Summary: A one of a kind movie!
Review: This is not just a "teenage" movie full of obscene gestures and language. This is not just a chic flick full of romantic scenes that make your cheeks hot and make you wish you had a guy as swoon worthy as the actor. This is not just a comedy that makes you laugh until your side hurts. This is not just another Drew Barrymore movie. This is a masterpiece! Whether you're young or old there is something in this movie for everyone. Although it's fairly predictable with a title like "Never Been Kissed", it still has the moments that make you cry (i.e. the prom speech, the baseball mound), moments that make you laugh (i.e. the banana/condem/penguin scene, loser on the forehead), and moments that make you lapse into one of those far off dreamy looks where all you can think about is love (i.e. the ferris wheel, and the climatic ending). You truly cannot dislike the movie or plot. Sure it may be a little far fetched, have a few lame jokes, and predictable, but there's more to it. It teaches you a lesson that everyone needs to know and that is that being cool is being yourself. I cannot think of a better movie that shares the same moral.

Summary: Teenage angst
Review: I enjoyed this movie---Drew Barrymore is such a sweetheart. This is not a "typical" teenage movie such as She's All That. There's a scene where Drew goes to a rastafarian club that is funnier than you know what.

Summary: Funny, satiric and genuine
Review: Rarely do we get to see movies where are favorite movie stars look and purposely act less than perfect. Drew Barrymore accomplishes this quite gracefully without losing too much of the simplistic and often cliched story we've come to expect from any Hollywood production. I have to say Drew has come a long way. A very long way. She's triumphed over a lot of obstacles in her personal and professional life and it's comforting to see people whom we've seen at their worst transcend the expected to present something not-so-expected. As far as the story, simple, sometimes quirky, at times a bit drawn out but never boring. Much like the accomplishments of Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider and Jim Carey, Drew Barrymore has similar capabilities to become a great comedic and dramatic actress. She proved that in "Ever After" which in my opinion is one my best 100 movies of all time. She's cements that capability here in "Never Been Kissed." Buy the movie and enjoy-it's worth a hundred viewings and more!

Review: I luv this movie because the plot is really....well...like...CUTE! Also, I think Michael Vartan is really fine lookin! *sigh* he's got that look that just rox my world! lol! Well, ne ways...talking bout the movie! I think it was really good and i consider it ONE of my favs along w/, 10 Thing I Hate About You, and St. Elmo's Fire(don't laugh cuz i do like 80's movies for your info!), and Ferris Bueller's Day Off(another 80's chic flick movie!haha) Okay, I think i'm finished now!

Summary: It's very very funny!
Review: I've never thought of Drew Barrymore as a particulary good actress, but in this movie she proves me wrong, and plays a fantastic, charming and embarrasing character. I can't remember the last time a movie made me laugh so hard. You gotta see the scene where she goes wild at latin concert, it's 1st class comedy! An ordinary, but very watchable film!

Summary: More teen cliches
Review: Considering the number of 5 star reviews here, and the standard throwaway "Best movie I've ever seen in my life! " outbursts, I know not to rent a movie based on most of the stuff written here. In fairness, I'm sure alot the reviews here were written by teens, and I might have liked Never Been Kissed if I was a teen myself. But I'm in my late 20's now and seeing the same old teen cliches is tiresome. The dialogue in this movie was clunky, with rarely a funny sentence spoken by any of the characters. I've always liked Drew Barrymore, her sweetness comes across as genuine, and she was pretty likeable in this movie and fun to watch as well. But the intended message in this movie was this, if you're born ugly you're not worth a damn because did you notice how better-looking Drew became as the movie progressed? This coincided with her growing popularity with the other students. In real life, Drew isn't ugly, and neither was her outcasted "geeky" friend who was supposed to be unattractive as well. Other cliches: the young good-looking heartthrob teacher, the dumb jock, the three inseperable shallow bimbos who get what they deserve in the end (shocking), aren't these same three girls in every teen movie? The black guy with nothing but bad one-liners, and of course the embarrasing final scene where the "positive message" speech which is spooned down your throat like barium before a stomach x-ray. I happened to see Carrie on TV a few days after this, and it's shocking how much better that movie is. (similar elements but obviously more effective).

Summary: Charming
Review: For those of us sick to death of "romantic" movies based in a sometimes brutal reality, this film offers a much-needed respite. Will Josie be accepted by the popular kids? Will she be a successful journalist? Will her beloved return her affection? Well, what do _you_ think? :-)

Not many surprises here, just a lot of charm and warmth. Escapist filmaking at its finest. Watch this one when you need to be reminded that innocence, fun and idealism still exist.

Summary: Excellent start, excellent finish...perfect!
Review: THE STARS : Drew Barrymore from The Wedding Singer does a great job playing Josie Gellar,a reporter who wants to be cool and make a good article at the same time! David Arquette from Scream also does a great job playing Josie's sister. THE PLOT : Josie Gellar (Barrymore) was a high-school geek and still is! As she goes back to school with her brother (David Arquette) they both fall in love, have success......and Josie changes from been a geek to been the most successful journalist ever!
