Rating: Summary: Great Girl Movie! Review: Clueless tells the story of a girl named Cher. Cher is the most popular girl at Beverly Hills High. Cher tries to do some good for everyone around her including hooking up some teachers at school (so she can raise her grades) , giving her new friend a makeover. Cher also tries to find the right kind of man when all there is at her school are slobs. When it comes to love Cher is clueless. She tries to do all of this while trying to get her diver license! This is a good movie!
Rating: Summary: The unsurpassed teen comedy Review: So what is the most influential film of the '90s? A good case could be made for "Clueless", a movie that does as much to encapsulate the age of Britney-era M-TV as, well, "Pulp Fiction" encapsulated the culture of 'ironic', grunge-era M-TV. Or you could compare it with the Heckerling-directed but Crowe-scripted "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" as a study in contrasts. "Clueless" is surely Heckerling's own darling child, a triumph of writing and direction that is obviously derived from Jane Austen's "Emma" without being derivative in any bad sense of the word. Shot in sassy, lollipop colors by Dick Pope, the film exudes an impossible sense of cheer as it navigates the social misfortunes and triumphs of our giddy heroine, Cher, played by Alicia Silverstone with a comic oomph that ensures her a place in film history regardless of how many flops she suffered since. For all of its of-the-moment trendiness (and though I realize the film is, as a certain demographic judges these things, "old" already, I have to give it snaps for maintaining its youthful feel) "Clueless" feels like some classic comedy of the '30s or '40s powdered up with Calvin Klein outfits and a pop soundtrack. It treats its sexual and social themes gently, with a classiness that hasn't been matched by even the best subsequent teen comedies. That's significant considering almost every teen comedy since has benefited from the format "Clueless" laid out. Its sweetly satiric tone, jazzy pace, and vivid colors can be seen in films as diverse as "Legally Blonde", "Josie and the Pussycats", and "Bring It On". Even neo-teen raunch flicks like "American Pie" probably owe their comparative sensitivity to "Clueless". It proved that the teen demographic would appreciate a film with style. The script, direction, performances, etc. all provide style in abundance. In the teen comedy genre, "Clueless" stands proud as its "Citizen Kane".
Rating: Summary: man, i feel old Review: i remember going to see this movie when it first came in theatres. not only that but i remember the previews coming on tv waiting for it to hit theatres. im not one for cheesy teen comedies other than the 80s flicks like 16 candles and pretty in pink but this movie is HILARIOUS.. its a slapstick comedy about a ditzy little rich girl named Cher from beverly hills and her best friend Dionne both loaded with cash from their rich daddys. Its a comedy spin off from the story Emma from what ive heard. Let me say that Cher is a really nice person. Shes ditzy and a bit of a manipulator but shes also got a heart of gold. she plays cupid to the people in her life that she thinks need "a good healthy Boink fest" as she puts it... Im not gonna tell anymore because its a great movie and if you havent seen it you should check it out. its great for a laugh. its also good for many different ages. id say anywhere from 13 and up. My mom loves this movie just as much as i do.
Rating: Summary: Very Good Light Hearted Comedy Review: This is a great movie to watch if you are in the mood for something that is not too serious. It is based off of the great classic Emma so you may wish to watch...or read Emma and draw comparisons. Individuals who enjoyed "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion" would likely enjoy this film as well.
Rating: Summary: Misled! Review: Someone told me that Alicia Silverstone did a surprising topless scene. She didn't. I was misinformed. Other from that, it was pretty funny. Someone told me that Nicole Kidman did a surprising topless scene in "The Hours" but now I am not so sure.
Rating: Summary: "Clueless" isn't a clueless movie Review: It must be so hard being pretty, rich and popular in Beverly Hills and that is exactly what Cher (Alicia Silverstone) talks to the audience about in this classic teen comedy. Silverstone portrayed Cher so perfectly (much better than the semi-look-alike for the TV show). Cher's life is perfect and then, things get a little more complicated: her "creation" (a younger Brittany Murphy) becomes a "monster",and starts to fall for her ex-stepbrother Josh (Paul Rudd). Then she gives herself a makeover...an inner makeover and starts to see things differently. Like most of these movies, everything turns out fine in the end, without being too predictable or stupid. Go see this (almost 10 years old but still amazingly modern) movie.
Rating: Summary: A cute little film Review: I originally saw this movie when it came out in 1995. I was 12 years old at the time, and I loved it. I wanted to dress and act just like the character Cher. I remember having tons of those fuzzy pens just because she used them in the movie. Back then, I didn't see or understand the underlying meaning and sarcasm behind the movie as I can now. This movie is so much deeper than most people think. Many people throw it off as "just another teen movie" or "another chick flick." Clueless is much more than that. It has true human feelings in it, unlike today's world of high school movies. I recommend this film to everyone. Even my husband liked it.
Rating: Summary: good Review: this is a good movie and alicia silverstone is good as cher.
Rating: Summary: great even for guys Review: who says guys can't enjoy a movie that essentially focuses on the trials and tribulations of teenage girls? The only catch is that the cast me good with acting to match (extremely hot chicks like Alicia Silverstone would do just fine) and the story line must be based on an original written by Jane Austen. Hence, as far as i am concerned Clueless is simply a masterpiece and a one in a million. You cannot get such a combination ever, ever, ever, ever...So no more confessions about watching girly movies and enjoying them from me...
Rating: Summary: Silverstone's finest hour Review: This film is extremely funny, witty and entertaining throughout. The acting is also outstanding and a thumbs up has to go to all involved especially Silverstone'.. I don't know what on earth happened to her after this, hence the title of my review'. She also looks extremely hot!!!!! Now that's one area where standards haven't dropped!!!!!!!!!!!
