Review: American Pie is a great teen movie about 4 teenage boys on their quest to have sex before they graduate and they learn how hard it is and I reccommend this movie if you are a teen or a grown-up.This movie also has girls, 5 of them.One is Nadia, the Swedish girl that likes Jim (Jason Biggs) & there's Heather which is Oz's (Chris Kline) girlfriend & Vicky which is Kevin's (Thomas Ian Nicholas) and Michelle which is a band geak but likes Jim also.This unrated DVD is the same as the regular DVD so don't waist money and just buy the regular DVD or you can buy number's 1&2 unrated together for a price that's not to high.I think you should see this movie because it's funny and I guess you can learn something about sex and I hope this review is helpful.

Review: American Pie in one sentence is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. It's about 4 friends who have never had sex so in a pact, they all agree to lose their virginity by prom night. This movie was just funny as hell and I could not stop laughing! There are numerous hilarious scenes that will honest to God make you laugh until you almost pee on yourself. I won't lie, some people won't like this movie because let's face it yeah, there's just a lot of fart jokes in it and that there is a little bit of toilet humor. But other than that, it'll keep you laughing. Also, if you're going to get American Pie, don't forget to pick up American Pie 2 because that will keep you rolling. Enjoy!

Summary: turned off one hour into it
Review: I was advised by a friend who is in my age group (early 30s) that this is one of the funniest movies ever made. It isn't. I gave it as much of a chance that I could, but once it got to the scene where Nadia the exchange student is undressing on the webcam and pleasuring herself on that dude's bed my suspension of disbelief just couldn't hold out any longer and I shut it off. Look, you can have gross-out scenes and sophomoric sight gags in a comedy all you want so long as you balance it with some smarts in the script-writing. Too much barf and not enough bite. Pass.

Review: 1999's AMERICAN PIE, in some ways, reinvigorated the "teen comedy" genre , which was a lost cause. Mixing raunchy humor with a certain amount of "realism". The film is a winner. 4 high school friends make a pact, to lose their virginity, by prom night. Hapless Jim (Jason Biggs), Jock star "OZ" (Chris Klien), Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas), and ecentric Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) all use various tacticts to win the coveted prize... Directed by Paul Weitz, the film is, first and foremost, very funny. Suprisingly, the script by Adam Herz, balances the laughs, with an honesty, that you don't often find in films of this type. Another high point in the film is the casting. Everyone is quite good in their respective roles. The film has so many funny moments, it's hard to pick just one. Rest assured, if you have never seen the movie, you wont be disappointed with it. I admit to being duped by Universal. I traded my Collector's Edition Unrated AMERICAN PIE DVD for the Ultimate Edition 2 disc set. Disc One features the widescreen fornat of the film. Disc Two has the full frame version. Aside from having both formats on sepatate discs, the extras remain the same, with few exceptions (that's why I only give this release 4 stars), 95% of the extras here are available on the other discs. Still you can not go wrong with having a piece of PIE for dessert. Recommended

Review: "American Pie", directed in 1999 by Paul Weitz, tells the story of four male high school seniors on their quest to lose their virginity on prom night. Oz (Chris Klein), Jim (Jason Biggs), Finch (Eddy Kaye Thomas) and Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas) even go so far as to make a pact out of it, promising to help each other as they search for easy prom dates. While Oz finds a cute choir girl in Heather (Mena Suvari) and real love and affection, Kevin spends the last three weeks trying to win back his steady girlfriend Vicki (Tara Reid). Jim has a close encounter with an apple pie and a foreign exchange student before ending up with Michelle (Alyson Hannigan), a band geek who "this one time at band camp...."...Finally, Finch spreads untrue rumors about his "equipment" only to have it go to waste and end up with ... Overall, I actually enjoyed this movie, even considering its gross- out humor. This story is from an obvious male perspective, and many of the jokes are geared towards a more masculine humor. "American Pie" is about four guys trying to get laid, not the girls they "do it" with, and the movie reflects that fact. The most memorable funny scenes all have to do with male masturbation, usually involving Jim, and some object- a sock, an apple pie, whatever. Or an extra special "shot" in the beer cup. But you get the idea. Even so, I still laughed, and I liked watching the movie. The reason? The characters were likeable, almost sweet. Although the story has its gross moments, it's not a mean-spirited movie. The guys are all good at heart, and don't want to hurt anyone, they just want to get laid. It's like the guy you sit with at lunch who makes a huge mess and talks with food in his mouth and spits all over you, but he's still your friend and he's a nice kid. It's gross, but funny. Besides, watching becomes almost hypnotic in its grossness.
"American Pie" is not dated, but it addresses the subject of sex with a very carefree, humorous tone with little if any seriousness. That in itself, is realistic since many teenagers don't talk about sex seriously. Another one of the movie's biggest charms is the embarrassment factor- so many of the hilarious scenes involve embarrassment of some sort, often with Jim and his Dad (Eugene Levy). That type of embarrassment reaches across gender boundaries, and I squirmed in my seat with everyone else during the talks about sex and masturbation with Jim's Dad, especially the one involving the magazines. So many of the scenes are funny in their realism- many teens can relate to the characters embarrassment and gawkiness not only with their parents, and their partners, but with their bodies. The focus on Prom Night seemed a bit stereotypical though, at least, it wasn't like that in my high school.
The ability for teens to relate to the characters is part of the movie's appeal, and explains why as many teen girls as teen guys saw it when it came out in the theatre. It may not have transformed the audience, but it certainly entertains and enraptures. "American Pie" is not about to make a "Best Movie Ever" list, or win any great awards, but it made me laugh. I've watched it before, and I will certainly watch it again.

Review: American Pie, which was released in 1999, is a wonderful depiction of youth culture today. Four friends (Jim, Kevin, Finch, and Oz) have begun to feel the pressure from society to become "men." They make a pact to have sex before their high school graduation. Deciding that the prom is their best chance to score (since most teens feel that having sex is a part of the prom experience) they pick their dates and prepare for the big night. When prom night finally arrives, the teens decide that having sex doesn't define them. It won't make them "men" and it will not make an impact on their social lives.
While some aspects of the movie are unrealistic (ie. the pact itself) as a whole this is an accurate representation of teenage life. Young adults are constantly bombarded with images of sex and are told that it is for mature people. There is immense pressure to grow up fast, and kids now think that having sex is the way to do that. But American Pie sent a good message to them, showing them that yes, there is a sexual culture out there... but having sex completely your choice. Don't let society dictate your next move in life. The movie, even with its overwhelming use of sexual humor, uses old fashioned values to show the value and importance of sex.
I highly recommend this movie. I enjoyed it a lot. It is very entertaining and better than a lot of other teen films that I have seen. It has a wonderful cast (Jason Biggs, Chris Klein, Thomas Ian Nicholas, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Eugene Levy, Mena Suvari, etc...), excellent humor, and delivers a good message to the audience in a subtle way. You will get so wrapped up in the plot and the development of the story that the ending is a great surprise. After all of the crazy things that happen to the characters (the pie, Nadia, etc...), in the end you say "Oh yeah... but it's not THAT important..."

Review: This movie is just funny. This isn't some documentary on high school life, it's not a commentary on teenage sex, it had no message, it wasn't about morals, it wasn't trying to preach, it had no hidden agenda, and God Knows it wasn't about fighting or conforming to some preconceived notion of what kids are all about today. This is simply a comedy, and it's just funny. The internet scene is one of the most original around, and the laxative sequence will have you rolling. Yeah, it has it's gross moments, but this really is a much better movie than most people give credit. Get it.
