Summary: It's The Ramones' "A Hard Day's Night'
Review: Loud, frantic, and very funny, I remember loving this movie intensely from the first time I saw it at the Calvin Theatre in Dearborn, MI where my dad only paid a buck for each of us to see it on a double bill with "Battle Beyond the Stars". I had never seen the Ramones before (I would go on to see them live 6 times after) and I recall, with a sense of pride, how my mom chose to walk out on the movie and wait in the car, whilst my dad (who bought the tickets) stayed and enjoyed the film with my sister and myself. I think it was either the exploding mice or just The Ramones themselves that did it for her. P.J. Soles never had a better vehicle for her talents than this film (notable appearances in "Stripes", "Halloween", and "Carrie" notwithstanding) and I'd extend the same to Ron Howard's brother and Dick Van Patten's son just the same. Mary Woronov and Paul Bartel established definatively here their "indie-cred", after a decade of consistently intriguing work, and it's a pity you kids don't know them better. Also nice, as always, to see Dick Miller (Don't bother, junior). The pace is frantic, it could have been a good bit more raunchy (rated PG go figure), but what ultimately comes thru is a rock 'n' roll CLASSIC. The total anarchy that accompanys the final title song will live with me forever. Gabba gabba hey!

Summary: A Movie that pioneered the teen movies of the 1980's.
Review: I love watching this movie anytime I feel like watching something that is purely funny and simply entertaining. It would be viewed as a B-grade movie, which in all repects is the style of it's director Roger Corman. Rock'n'Roll High School is not a movie to wow you or even thought provoke you. It is a movie to be enjoyed as it is and to make you feel perky when you are feeling blue or bored with school. Must I mention that Joey Ramone is very sexy in this film? I love the Ramones and I love listening to "Teenage Lobotomy, Pinhead, and Rock'n'Roll High School." The movie is humble in it's premise and sweet as a teenage comedy. Also, it is one of the few movies where you get to see a female nerd act heroic. Cheers! Rebbecca McGarity

Summary: RAMONES leave home...detention! detention!...
Review: Rock 'n Roll highschool... searched for it for years and found it finally in a city called New York or something. The best movie ever made for die-hard RAMONES fans, not for those who just know the song R&R Highschool from the charts of 1980 'cause they're not "in the pit". They'll just don't understand the fun and excitement a true RAMONES fan will get by seeing Dee Dee eating pizza or Joey eating vegetables. But like I said... great movie for 'animal boys and girls'.

Summary: A Rock & Roll Classic!
Review: Rock & Roll High School is one of the greatest rock and roll movies ever made. PJ Soles is great! As are the Ramones and everyone else in this classic! Great music, campy humor, Ron Howard's little brother - what more could you ask for?

Summary: FINALLY, A RESPECTABLE COPY OF R-N-R HIGH SCHOOL!
Review: I HAVE A COPY OF THIS MOVIE ON VHS THAT CAME OUT IN THE EARLY 80'S AND EVEN WHEN IT WAS NEW, IT STILL LOOKED WASHED OUT AND SOUNDED MUDDY. THIS NEW DIGITALLY REMASTERED VERSION LOOKS AND SOUND TERRIFIC. IF YOU ARE A FAN OF THE RAMONES, OR EVEN JUST THE MOVIE, YOU WILL BE THRILLED WITH ALL OF THE VERY COOL EXTRAS THAT HAVE BEEN ADDED. IF YOU ARE A TRUE RAMONES FAN, LIKE MYSELF, THEN YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF TO GET A COPY OF THIS DVD!

Summary: Weird rock and roll meets the weird rock flick. A B-classic!
Review: Sincerely wishing now that I'd purchased the old, clam-shell VHS copy of "Rock 'n Roll High School" for $5, at the video store I worked at that went outta business-now that I know the VHS-version is currently out of print!! Fine B-film, awkward but cult-cool, and with the Ramones of course you can't go wrong. P.J. Soles pulls it off as the semi-obsessive, eccentricly-rebellious groupie gal Riff Randall. The storyline is hocus, surreal and defintely worth at least one viewing. Nice soundtrack compliment "R&R High School" overall, and who can't help hating Dr. Vader?! Hope to see it on VHS again!! Check this one out.
