Summary: Just plain fun
Review: This video is simply put, F-U-N.
Val Kilmer overdoes his comedy routine a bit, but that's what makes this so fun. A man in the closet, a laser, "hotter than the sun" and old-school school pranks.

Summary: An 80s Movie That Just Begs To Be Watched Over and Over
Review: I am a huge movie buff. Growing up in the 80s has been a highlight of my life. I am so glad to have got to see such fine pieces of cinema such as this. I am only 25 but this has to be my favorite film of all time.

This movie is exactly what the 80s was about. Val Kilmer, Gabe Jarrett, and others are hilarious. Its cheesy but still retains its respect. Oddball humor and just plain fun. This movie has some of the best comedy lines. Just watch it and find out.

We all know what actor from this movie has had the most successful career but did you know that Gabe Jarrett "Mitch" has a brief part in Apollo 13. Boy was he buff in this! He plays one of the guys in the command center, just look for him. You won't miss him. His body has bulked up with muscle but his face is remarkably unchanged.

I think the other reviews speak for themselves. I would recommend all that love this movie write Sony. Columbia-TriStar own the rights to the film. If enough people bombard them, maybe they will listen and put this gem out on DVD.

Summary: a movie I'd stand in line for
Review: I my opinion Real Genius is one the best comedies of all time, probably my favorite movie made in the 80's. I own it on VHS and will probably have to buy another copy soon because I'm wearing it out, the sticker has already come off at least once. I'm not even a big movie buff and I rarely go out and buy a DVD the first day it is released, but this one I'd stand in line for.

Summary: It took a real genius to make this movie
Review: There is not a wasted statement or a wasted scene in the whole movie. My favorite two scenes are:
Jordan: "Are you peeing?"
Mitch: "Yeah."
Jordan: "Oh. I never sleep, I don't know why. I had a roommate, and I drove her nuts, I mean really nuts, they had to take her away in an ambulance and everything. But she's OK now but she had to transfer to an easier school, but I don't know if that had anything to do with being my fault. But listen, if you ever need to talk or you need help studying just let me know 'cause I'm just a couple doors down from you guys, and I never sleep, OK?"
Mitch: "Thanks. I will."
Jordan: "Are you done?"
Mitch: "I can't start."
Jordan: "Because I'm here?"
Mitch: "I think so."
Jordan: "Wierd. Well, I have to go."
Room Mitch: "Me too."
AND
Chris: "Was it a dream where you see yourself standing in sort of Sun God robes, on a pyramid, with a thousand naked women screaming and throwing little pickles at you?"
Mitch: "No."
Chris: "Why am I the only person that has that dream?"
After this movie everybody moved on to do more serious work.
Michelle Meyrink as Jordan Cochran goes on to be April Flowers in Nice Girls Don't Explode (1987) [only made nine movies]
Deborah Foreman as Susan Decker goes on to be Mary in Lobster Man from Mars (1989) [see my review]
Val Kilmer as Chris Knight earlier played Nick Rivers in Top Secret! (1984) [See my review]

Summary: what more could you want?
Review: Lasers, a government conspiracy, an indoor beach party, a crazy guy who lives in the closet, fake ids, hilariously clever pranks, an evil professor, wacky inventions, popcorn... what more could you want in a comedy film?
Seriously, this movie is a genuine classic of 1980s teen comedy, enough so that I impulse-bought it on the basis of a very dim memory of having watched it at a party once, long ago. I have never once come close to regretting the purchase.
Underappreciated and generally regarded as a cult classic among brainy sorts, this movie is the story of a bunch of college geniuses who, upon discovering that their professor intends to turn their physics project over to the military to be used for EVIL, plot hilarious revenge. If you're looking for intelligent satire, look elsewhere, but if you want college-film laughs, impeccably-delivered one-liners, and a very, very funny Val Kilmer (seriously, I had no idea he was capable of being so incredibly funny) in the days before he became a big star, look no further.
I've always wanted to bring the tape in to my high school physics teacher and ask him if any of the science holds up.
