Summary: Excellent!
Review: This early Val Kilmer movie shows a most hilarious side of the star. Anyone who is a Val fan MUST own this movie! I can't stop laughing when I watch this movie. Its dry and often perverted sense of humor will have anyone rolling on the floor. You have GOT to see this movie!

Summary: Hilarious, and HOT star (Val Kilmer)!
Review: This was one of my favorite movies! Of course, anything starring Val Kilmer is, but in fact this was one of my favorite Val movies. He has such an innocence about him, not to mention his baby face! Swoon!! I love the humor, but don't plan on showing this to kids any younger than 12 or 13, because of the nature of most of the humor in the movie. I liked the scene when...well, to be honest, I loved just about all the scenes, but especially the one where Chris is wherever it is that he saws off that slice of liquid nitrogen, and as he walks in to that scene, his hair is all sticking straight up, and he's wearing those penguin slippers. I love this movie!! There are so many great quotes, but that's just an added bonus...Val is the best actor! By the way, Amazon.com people, "flipping two quarters over his fingers" can also be called "fingerwalking"...comes from this website's "Valcabulary"...the address of the main page is...well I can't type the URL if I want this review posted but do a web search for Planet Kilmer. anyway, I'll shut up now.

Summary: Great Show! Classic sharp, loud humor.
Review: Really Good show. 'Intelligent' humor, fast-paced comedy with believable characters. Kilmer at his best. Supports all the rest of the cast very well.

Summary: My Favorite Movie
Review: This is the first movie that I ever bought. I saw it late one night on tv, and had to have it. I loved the humor. Who couldn't love a movie where a mysterious guy is living in the closet?

Summary: Totally funny!!!
Review: All I have to say is that this movie is too funny. I love 80's flicks. And iI love Val, too!

Summary: This movie is the feel-good techie movie of the last decade
Review: In terms of techie movies out there (Sneakers, Hackers, & Real Genius) Real Genius is by far the funniest.

Val Kilmer plays the roll of an off the wall genius specializing in laser theory and developement. I had to order another copy of Real Genius because I wore my first copy out.

Great quote from the movie: "What is it?" "I don't know I found it in one of the chemistry labs?"

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of the best movies I have ever seen
Review: This movie was so incredibly well done, and the actors were fabulous, and Val Kilmer is soooooooooooooooo hot.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: funniest film i ever saw
Review: I tell you, this is a great film!
Val Kilmer plays Chris Knight, one of a number of Genius' at Pacific Tech.
The Professor, Jerry Hathaway, has just recruited a 15 yr old genius to the college, named Mitch.
Jerry asks Chris to help Mitch fit in at Pacific Tech. Jerry has recruited young Mitch for ulterior motives. He wants to use his little group of genius' to create a Laser Targeting System that can wipe people out from space. Of course he keeps this from the students. When they find out - revenge is sweet!

This is a funny, funny film. There is some penis-humour if you want to shield that from your kids!
I tried to think of one of my numerous favourite quotes that wasn't even slightly rude.

Jerry - "Do you still run?"
Chris - "Only when chased." END

Summary: Lasing a stick of dynamite!
Review: This is one of those movies that stays fun no matter how many times you see it year after year. Val Kilmer had made a couple of movies before this one, but this was his breakout role as the genius Chris Knight - a senior in college working on a project for his professor that he is largely indifferent to completing. Along comes the underage freshman, Mitch Taylor (wonderfully played by Gabriel Jarrett), who has been recruited to help finish the project.

The movie is really about Mitch finding his way in a high-pressure college situation. He endures Kent, the jerk that tortures him and who works in the same lab. Kent is not untalented, but not a genius like Chris or Mitch and resents the favoritism genius claims. Kent tries to get attention by sucking up to Prof. Hathaway (brilliantly played in all his corruption by William Atherton), but never gets what he is seeking.

As just one minor example of the riches in this movie is the scene when Mitch is going to a packed math class. Soon people start bringing small tape recorders to class and not attending. Mitch is one of the few actually listening to the prof. Finally, Mitch is the only one in the class, even the prof becomes a reel-to-reel tape player with a sign attached that says encourages the students to listen carefully. While changes in technology would make that scene impossible today, it is still wonderfully effective.

Mitch also meets Jordan, a girl who is so hyperactive she doesn't sleep, finds time to invent things as well as resurface the floor in her dorm room. Jordan is magnificently played by Michelle Myrink and is one of those characters you wish you knew in real life as a friend. Although, frankly, Jordan would be exhausting to know. But her intelligence, innocence and kindness would more than compensate for the energy you would have to expend keeping up with her.

The movie is populated with wonderful characters of all sorts. The plot is hung on a very 80s theme, but that's OK, the final scene draws it all together in spectacular and funny way.

A classic.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: VERY funny movie
Review: It's a shame Val Kilmer doesn't do more comedies. He was great in this (and in Top Secret.) If you're a Val fan and haven't seen this, do yourself a favor and see it.

If you're not a Val fan...see it anyway. It's a riot.
