Review: If ever there was a movie that captures all of the "Oh My God" moments of high school, this is it.

Summary: A CLASSIC 80S MOVIE
Review: I think i have seen this movie about fifty times now. It is one of the best comedies from the 80s, and reminds me of my own high school days. I totatlly identify with samantha baker, as being so geekily in love with some guy that doesn't know i exist. Alot of great classic lines, that myself and other people i know love to quote to this day, and a total laughfest. even today this movie is still great. It's got a totally awesome 80s' soundtrack and a great cast of colorful characters. if you are 30ish, and have never seen this movie, see it! it will give you memories of those old glory days' of high school.

Summary: Sixteen Candles-a classic
Review: Sixteen Candles is probably one of the best movies ever made. Molly Ringwald and the Brat Pack are some of the best actors and actresses. The humorous side of their personalities can solve any problem. I strongly reccommend this movie. It is easy to relate to Samantha in this movie because we all know what is was like to be a teenager and have to deal with these situations.

Summary: really great teen classic
Review: i just grew up watching this movie like every day. i don't know many people that haven't already seen it and i think every one should own it. it can relate to nearly every high school. i was molly ringwald, i had this huge crush on someone in high school and every time he would just simply say "hi" to me i would completely freak! it's really a great movie. farmer ted is so funny with how hard he tries to fit in. the only bad thing about this movie is i wish it were a little bit longer. its kinda short, but its still one of a kind and a MUST OWN! .

Summary: Good movie, bad quality DVD
Review: Sure, the movie is a classic among the John Hughes teenie bopper movies. But this DVD leaves nothing more than a bad quality picture and no special features what-so-ever.

Unless you HAVE to have the movie on DVD, stay clear of this one.

Summary: I wish they'd left the soundtrack alone...
Review: I have to agree with the reviewer who complained about the "butchered" soundtrack. I grew up with "Sixteen Candles" -- I've seen it so many times I practically know it by heart -- and the songs are as much a part of the movie as the dialogue. I wonder if someone forgot to get permission to use some of the songs when the original movie was released -- but that wouldn't explain the cheezed-up "muzak" version of the opening credit music. And why substitute "Strangers in the Night" for "New York, New York" as background music for the post-party conversation between Jake and The Geek? The replacement music, as a whole, seems thrown together -- the songs are obviously meant to sound "almost like" the originals but for anyone who really knows the movie "almost like" just doesn't cut it. The most awkward moment is when the family is leaving the house the morning of Ginny's wedding. In the original version of the film, David Bowie's "Young American" is playing in the background as the family piles into two cars. In this version, there is NO music playing -- the family enters the cars in silence. What used to be a funny, quick scene now seems agonizingly drawn out.

"Sixteen Candles" is still a great movie, of course, and I'm glad that I have it in my DVD collection. But I found myself cringing every time a song was changed -- I could barely concentrate on the diaglogue at times. (I don't know what I would have done if the Thompson Twins' "If you were here" was replaced at the end of the movie; thankfully, it wasn't.)

Summary: FARMER TED RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: This was one of the first teen movies I saw and I thought it was great. But the movie just wouldn't have been the same without Long Duk Dong or Farmer Ted. I would recommend it to any one who just wants to laugh.

Summary: AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME!
Review: This movie portrays the girl who may be lurking inside each one of us. The All-American girl who wants to be with the high school hunk, and who has parents who have a memory lapse once and a while especially on her 16th birthday, who is adored by the school nobody, and who wants to be given the best birthday ever. Definately don't pass this one up! You'll regret it!
