Summary: A Classic!!!!!!!
Review: There really isn't much to say about this movie that hasn't been said already. It is s fun romp through college life in the 60's. If you like slapstick and gross out humor watch this film, this is where American Pie and the like got it's start. A great classic and one of the best Lampoon movies.

Summary: A Great Comedy
Review: This movie is a timeless hit that can be viewed over and over again. The movie takes place in a college campus. Their is a "battle" between too fraternities. One that is fairly poor and unorganized, and another, which is very serious. The movies actors are hilarious. The comedy may be somewhat twisted but it is still hilarious. If you haven't seen this movie buy IT!!

Summary: Animal House: a review
Review: National Lampoon's animal house is the all-time classic college movie. Other college movies like 'road trip' and 'revenge of the nerds' just don't come close to this comedic masterpiece.
The movie is stolen by John Belushi who plays the beer-guzzling John 'bluto' blutarski, sergent-at-arms of the infamous 'Delta tau chi' fraternity. The Deltas do several pranks during the movie, including stealing the answers for a test, looting the supermarket, and throwing a roman toga party. TOGA!!
In one of my favorite scenes in the movie, Bluto stuffs mashed potatoes in his mouth and slaps his cheeks, spewing potatoes all over the rival fraternity chairman. "I'm a zit. Get it?" he proclaims. Classic! And so much of this movie was done spur of the moment, including Bluto smashing a beer can on his forehead, and Daniel Simpson 'd-day' Day playing his throat. If you haven't seen this movie, go out and rent it. You won't regret it.

Summary: Movie is Awesome, this dvd is the pits
Review: The copy I got must have been an ealy effort in putting film movies to dvd. The picture is horrible. Has all the specks an blemishes that are normally present in a film movie.

Get this dvd if you love the movie. Just don't expect the picture quality you are used to having with dvd.

Summary: This is definately a must see!!!!
Review: National Lampoon's Animal House has gotta be one of the funniest movies I've ever seen in my life! This crude parody of college life in the '60s spawned many imitations, but none could match the fresh-faced talent or bad taste of this huge box office success. Each time I see this movie, I feel like throwing a toga party! If anyone likes any of National Lampoon's movies, I definately recommend this, because in my oppinion this is their best! Buy it today!!!

Summary: Where are the songs???
Review: This film is one of the films I like most. I just love the Rock and Roll era, although I was born in the 70's. And "Animal House" has the smell of that era.

For the film I would give 5 stars, but for that DVD edition I give just one.

Why??? Well, most of the original soundtrack was substituted by unknown songs. Sam Cooke's Twisting the Night Away, Wonderful World and Money, Let's Dance and others just disappeared from the DVD edition...I'm totally disappointed because a 50's or 60's movie MUST have songs from the period. OK...Louie Louie is there, but only Louie Louie...

I think Universal had some troubles with the rights of that songs. OK...but why don't let us know it???

In spite of it, the DVD is still worth of buying, but for sure the new sound track is terrible surprise for this film lovers.

Summary: Comedy Masterpiece.
Review: This is the movie that made John Belushi a star and made this an instant favorite among many comedy fans including me, this is about a raunchy college fraternity named "Delta" who like to party down every night in the 60's and plans on getting even with their mean Dean named Dean Wormer ( John Vernon from Killer Klowns).

A brilliant and original comedy that is hilarious as heck, John Belushi is absoultely as funny as "Bluto" a lovable slob who does the classic mashpotato "Zit" impression and has a all star cast like Kevin Beacon, Tom Hulch from Disney's Hunchback, and Donald Sutherland as a hooked-on Drugs teacher. The acting and direction is great, not to mention this movie is also directed by John Landis ( Director of "An American Werewolf in London", " Kentucky Fried Movie" and " Blues Brothers), all in all this movie is a must see and those looking for a good laugh and time.

Summary: STOP READING THIS AND GO RENT "ANIMAL HOUSE"!!!!
Review: I did not think I would like animal house because I really am not a fan of cheap, crude humor, which is what I expected from this movie. However, after seeing Amadeus and thinking Tom Hulce was just the cutest and a really good actor, I decided to rent it. I am SOOOO glad I did! This is funniest movie EVER! If only school was really as much fun as it is portrayed in "Animal House"! You just fall in love with the whole gang; Bluto, Pinto, Otter, Flounder, Boone, D-day, Stork, and all the rest of the Delta's. This movie will put a smile on your face, and I know you will have as good a time watching it as the Delta's are having in it. Watch the Delta fraternity throw Toga parties, steal packaged meat, go on road trips, have food fights, spy on sororities, ruin the homecoming parade, try to get laid and act completely crazy!

Summary: Perhaps it was funny in 1978
Review: I saw this movie recently after repeatedly being told it is the funniest movie ever created. I have to say I found it to be utterly boring and unentertaining. Honestly, not one laugh out loud moment. Perhaps this is because I never felt the need to purchase friends by joining a fraternity, or because movies have become so much more outrageous since 1978 (e.g. American Pie goes places that movie makers could not even consider in 1978).

Either it is (1) overrated, (2) irrevelant, or (3) only funny to those who donned a toga and danced around like an idiot in a desperate attempt to attract friends. I don't know. In any case, I won't be watching it again. This movie just is not funny (at least not to me).

If you need something of the genre/time period, go for Ridgement, Porky's, Blues Brothers, etc. They are far superior to Animal House.

Summary: "When I graduate I'm going to get drunk every night!"
Review: If you've only seen this film on television, then you haven't really seen it. Television stations usually gut this film of some of the best gags, dialog, and of course, nudity. Without that stuff, it becomes pointless- like a Mad Magazine parody of National Lampoon.
This version with THX remastering is really sharp and crisp. The original theatrical trailer is shown without it, and the difference is like day and night.
I love this film for the same reason that that I love "Grease", namely, everyone seems to be having so much more fun getting their third-rate public education than I got getting my third rate public education....
