Summary: Funny 80's movie
Review: This is a movie everyone has to see. C. Thomas Howell is a great actor. Talk about funny. I laugh harder each and every time I watch this movie. This movie not only is funny but it really points how some people view other cultures, cultures that they just don't understand. It combines humor with sad but true sterotypes that people of the world still believe to this day.

Summary: A Generation X "Black Like Me"
Review: This is a truly serious exercise in social commentary, but in more ways than just as it adheres to race relations. Indeed, Arye Gross' character represents the need of all white rich kids to destroy property, smoke pot and purchase ocelots. James Earl Jones proves that all African-American college professors are humorless jackasses and East Coast liberal establishment Boston is a pit of racism rivaling Selma, Alabama. Meanwhile Rae Dawn Chong proves that she inherited her father's considerable ability to plumb the depths of human emotion. Consider it a cautionary tale for any student who is tempted to take experimental tanning pills, do bad imitations of Eddie Murphy imitating Stevie Wonder, wear wigs more suited to Gregory Harrison or Phillip Michael Thomas and act more white than they did before ingesting the formula. All in all, the fact that this film was made in the mid-Eighties is a testament to the impact the Reagan Administration had on understanding between the races.

Summary: Definetely 5 stars! C.Thomas Howell is the greatest actor!
Review: This is definetely 1 of C.Thomas Howell's greatest films ever! Not that all of his movies arent completely awesome! He has been my favorite actor since I saw him in E.T. I've been collecting all his pictures, articles, and movies since then. Well this story talks about a young man lol* named Mark Watson (C.Thomas Howell) and he is from Los Angeles CA. He and his friend Gordo both get scholarships to Harvard Law School. Besides the fact that they are very excited,Mark needs to do 1 thing. He needs the money. His father tells him that he is giving him his manhood. Then he breaks the bad news and tells Mark that he needs to find the money himself. When Mark and Gordo look through a pamphlet about Harvard, Mark finds that there might just be a way to get the money. So then Mark gets some tanning lotion from his friend, and pretends to be black. He thinks that it will help him,and it does. When Mark and Gordo arrive at Harvard Mark meets another black student who he then falls in love with (Rae Dawn Chong) Mark goes through many things while pretending to be black. He hears racist slurs everyday every minute. A really funny part is where the professor (James Earl Jones) is taking attendance and he calls Mark's name and Mark replies with "Right On" instead of "here" And when Mark is hiding his identity from his parents and he takes off the mask and says "Mom,Dad, I'm Black! The movie is really great, and the best of the 1980's. So go out and rent it

Summary: Very funny, but where is the DVD
Review: This is the best movie by C. Thomas Howell. Absolutely hilarious. James Earl Jones is also great in the role of the Professor. With all the titles that available on DVD, I am very surprised this is not released on DVD yet as it is available in Taiwan. Get this in any format that you can get. Highly recommended comedy. One the best of the 1980's.

Summary: Serious Movie
Review: This movie should be taken very seriously as it is a social commentary about the human condition and race relation. I would recommend viewing this in a dark room after a funeral, as this movie should be taken as seriously as a death in the family.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Hilarious comedy!!
Review: This was an absolutely histerical movie. Howell is really funny pretending to be black. I almost lost it when James Earl Jones was taking attendance and Howell responded to his name being called by saying "Right On."

This is also a great social commentary. It illustrates how black people get handouts left and right by universities. Hopefully our country's law-makers will see this movie and end affirmative action.
