Summary: Hideously stupid...
Review: Well I was stupid because I actually wanted to see this because I loved the first one so much. After suggesting the movie to my friends we went and saw it, and I have to say that I'm embarrassed that I recommended everyone to see it. The chocolate scene in the bathroom was completely stupid because it was just impossible to get that much chocolate out of one hershey bar. What a waste of time...

Summary: Good enough
Review: I hate it when people write negative reviews about movies, I think that they're overreacting a bit or they just don't know how to take something for what they're worth, either that or they're just trying to compare this to the original, I actually thought that this movie was good but not great and there's a funny cameo with Bob Saget and there's also a few other laugh out loud parts.

I would recommend this movie for those who are open minded or the ones who love watching slapstick movies, while this movie isn't half as good as the original but it's worthy for a few good laughs.

Summary: May be a sleeper hit
Review: Many folks are going to hate this movie with a passion, but they'll be the ones missing out. I fully expected Dumb and Dumberer to be a bomb, but man was I surprised. The guys playing Harry and Lloyd are not only perfect, but they've got a hilarious supporting cast as well.

Every member of the "Special Needs" class is quite a laugh. The scenes where they're all together had me rolling. Even the store clerk is a good laugh. Though, of course the stars of the show are Eric Christian Olsen as Lloyd Christmas and Derek Richardson as Harry Dunne. Playing a young Jeff Daniels and Jim Carrey in his prime is an insane challenge, but they pull it off flawlessly.

The only flaw in this otherwise hilarious movie is the entire Principal scamming money plot. Not only is it dull, but Cheri Oteri and Eugene Levy are absolutely horrible. Not one scene of theirs is even slightly funny. Cheri Oteri is just yet another SNL'er who's popular for no good reason. Thankfully they get very little screen time.

If not for the lame Principal plot and acting, this would be a five. Don't let that stop you though, everyone else in the film turns in a terrific performance. This is the most I've laughed at a movie in quite a long time; It's more than worthy of the Dumb and Dumber title.

Summary: C'MON - IT AIN'T THAT BAD
Review: Saw the movie last night - pulled in by trailer showing that "short bus" - to me, that's just d**n funny! However, the first few moments of the film I started to worry that the style was going to be in the vain of "Dude, where's my car?" A movie that I hated. I wanted the style to mimic the first one, sadly it doesn't.
No one expected this movie to equal the first. The dude that plays the Jim Carrey role does a good job - however, the Jeff Daniels (Harry) guy is weak despite having two of the funniest moments in the movie - 1 involving 6 ounces of chocolate magically melting into about 5 buckets full - the 2nd, a similar gag involving mud....both really funny.
The plot is weak and the brilliant Eugene Levy is wasted in the role of the principle. The look of the film has a marginal "B" quality to it.
Bottom Line: This movie is full of bad jokes, but there was just enough in it to make it okay - nothing more, nothing less.

Summary: Save Yourself
Review: Don't believe the hype or the adds. It's not funny, it's not interesting, and especially, it's not worth 6 bucks and 1 1/2 hours of anybodies time. Fans of the first movie will be deeply disapointed, it dosn't come close. The movie tries to be so stupid it really hurts. The jokes are poorly written and the the frequent attempts at comedy get old really fast. Save yourself.

The absense of Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels made the only similarity between the two films the names of the characters. The new actors try as they can, but no one can fill the shoes of Carrey and Daniels.

I'll admit, I laughed once (an scene with chocolate in the bathroom), but the rest of the movie insulted my intelligence, and pushed the limits on what you can call comedy. Please, stop the franchise or get Jim and Jeff back.

Summary: Pretty Bad
Review: It's hard to imagine that the filmakers thought this movie would be funny without the original stars of the first movie, Jeff Daniels & Jim Carrey. The actor who plays Carrey's part is, I admit, pretty close to the character but the actor replacing Daniel's part is nothing like him in my opinion. None of the jokes in the movie are funny, I think I chuckled ONCE the whole movie and I don't remember ANYONE laughing out loud during the movie! That's pretty bad when there are kids in the theater and none of them are laughing. Not even the kids I took laughed out loud like they did at "Finding Nemo." It was a surprise to see Bob Saget in the movie(who has a funny moment involving his bathroom after Harry uses it). I'm surprised this movie made it to the screen, I really am. I give it a ½ star for the actor who played Jim Carrey's part and that's about it.

Summary: The prequel, a classic.
Review: I'm a huge fan of the first movie and after seeing slating after slating in the press I resigned myself to being disappointed at this prequel. That was until I saw a 4 out of 5 star review in a Sunday publication. I decided to see it the following Monday. It's now wednesday and I'm still hurting from laughing. Although this was never going to compete with the original classic it just falls a little short. OK, no Carey or Daniels but the 2 new guys are excellent, especially the Carey replacement.
Obviously I don't want to ruin the movie for those of you who have still yet not seen it (shame on you) but there is gag after gag for the whole movie.
The "one call from your principal will sort that out" gag is the funniest I've seen in a long long time.
Go and see this movie. If you loved the first one you'll love this one. A good script doesn't need Carey or Daniels.

Summary: great movie but no comparison
Review: i actually watched the movie, unlike some of the other reviewers and i enjoyed it a lot, i was excitied to see it and i wasn't disapointed. There is no comparison to the first one but those are hard shoes to fill cause dumb and dumber was one of the top 10 funniest movies of all time.
