Rating: Summary: If you don't like it....Get Outta my FACE! Review: This film is outrageous: it is over the top in every single way, it pokes fun at minorities (and abuses their stereotypes), it has absolutely no value as a film study or an exercise in understanding satire and uses of irony and, overall, the film has no substance and the plot is irregularly defunct. But forget it! Get outta my face! Outta my face! It's extremely funny. There's absolutely no good reason I can give you to see this movie other than it's already a classic for a good reason. Sometimes you just have to give in. It's stupid but...would you rather watch the movies it parodies? Nope. Above all, Regina Hall is a comic genius! Her scene in the movie theater was worth the whole movie being made. She's basically the reason why there's four stars.
Rating: Summary: WHY?? Review: Is there any reason to enjoy this mindless, totally un-funny piece of rubbish? Is it perhaps the fact that you actually don't need a mind to appreciate its toilet humour? Is a fart really still that funny? Come on and grow up PLEASE!! In the same tasteless category as American Pie. Please don't bother!
Rating: Summary: Why I hate everything that's popular... Review: ...is because everything that's popular sucks. "Scary Movie" is proof that I just can't get in with the crowd. They'd like you to believe that if you're a teenager, and if you like "South Park," then you'll love this movie. But it's not true, because I am a teenager and I love "South Park" and all of my friends are teenagers and like "South Park" and they detested this movie as much as I. Do I need to say that this movie has no intelligence? I think it speaks for itself. It's practically advertised as "Free from thoughts that weigh down your mind!" I liked the Wayans brothers' other works, like "Don't Be A Menace," but there's just something totally different about "Scary Movie." It's just... different. And it's also not funny. There's a few good jokes here and there, like the black reporters who show up at the school after the first murder. But mostly, it's just gross-out gags that wish they could be as smart as they are on "South Park." Or, parodies of other movies that don't work out so well because they don't actually parody the movie. Like their "parody" of "The Matrix." It's more of a rip-off than a parody. A lot of people like this one, though. I guess it's because it really doesn't require much thought at all. I think that if you like "American Pie," you'll probably enjoy this one. If you hated "American Pie," you'll hate this one. That's the best I can do.
Rating: Summary: Extremely funny movie Review: This is with out a doubt one of the most funny movies out there. If you do not own this dvd you are either a male over 40 which if you are you probably own an old Clint Eastwood movie or a female over 40 which you probably have Steel Magnolia's. But if you are young then you should definately own this DVD. Very, very funny and unforgetable scenes.
Rating: Summary: clever spoof Review: A clever, no-holds-barred spoof on teen slasher films and soapies, SCARY MOVIE was a huge international hit, and no doubt will stay on the scene for a few years yet. From "Scream" to "Dawson's Creek", from "The Matrix" to "The Blair Witch Project", it's all here in this clever comedy from the Wayans brothers. Featuring an attractive young cast including Anna Faris, Shannon Elizabeth, Regina Hall and Carmen Electra, SCARY MOVIE covers all the cliches that populate all those mindless teen-horror films and delivers an equally-mindless (but far more entertaining) pastiche in which the story of "Scream" is re-told virtually scene-for-scene, but adds elements of the above-mentioned films, and even more! My personal favorite scene is the movie theater scene, with the fabulous Regina Hall. This scene is utterly priceless. The DVD also includes behind the scenes featurette, deleted scenes, photo gallery and theatrical trailer.
Rating: Summary: Absolutely Dire!!! Review: I love gross-out movies (There's Something About Mary, American Pie and all that), but this was horribly disappointing. The jokes were tired, and it had nothing new to say. How do you spoof a movie (Scream) which was already spoofing a genre? Answer: you can't. This film was a complete waste of time.
Rating: Summary: Disgustingly Funny Review: Raunchy and gross humor is quite popular these days. But "Scary Movie" tops it. Most of the actors in the movie were unknown until this film, but they continue to get dumb, unintelligent roles. See what this movie can do to your career? Anyway, the movie is very funny and I was laughing thtoughout the whole thing. However, I saw this movie with my mother. Never make that mistake! I'm not going to say anything bad about this movie, because it was quite good. But outrageous!

Rating: Summary: I still love this movie Review: I saw this movie in the theater when it first came out, and I loved it. And since I want to see the second one I rented this one to see it again. and it is still as good as I remember it to be, and I still rememberd half the movie. I say this is a must see movie.
Rating: Summary: It's scary how bad this movie is Review: When I first saw the previews for "Scary Movie" over a year ago, I couldn't wait to see it. I just now watched it on tv for the first time, and now I'm embarrassed to have wanted to see it so badly. Yep, it's THAT bad. "Scary Movie" is a parody of past horror giants such as "Scream," "I Know What You Did Last Summer," "Blair Witch Project," and a few others. Most of it revolves around the main character from "Scream" performing most of the parodies. There were only two parts in the movie that even made me grin. To really understand the jokes, you would have to remember the horror movies that "Scary Movie" depicted. I've seen and I remember all of them, and I understood the jokes, but they just weren't funny to me, they were closer to being mindless and stupid. There are other scenes and jokes that were just plain gross. I haven't seen "Scary Movie 2" yet, but after seeing this first movie in the series, it's hard for me to believe that they even made a sequel. I guess some people think parodies, or comedy spoofs like the ones in "Scary Movie" are funny, but I didn't. I couldn't wait to see "Scary Movie" at first, but now that I watched it, I would recommend skipping watching this one no matter how bad you want to see it.
