Summary: This is the FUNNIEST Movie!!
Review: This movie is the funniest out of all comedy movies. It is funnier than American Pie (2), Road Trip, any other movie. It is a lot better than Animal House, by far. There are a lot of boring parts in Animal House especially the ending which is really boring, but in Van Wilder there are absolutely no boring parts. And every scene is hilarious. Rent or/and buy this movie, cause if you don't then you are missing funniest movie of all time.

Summary: A Great Flick
Review: I saw this flick the first day it was out in theaters and I was expecting a great film. The last National lampoons flick I saw before this was Christmas vacation and this almost rivals it. With a tremendously gross scene that involves a dog and great acting by Ryan Reynolds made this a classic in my book. I recommend this to anybody who loves college comedy flicks like Animal House and Dead Man on Campus.

Summary: It Felt Great To Laugh Freely Once Again
Review: National Lampoon's Van Wilder is an absolutely Hillarious movie. It was so refreshing to see a movie where you can laugh freely once again without having to worry about whether or not what you're laughing at is Politically Correct or not. Who Cares, it's just a movie for Gosh Sakes, if it's funny, LAUGH! Ryan Reynolds is very charasmatic as Van Wilder, who is a College Campus Party Liason, who would rather party than study, until he's forced to, and then he shows that he can be serious when he has to. Kal Penn as Taj, Van's personal assistant, is hillarious, a job well done, and Tara Reid as Gwen Pearson, a student reporter who at first does a hatchet job story on Van, but then has the decency to print a follow up, much more researched truthful story on Van, something a lot of real life media members should have done long ago with regards to stories they've written on certain celebrities, especially, Tara Reid herself, who for some unknown and totally unfair reason has been designated as a media scratching post. She does a very good job in the film, especially considering what she had to work with, and the fact that she basically had to portray the "straight man" to everyone elses comedic performances. Her on screen presence, as usual is captivating. The eclair scene (when you see it, you'll know what I'm talking about), is very gross, it's extremely funny the very first time you see it, but every time I've watched it since, it truly is disgusting. But that's only one scene. All in all it's an absolutely hillarious movie, fine performances all around, and had it been any other actress, especially a "Hollywood Favourite", other than Tara Reid, they couldn't have portrayed the role of Gwen Pearson any better... Anyways, for a good laugh, and just to be able to forget about the hardships or trials and tribulations of the everyday rat race, just for an hour and a half or so, see this movie.

Summary: Perfect College Movie of All Time!!!!!!!
Review: I saw this movie, "National Lampoon's Van Wilder" the Spring semester of my Senior year in college. I can't think of a more perfect, funny movie to celebrate my graduation with. The movie was absolutely hilarious, it had original jokes, great talent and beautiful women (I LOVE YOU TARA REID!!) The guy who played Van, Ryan Reynolds, has great comic timing and was extremely funny playing the lead role. I also thought his assistant Taj, stole the show on numerous occasions. My favorite scene is the one where Taj interviews for the job as Van's assistant. The supporting cast in this movie was genious also (the principal from breakfast club, the guy who played Booger on Revenge of the Nerds, the guy who played the Sherminator in the American Pie movies). There was many original jokes in the movie also (ie. Van throws a party in the Hillel :-)
The unrated edition should be absolutely nuts and this is the number one DVD i want to own. Any fan of comedy and/or college comedies in particular should buy this DVD as soon as it comes out. You won't be sorry.

Summary: Not in Animal House's league, but worth watching...
Review: The guys at National Lampoon couldn't have picked a better person than Ryan Reynolds to fill the role of Van Wilder. Van Wilder's the man in college we all dreamed of being. He's a modern day college version of Ferris Bueller.

The movie lives up to the National Lampoon standard. It has all the laughs and witty lines you would normally come to expect from a National Lampoon series flick. The predictability isn't as horrid as many of the modern day teen comedy films (Tomcats, American Pie, etc) and isn't quite as low brow as the Scary Movie series.

Definately not a movie to watch with your teens or kids, though.

Overall a funny movie and worth watching. Not to mention worth having for the DVD Collection...

Summary: Cult Classic? No. Must see comedy? Yes.
Review: When I saw this movie in the theaters I went in knowing I was about to see a good comedy. I knew this because the movie in some reviews had received Zero out of Five stars by some critics.

To my knowledge good comedies usually don't receive high ratings as they aren't motion picture master pieces, they are movies to simply make your laugh for an hour and a half and nothing more. A good comedy makes you laugh an hour later when you think about a certain scene. National Lampoon's Van Wilder does just that.

In my opinion BUY this movie for some good gruesome comedy. Yes this movie isn't to be viewed or liked by all, there's a reason why it was rated R, and thankfully they will be releasing an Un-rated version for the DVD.

Enjoy

Summary: Oh my!!!
Review: Van Wilder is probably one of the funniest "national lampoon" movies ive seen since "Christmas Vacation". I will say this much about this flick; it has the most vile and sickening scene of revenge I've EVER seen in any movie...ever. I've seen many of violent, gross-out flicks, but this one scene, which im not going to spoil it for you, takes the cake on anything else I've ever seen. It was worth the price of the movie alone. When this movie comes out on DVD, ill own it, guaranteed. Alot of people might not enjoy this movie, because of the somewhat bad dialogue, and the fact that Tara Reid cant act her way out of a wet paper bag, but it really was a very funny and enjoyable flick...check it out!!!

Summary: Van Wilder is just that!
Review: Van Wilder has an "Animal House"esque feel to it! People have compared it to AMERICAN Pie, however, we're dealing with a totally different "Animal" here! The movie is an ingenious combination of "Back to School","Animal House""caddy Shack","Saturday Night Fever", and "Dirty Dancing"all rolled into one supercilious (emphasis on the sillyous) use of 2 hours of your entertainment dollar. Was the popcorn and coke under $10.00 and was the ticket at or near $7.50? If so,then you spent about the right amount for this comedy hybrid! You must ask yourself- Did you laugh long and hard? If so, then the endorphins created within your own mind were worth the price! I can only hope that a sequel will spring forth from this oasis of laughter. I'll be the first in line to bask in its multi facetted comedic splendor!!

Summary: "Wilder" Is Lame
Review: I'm really suprised to see the reaction this film is getting from the American public. It seems they have a positive feeling towards it. And, I just can't understand why!
"Van Wilder" directed by Walt Becker, seems to have a "made for video" feel to it. Like many of the National Lampoon films of late, this one should of stayed off the big screen. It doesn't seem complete.
As I walked into this movie I knew it wasn't going to be any good. But, I thought it would be a "guy's movie" so a friend and I went to see it. At most I was expecting to laugh a little bit and have a remotely good time. But, there are no big laughs in this movie. The audience I saw this with didn't laugh anymore than I did. "Van Wilder" is sorta stuck in the middle. I don't want to be hard on the movie and really bash it, but, then again, I don't want to praise the film either. It's not worthy of such attention.
The ONLY real strong points to this film were the cast. We like Van Wilder (Ryan Reynolds) and Gwen (Tara Reid) too much. And it's not just the characters we like, but, they themselves seem to grow on us. When in a scene together there's not much chemistry but, when in their own scene Reynolds & Reid have enough charm to them to carry the movie, somewhat.
What this script really needed were more big laughs. If it would of had that, then I would probably recommend this movie. This movie isn't half as good as say, "American Pie 2" which came out last summer. The "American Pie" films had something this film doesn't. Interesting characters, lots of laughs, and believe it or not, but, those films had charm to them. It's only because we liked those characters in "Pie" that we enjoyed the movies so much. "Van Wilder" is not as fortunate.
If people really want to see this film, here's what I suggest. This is really for the younger crowds, even though perhaps some of them may not have ever seen a "National Lampoons" film. Older people may get a nostaligic notion about this film and think "Hey, I remember "National Lampoons"! They had Chevy Chase and John Belushi in them!" Don't be fooled. Just stay away and go watch "Panic Room" again lol. * 1\2 out of *****
Bottom-line: "Van Wilder" just doesn't seem like a "big screen" movie. The jokes are lame and predictable, and like you may have guess, pretty gross. No big laughs! But, some charm.

Summary: Good or not?
Review: Good or not? That is the question. Well, I think this movi was smashing. Funny, somewhat exciting. In my opinion, this movie is five stars and two thumbs up. This movies makes me want to see it over and over again... This is my opinion.
