Review: "The Brady Bunch" movie is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. Summary: Great Parody of the Brady Clan
Review: As a confirmed Brady Bunch fan (I have seen EVERY episode numerous times) I was so psyched when this movie came out. I own it and watch it about once a month, its one of those movies that you just don't get sick of. If you are a fan of the show you will probably like this the most because it parodies many classic Brady episodes. The Jan character is dead on and HILARIOUS, also kudos to Shelly Long for her portrayal of Carol. Rupaul makes a funny cameo. Its a great flick, don't miss it.

Summary: This movie is hilarious
Review: As a fan of the original show, I was worried about how they would poke fun at the show, but it is really well done. Basically, the Brady's have been picked up from the 70's and dropped in the middle of the 90's, which provides for many notable scenes that show how much the times have changed. For those fans of the original series, you'll see lots of references to the original show, from the way they walk down the stairs to the songs they sing. The Brady's are late on their property taxes. However, their neighbor, who wants to buy their house for the land to build a mini-mall, and has the tax notices. By the time they find out about it, their house is going to be auctioned. The Brady's have to come up with $20,000 to save their house. This movie is almost a combination of the Brady episodes "Amateur Nite" and "To Move or Not to Move". This is a hilarious movie. If you are a fan of the original series, you'll really enjoy this movie. If you've never seen the original show, you'll still love this movie. And make sure to look for cameos by some of the original cast members!

Summary: Funny, but only for fans of the show
Review: As a fan of the reruns from childhood, I liked this movie. It was better than the first. The Marcia and Jan actresses captured so much of the characters in looks and mannerisms that they were pleasant to watch. Cindy was almost painful to watch. She didn't look much like Susan Olsen in the face particularly. The other girls were such great Maureen/Eve look/act alikes that it soured me on the rest. But it was a good movie for fans who remember all or most of the shows. The sequel was better because it focused more on the original show and elements from Barry's book and didn't give so much time to the 90's characters.

Summary: Great movie for any Brady Bunch fan!
Review: Being a Brady Bunch fan I rented this movie and was at first surprised that it wasn't set in th 70's but instead it was the 90's and The Brady's were still stuck in the 70's but the more I watched I realized just how funny it was and the whole joke about the neighbors not seeing a toilet in the bathroom whenver they visted the Brady's was pretty funny and also an obvious statement of just how silly it was that the censors in the 70's deemed it offensive to show a bathroom with a toilet. I liked everyone in this move they were all great but I think I liked Christine Taylor the most and even though exaggerated she really got Marcia who could be conceited and snobby at times quite accurately, I also think Gary Cole was perfect as Mike with his long lectures and speeches and finger wagging and Shelley Long and Jennifer Elise Cox were both good as Carol and Jan and though it's a very funny movie I slightly prefer the sequel which was just a little bit sillier but I just loved that whole tripping with the Brady's scene! If you are a Brady fan than I highly recommend both movies!

Summary: Hilarious Parody of Everyone's Favorite Afternoon "Re-Run"
Review: Besides offering countless belly-laughs, this spoof of the legendary sit-com has many authentic elements of the original 70s TV show. The casting in itself was a stroke of genius. I'm still not sure if they actually "froze" Maureen McCormick (the REAL Marcia Brady), only to unthaw her in time to return to her role in this film; the actress playing Marcia in this film looks like a clone of the original! Shelley Long is also striking as Carol, as are Cindy, Bobby and Alice. -- Several original cast memebers from the TV series had cameos, most noteworthy Ann B. Davis (Alice), who returned as a truck driving confidante to a confused run-away Jan. -- Florence Henderson showed up as her own meddling mother who finally (much overdue) told Jan to "cut the crap!", giving her a swift smack on the cheek, thus curing her of her chronic and tiresome wining. -- We meet the Brady's neighbors the "Dittmeyers", who were frequently mentioned, but never actually shown on the TV program. Here they are no "Fred & Ethel", but scheming, manipulative oportunists, eager to convince the Bradys to sell their house (to them), in order for a big developer to turn the entire neighborhood into a huge building project. -- The film is also loaded with cheesy advice we remember Mike & Carol dishing out in over-dose rations during their 5 year run in prime time (not to mention the zillions of re-runs to follow). This will always be Sherwood Schwartz's biggest hit. The Brady Bunch will go down with Lucy, Andy and Samantha as America's best loved all-time favorite sit coms. The Brady Bunch Movie only intensified America's love affair with the light fluff that dreams are made of. This film is a winner in my book!*****

Review: Cleverly written movie that only Brady fans would love(I mean it!) If you never watch the original series, you missed all the inside jokes. "Go get them Tiger. Tiger, Tiger? What ever happen to the dog?" You wouldn't get that joke would you. Wonderful.

Review: Director Betty Thomas has to be congratulated for making this superb comedy sendup of the cheesiest sitcom that was ever made, The Brady Bunch. THE BRADY BUNCH MOVIE is pure fun! Shelley Long plays Carol Brady (played by Florence Henderson in the show). She has all the mannerisms down-pat and uses the same slidey, whiny voice. Gary Cole plays Mike with the same uncanny realism, even going into Mike's unrelenting moral stories and lesson-learning parables. Christine Taylor is great as Marcia (played by Maureen McCormack in the show). She is perfect as the snooty, preppy, Davy Jones fan club president. Jennifer Elise Cox is equally endearing as daggy Jan (played by Eve Plumb in the show). The storyline of Jan hearing inner voices and being diagnosed as having middle child syndrome is hilarious. Rounding out the tart supporting cast are Alanna Ubach as Marcia's lesbian friend Noreen, who is constantly making passes at her and dropping hints, with Marcia oblivious to it all. RuPaul plays guidance counsellor Ms Cummings, who helps Jan. At the end of the session, after telling Jam to create a seperate look from her siblings, she says "Hey, Jan! Come back when you're pregnant, and girl you better work!". The laughs come from the ingenious fact that the Brady's live in the 90's but they still think they are in the 70's. They still dress, talk and act the same, as though they are in a time warp. Anyway, rent or buy the movie and see what you think. I guarantee you'll agree!
