Summary: Three O'Clock High: A Five Star Sleeper
Review: This film, although largely ignored as part of the pantheon of eighties classics, is a sleeper which I consider to be one of my favorites of all time. From the moment that Jerry hits the alarm clock and Tangerine Dream simultaneously kicks off on the soundtrack, it's obvious that this film will be one to remember. I always smile when I think of Jer placing his wet shirt in the microwave along wth a poptart. He's a resourceful guy, and nothing's gonna get him down which also alludes to the conclusion of the film in which Jerry's wits and resourcefulness pull him through and ensure his victory. The portrayal of cliques and high school life is right on, even down to the actress that plays Jerry's dream girl. Who wouldn't want a girl like that? The only part at which Jerry disappointed me was when he rejected Karen in preference for the goth chick - she's cool and all, but Karen's ALL that!

Review: This is a good 80's movie. Its funny and really interesting. Its about this kid who gets in trouble with this bully by asking him for an interview for the school paper or something and the bully doesn't like it cause he has a bad temper. The bully says to meet him after school at 3:00 to fight, and the kid tries his hardest to get out of it. I love 80's movies, and this one is defeinitly on my list. I recommend it.

Summary: One of the best movies from the 80's
Review: This movie is one of my all-time favorite movies. And not just from the 80's as well. I've have been waiting patiently for this gem of a movie to come to DVD. And now I have finally been rewarded!!!:-) It couldn't have come at a better time, since my only copy on VHS tape is completly worn out. For those aspiring film makers out there, take joy!! This is the one movie that you will study over and over, learning all the cool camera moves and tricks. It's better to spend 15 Bucks on this instead of 50,000 on film school. Enjoy. You will not be disappointed in this movie. It never loses its charm. Chip

Review: This movie is very light and refreshing, like a cold can of Fresca. Keep your eyes open for a "cameo" by the dude who playes Skinner on X-Files.

Summary: Excellent. Superb. Outstanding and incredible!
Review: This movie portrays what many, many American males went through in high school. Being bullied. This movies not only puts to rest old demons that still sometimes haunt grown men when they think about high school (by seeing Jerry beat up the bully instead of the other way around), but it was so funny that I can't resist watching it whenever it is on cable! The crazy antics that occur in every high school in America (and abroad), are displayed by the nutty teachers, the rabid dogs that sometimes pass for school security guards, and the crazy girl that likes you for who you are so much that she wants to "bond" with you on a display table in the school store . It is excellent! I feel that a defining moment in the movie is when Jerry is in the bathroom, washing his face, deciding whether or not it was worth getting killed by standing up to the overgrown neanderthal, Buddy Rovell. Regardless of whether or not you like the movie, we are ALL overjoyed when Jerry decides to risk life and limb for personal honor! It is a fun movie, and I would suggest it to anyone.

Summary: High Noon at Three P.M.
Review: THREE O'CLOCK HIGH is a forgotten gem and one of the better high school teen movies from the 80's. Casey Siemaszko (BACK TO THE FUTURE, STAND BY ME) plays Jerry Mitchell who inadvertantly gets challenged to an after school fight with the new kid in school, Buddy Revell (Richard Tyson -KINDERGARTEN COP, BLACKHAWK DOWN). Buddy is mean, moody, huge, and probably has a questionable past. This happens practically at the beginning of the school day so the film focuses on Jerry's activites the rest of the day leading up to the time of the fight. He gets in all kinds of funny predicaments (at some of his classes, and at the student supply store which he runs and operates) trying to figure out how to get out of the fight. In the meantime the rest of the school finds out and want to be there (at the school parking lot). The audience is allowed to watch, along with Jerry, the school clock(s)and see his 'life' ticking away. There are many twists and turns involved including a scene where the two meet up again at a math class (actually sitting next to each other) and Jerry helps Buddy cheat on a math quiz. The film could have been predictable, but the fight does insue and it is handled with good direction, care and timing. The filmakers let Jerry hold his own against Buddy with a great and amusing payoff. Then, part of the ending is taken straight out of IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE. Genuinely, a smart movie with some interesting camera work, good production values, a good performance by Casey Siemaszko and a good supporting cast which includes veterans Jeffrey Tambor (AND JUSTICE FOR ALL) and John P. Ryan (THE RIGHT STUFF). Note: Look for Mitch Pileggi (Agent Skinner from the X-FILES) as the school security guard.

Review: Three O'Clock High is one of my ten favorite movies. It follows the story of Jerry Mitchell, played by Casey Siemaszko, as he is challenged to an after school fight by the new goon Buddy Revell, played by Richard Tyson. Jerry who is an otherwise good student tries many different stunts to get detention after school so he won't have to face Buddy. Three O'Clock High is a coming of age teenage 80s flick. It just happens to be the best one of that genre. The characters are much more than stereotypical stock characters (the jock, the nerd, the drop out). Jerry represents roughly 80 percent of the high school population of America. He has his clique and his after school activities and he just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. The duel in the parking lot after achool is a little anticlimatic; but, it can't ruin the trip on the way there. This is a movie that most people will be able to identify with.

Review: Three O'Clock High is the story of Jerry Mitchell who has been challenged to a fight after school by the new goon on the block, Buddy Revell. Jerry is just an ordinary high school student who has gotten the unenviable task of showing the new kid around the school. Jerry makes the mistake of touching Buddy who then challenges him to the fight after school. Jerry then tries everything he can think of to get detention after school so he won't have to face Buddy. This is where the real comedy of the movie lies. To see what is an otherwise perfect student attempt to get detention is actually quite funny. Jerry doesn't seem to know how to go about getting a detention so many of the stunts he pulls seem to fall in the realm of the near criminal. Jerry represents the majority of high school students. He has his circle of friends and his after school actvities and the main thing he wants is to make it through school without much conflict. The new kid in school destroys all hope of that happening. The ending is a little cliche. The middle part of the movie successfully overcomes it though. Three O'Clock High is definitely one of my top ten favorites of all time.

Review: To make one thing clear in front; THE BREAKFAST CLUB is one of those films I'll even love and won't get enough of, when I've even seen a thousand times! Because of its typical 80s-flair, and the great intense actings, it is for me one of the greatest films ever made!
Wouldn't there be THREE O`CLOCK HIGH - a laconic highschool-comedy-drama with a hilariously extravagant story and a standout in acting-qualities!
Casey Sziemasko has to match Richard Tyson in a fight he can't win! So he does anything to prevent the fight - funny, but also dramatic situations follow and in the end anything has to come how it had to come! GO WATCH IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

Summary: One Great Comedy
Review: Unfortunately, this film was buried under a mountain of non-promotional advertising b/c of Director Philip Joanau's (sp?) refusal to change its name from THREE O'CLOCK HIGH to BELLS RING AT THREE. The film production company felt the drug connotation of "getting high after school" was not the right message to send and ignored the obvious comparisons in the title to another stellar film about facing your greatest confrontation alone, HIGH NOON. Consequently, this film didn't have a chance at the box office. However, don't let such a little thing as a title fool you. THREE O'CLOCK HIGH is a wild energetic ride. Casey Siemasko (sp) does a brilliant job as the young kinda/sorta nerd upstart who finds himself watching the clock all day until three p.m. ... when circumstances of fate are requiring him to face-off with the brutish new-kid-in-school twice his size. This film is as much fun as John Hughes 'high school' films, but it never found an audience as it was simply never promoted. Accept it for what it's worth, and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.
