Summary: Predictable
Review: Like many of Ron Howard's movies, there are others who have done it better. The movies mentioned in the Amazon.com review are all superior to EdTv, so if you must buy one, buy one of them. The main problem with this movie is its boring predictability. There were certainly funny bits and I liked the actors (though Ellen was, really, just Ellen), but it never made me laugh. The Dolby Digital DVD version should not have included the deleated scenes, watching them made the final cut seem even more empty. They show him relishing and encouraging much of the fame, which would have made him seem less of a victim. When the movie was over, I forgot about it.

Summary: I couldn't take more than ten minutes of EdTV.
Review: Maybe my expectations were too much for a Ron Howard movie!??

There was nothing of interest to hold one's attention. After ten minutes, I stopped the DVD and returned it. In my opinion, it doesn't rate a star. Home movies shown on TV outrank EdTV.

You either dislike it or like it. I don't see a middle ground.

Summary: Reality TV
Review: I remember when this movie first came out and people thought it was absurd. Who would tune in to watch a guy just being himself. Now all of a sudden in today's society it doesn't seem that odd. It is a somewhat cute movie. At times it could be considered a chick flick. I wouldn't necessarily consider it a comedy but it is pretty funny at times. The cast really comes through and rescues this movie from itself. I would only give it a 3 but with the all-star cast I'll give it a 4.

Summary: SHOULD BE RATED R!!!
Review: This movie preceded the whole Survivor thing on TV, and its characters are a heck of a lot more likable. Mathew McConaughey plays a guy from Texas living and working in San Francisco as a video clerk (I did not understand how he ended up in SF guess I gotta watch the movie again) that gets chosen by a desperate TV station that has come up with a new concept as a last resort: they will have cameras follow a guy 24/7 EVERYWHERE except to the bathroom. The concept succeeds beyond their wildest dreams because the guy's family is a mess, and a funny one at that. The movie is really funny and original, I think. Jenna Elfman is great in it too, I like her. Other actors of note: Rob Reiner, EllenDeGeneris, Woody Harrelson, Dennis Hopper and Elizabeth Hurley. This version, which is the one I have, has zero special features, only an index of the chapters. Amazon sells another version that has more goodies. Overall I enjoyed the movie and will be seeing it again.

Summary: Great entertainment right to the hilarious ending!
Review: What a nice romantic movie with Matthew McConaughey and Jenna Elfman. I got everything I ever wanted in a chic flick right here. Ellen DeJeneres was superb. It was great to see Rob Reiner again, and as usual he didn't let me down. This kept me interested right to the very end and it was a very funny ending indeed. Would like to see more clean, funny entertainment like this!

Summary: Not a good one
Review: MCConaughey has a way of rescuing a movie, as youw atch him give his all to a character, to finding nuisances in one. Is this movie really good? Again another not sure. It tries to touch on reality show themes and the price of fame but in trying to be funny, it's softer on the topic than the topic deems necessary.
