Summary: awesome!
Review: The way the original Shakespaerean dialogues are seamlessly combined with some of the funniest lines I've ever heard is amazing. The characters and plot are very well developed, and this in a genre that is not known for that (teen films).

Summary: 10 things I hate about 10 Things I Hate About You...
Review: Well, not 10, maybe just a few things...

What's with the recycled script? How many times have we seen the "bet" love story? Hmm... Cruel Intentions all over again for the zillionth time... it's so contrived and predictable.

"I got paid to take her out, but I ended up falling for her..." WOW!!!! Something new and exciting.

Ah well, least the cast was good enough to do something with the lame script. Decent pacing... Some of the dialogue is clever and funny too...

All-in-all, it's not terrible. Better than 98% of all teenybopper movies nowadays. Just needed a better *laughs* "plot".

Summary: Better than the average teen movie
Review: "10 Things I Hate About You" is one of maybe two or three films that rises to the top of the heap in that whole fad back in the late '90s of taking classic novels and plays and adapting them into teen movies.

You know all the basics: based on "Taming of the Shrew", Julia Stiles, Heath Ledger, yadda yadda yadda. What makes "10 Things" rise above its more drecky cousins ("Cruel Intentions", "Drive Me Crazy", and anything -- whether based on classic literature or not -- that had Freddie Prinze, Jr. within 50 yards of it) is the fact that this film came with a well-written script, and the director and producers put actors in who could handle the comedy. In addition to Julia Stiles, major kudos go out to Darryl "Chill" Mitchell (the wise-cracking English teacher) and Allison Janney (the erotica-writing guidance counselor) for their performances.

Definitely one to add to the collection, even if it's as a guilty pleasure.

Summary: Above Average "teen" Flick
Review: Well I went to this movie not sure what I'd be seeing, but it was actually pretty good, this is probably due to the fact that it was based on Shakespere rather than written from scratch. As such it is pretty much required to have more depth of character and plot than your average "teen" flick.
To be honest, what I liked best was that it was filmed at Stadium High School (which passes for Padua High in the movie) in Tacoma WA near where I live and the shots of the school etc are great (it looks like a castle).
But I digress, I do recommend this movie and NOT just for teen girls, but for anyone who's looking for a basically light-hearted story of love and betrayal and more.

Summary: The taming of Julia Stiles.
Review: "10 Things I Hate About You" is probably smarter than it has any right to be, and it's occasionally very funny. The cast is filled with winning actors, some of whom later when on to become big movie stars, and the movie plays nicely on its Shakespearean origins.

Regarding teen movies, isn't it funny how they're often better when they're based upon classic source material? I mean, this one, based upon "Taming of the Shrew," is top-shelf entertainment, and "Clueless," based on Jane Austen's "Emma," is a terrific, witty movie. And the movie "O," based upon "Othello" and featuring Julia Stiles, is an amazing, bleak drama.

Speaking of Stiles, she's a terrific actress, and she's the best thing about this movie.

Summary: Not To Be Missed
Review: I generally am not a big fan of "teen" movies, but this one is great. It has a great story line, lots of humor, and a steady pace that keeps you involved. This is definately a not to be missed movie. Great fun for any age.

Summary: Another great teen flick
Review: Ten things I hate about you it's a great movie and it has a nice way of showing how us girls feel about guys. That's all I have to say about it.

Summary: Great little date movie
Review: Total teenie chick flick movie, but as a guy I found it surprisingly very fun to watch. This one proudly goes in my DVD collection and is definitely a must watch.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Best of Genre
Review: This is quite simply the best Teenie Bopper movie of the 90s. It captures the soul, excitement, angst of being a teen without taking itself too serious or insulting your intelligence. What's more, it actually has a plot. Rent this, Jossie and the Pussycats, and Drive Me Crazy for a great night of teenage nonsense and fun!

Summary: Great Movie
Review: This is a great movie. It doesnot have the same story line as other teen flics, like most of them do. This is because it is a modernized version of Shakespear's "Taming of The Shrew." I never get tired of it. Most movies these days are ok, but you wouldn't see twice, ya know. This movie isn't like that I could watch it over and over and never get tired of it. And even if you don't like the movie, you chics out there can stare at Heath Ledger the whole movie, cause he is SOOOOOOO HOT!
