Summary: SHRUG.
Review: 1) Not bad. 2) Not as simpleminded as a Jennifer Love Huey Duey flick. 3) Cute 3rd Rock From The Sun casting. 4) Julia Stiles is very hot. 5) "Seinfeld's" evil-doorman was pretty funny as the dad. 6) Julia Stiles has a nice voice. 7) Some parts were unrealistic-the detention scene and the I LOVE YOU BABY rendition. 8) Julia Stiles has nice hair. 9) For a teen-flick it was no FAST TIMES or PORKY's, but it will kill 100 minutes of your life without too much regret. 10) Julia Stiles is cool.

Summary: Surpringly funny and well-acted teen comedy
Review: Of all the teen comedies that came out in 1999 (and there were many), this is easily the best written and acted. Taking its main plot from Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew," the storyline is nothing new. Neither does it have anything truly remarkable to say about the plight of teenagers at the end of the century. But then, not all movies have to have a message. Passing on entertainment value alone, which this one does winningly, can often be enough.

The cast is very likable, from the leads through several of the supporting players (comedian Larry Miller gives a splendidly dry performance), and the script is funny enough to keep one's attention throughout.

It's no "Fasttimes At Ridgemont High," or even "Clueless," but then, it doesn't make itself out to be. It's a fun film with a storyline that's lasted from Elizabethean times.

Summary: Very predictable!
Review: It was okay when I first saw it in the theater but now that I rented it on video it started to suck. This wasn't a very good movie at all. It did have very good acting though but this is one of those movies that a 12 year old would watch over and over again. Don't waste your time on this movie it sucks.

Summary: Stellar Movie, Stellar DVD
Review: "Why should I live up to other people's expectations instead of my own?" Those are the words of Kat Stratford, the center of a good movie that means far more than comedy. This movie is a gem, and the DVD well accomodates it. This movie has the perfect blend of comedy and emotion under the rule of Shakespeare, minus the fancy language. This movie simplifies Shakespeare majorly for makeup-wearing, boy-crazy, hair-dyeing, N'Sync-loving 90's teens, but doesn't stray far, for people who obsess over every Monday detail. And it's all combined with plenty of laughs, a star-studded cast, excellent moral values, dramatic elements for the drama-loving, romance for the romance-loving, and an excellent soundtrack. And the bloopers at the end top the cherry on the sundae. So this movie is for every movie goer, no matter what age. And the DVD is of excellent shape, too. The picture quality is in top shape, the trailer is included, and I don't have Dolby Digital surround sound, so I wouldn't know what you mean by bad sound. But I can promise you if you're a simpleton, this DVD will work wonders for you. But it's funny, this DVD was processed like any other Buena Vista DVD that has OK sound, so I don't see why people say the sound on this DVD is bad, but it's great if you just have a TV and DVD player.

So in other words, you've GOT to get this DVD. No matter WHAT your movie taste is, and whatever your age is, you WILL love this movie. If you're a teen, you'll love it. If you're an adult, you'll love it. If you love comedy, you'll love it. If you love great music and great stars, you'll love it. And if you're crazy about drama or romance, you'll love it too. And this DVD couldn't be more simple, so this DVD is perfectly suited for the handyman. So get this DVD! The money's well spent! Trust me on that!

Summary: Buy it! You're not wasting your money!
Review: I saw this movie in the theaters the first weekend it came out, and loved it. Being a typical, trend-following 15 year old, I would probably have liked this movie no matter how atrocious the acting, as long as it featured good looking, hot young actors. But strangely enough, I think this movie was good enough to even enjoy if I were older. The similarity to 'Taming of the Shrew' is definitely there, with totally modernized characters. Kat, Bianca, Cameron, Patrick, and Joey all have an appeal to them that is irresistible. Kat's attitude is the greatest, and Bianca's charm is downright cute, whether you tend to love those perfect girls or not. Even Chastity("...neat!") is in her own as a necessary character. The characters and plot are engrossing, and the script is hilarious. I would especially recommend this movie for viewers about my age who love mainstream teen flicks. This could also be considered a 'chick flick', but I personally think all teen guys would love it too, especially if they watched it with their girlfriend...even if they won't admit it.

Summary: Universally Entertaining
Review: This film combines an American teen movie with Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew and it creates a wonderful piece of work. Basic plotline: Bianca want to start dating Joey, but she's not allowed to until her sister starts dating. Her sister Kat (played by Julia Stiles) has no intention of doing so. Cameron wants to date Bianca, so he has to find someone brave and persistant enough to take out Kat for financial gain, enter Patrick Verona.(Sexy Heath Ledger) This film is smashing, great for an evenings fun entertainment, with very interesting and unusual characters. I especially like the bizarre habits of the teachers. It has an excellent soundtrack featuring Letters from Cleo and the Cardigans amongst others. The really nice thing about this film is that everyone should enjoy it. A definite must buy(I already own it); enough said.

Summary: Great Movie
Review: This is a great movie, even if you don't like the teen genre film. In this update of Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew", Patrick is paid to take Kat on date, so Cameron can take her sister out. The problem is that Kat finds out, after Patrick has fallen in love with her. This is full of comedy and romance, and a must see for anyone who loves a good laugh.

Summary: A good movie
Review: Expecting to see a stupid, cheesy, twelve year old kind of movie, I was actually surprised at how good it was. Yes of course there was the cheesyness of it, but its defintely worth seeing. There are some gorgeous girls and some fine guys in it! Plus its pretty funny.
