great movie - some humor that adults will "get" but nothing too risque for the kids, entertaining when you just need a mindless escape, and still has enough twists and turns to keep you counting bodies (and Body') in every room. Tim Curry, the late Madeline Kahn, Martin Mull, Lesley Ann Warren... the casting is perfect!

Best scene? "He had threatened to kill me in public." "Why would he want to kill you in public?" "I think she meant he threatened, in public, to kill her." "Oh."

Summary: A Long Story Short (too late!)
Review: THE BEST! A great movie and cast. Based on the board game. But to make a long story short (too late!), see this movie. My favorite lines:

Mr. Green: So it was you. I was going to expose you. ? : I know, so I decided to expose myself. Col. Mustard: Please, there are ladies present.

SEE THIS MOVIE!

Summary: What makes clue such a classic comedy
Review: Comedy mischeif Murder and Mayhem are all Key elements that helped to make this film one of the most enjoyable movies based on a board game that i have seen (not that I really know of any others based on a board game :-) but the best none the less). I wasnt old enough to see it when it was in the theators but from what I have been told each theator had a one of the three different endings so thatway one person who saw it at one theator could not spoil the mystery for someone else who was going to see it at another theator. Though my favoirte ending is the third one (at least it was the third one played when it was on HBO) all of the endings help to make a great film and they are all included on this DVD. If you liked Tim Curey in The Rocky Horror Picture Show then you will love him in this. Its an all time classic comedy that I dont think anyone should miss seeing, and now you will be able to view it in its original format and splendor, Widescreen WHOOOHOOO!
