Rating: Summary: Malibu's Most Wanted review Review: Malibu is one of those movies that you can sit back and laugh out loud throughout the whole movie. Jamie Kennedy was great as Brad well he says that is his slave name so he prefers being called B-rad. B-rad lives in Malibu with his father Bill (Ryan O'Neal) who is running for governor. B-rad is a wannabe gangster rapper. The problem is that he can't RAP. I mean a preschooler could out rap him. Anyway, noone ever accepts B-rad for who he is. Bill and his staff try to keep his son as far away from his campaign b/c he's afraid b-rad might hurt his chances of winning. After unsuccessful attempts at trying to give b-rad a minor role in the campaign, bill comes up with an idea. That is to hire some black guys named T.J. (Taye Diggs) and Sean (Anthony Anderson) to kipnap b-rad and give him a glipse of what life in the hood is all about and hopefully b-rad will become white again. Even though neither one knew much about the streets they rely on Shondra (Regina Hall) as bait to help lure b-rad in by acting like she was record executive and could help him get a record deal. Of course, things didn't necessiarly go as planned. B-rad was slowly starting to catch on to their plan, but that wasn't all. They enter b-rad into a rapping contest and it was not a pleasant experience for b-rad. On top of that Tec (Shondra ex-boyfriend) started to take offense to him being around her and b-rad was involved in a incrediably bizzare gunfight. Bill realizes that maybe his plan was not a smart one to make. Of course, Shondra who starts to take a liking to him decide to help him before he could end up being killed. The next couple of scenes were absolutely insane as their was somewhat of a battle b/w Tec's crew and B-rad's crew but b-rad decides to come back home. His dad allows him to rap for his campaign, he and shondra start a relationship and shondra got to live her dream in opening up her own salon. This movie definatly ranks in the top 5 in comedy movies of 2003. It's got the same racial stereotypes but it's done in a clean PG-13 fashion. Everyone had fairly good roles and pacing of the movie were pretty good. It's worth checking out.
Rating: Summary: Exactly what I hoped for Review: Malibu's Most Wanted is one of those movies that will be god awful if you think for one second this is going to be anything other than a totally ridiculous comedy that makes a bunch of stupid jokes that are funny anyway. Jamie Kennedy plays a misguided white boy who thinks he is a black rap star. His father happens to be running for governor of California (pre-Arnold) and tries to get the boy to change so that he does not ruin the campaign image. A few actors are hired to try and scare the ghetto out of him by bringing him to a fake scenario. Eventually things degrade and the comedy escalates and in the end, I was very pleased I chose to watch this movie.
There isn't much to say about Malibu's Most Wanted other than it is a great movie to watch when you are in a goofy mood.
Rating: Summary: Malibu's Most Wanted- Simply A Good Time Review: Malibu's Most Wanted was for the most part silly and rather dumb but it was hilarious and for that I give it 4 stars, the one star deducted is for the amount reasonable silliness in this film. Jamie Kennedy plays B-Rad, a white kid who thinks he's a rapper and is not whtie. He thinks he's slick, cool and gifted, yet he's horrific when it comes to rapping with his bad rhyming and pathetic lyrics. His father, a candidate running for governor of California doesn't want his son to ruin his campaign and so he requests his campaign manager (Blair Underwood) to hire two actors (hilarious Taye Diggs and Anthony Anderson) to scare the black out of his son and simply make him white. Taye Diggs and Anthony Anderson try to be two ganster-like characters from the hood who are trying to make B-Rad realize that he can obviously never be black or be a rapper. Regina King plays Anderson's counsin Shondra and soons becomes the love interest of B-Rad, which could set a bit of distraction. The premise of this movie does sound rather unintelligent and is the least bit clever but it's an amiable farce loaded with laughs. Director John Whitesell can coax out laughs here. The main charaters behind the immense laughter here are Diggs and Anderson, who pulled off there characters well and did look a bit convincing in their roles. Kennedy alongside has his laughs as well. Malibu's Most Wanted is rated PG-13 for Sexual Humor, Language and Violence. The language is rather excessive with the frequent use of a certain b-word. There is a sufficient amount of sexual innuendo, not explicit though. The violence is infrequent and understated, mainly some bloodless gunplay and brief fistfights. Worth owning, or atleast renting. DVD includes deleted scenes, trailer and commentaries.
Rating: Summary: funny Review: Malibu's Most Wanted 10 Of 10 This Is Definetly The Funniest Movie Of 2003. I Saw An Advanced Screening Two Days Before It Was Actually Supposed To Come Out And Absolutely Love This Movie. Jamie Kennedy Plays B - Rad Gluckman A Wannabe Rapper With Only One Problem He's White. Sounds Allot Like 8 Mile Huh. Well That's Probably Because This Is A Spoof Of That Movie. B - Rad's Father's Co Worker Hires Two Actors ( Anthony Anderson And Taye Diggs ) To Kidnap Him And Scare The Black Out Of Him By Living In Compton And Seeing What Ghetto Life Is Really Like. In This Time He Meets A Perfect 10 Hottie Who Eventually Becomes His Girlfriend And People Learn It's Who He Really Is. This Movie Is Chock Full Of Memorable Lines Like This Is My Shizle Fo Rizzle And Don't Be Hatin. It Also Has A Voice Cameo By My Fave Rapper Snoop Dogg As A Rat. It Reminded Of A Mix Between Undercover Brother And The New Guy. Two Other Great Comedies. So See This And Don't Be Hatin Now.The Critics Tottally Be Hatin. Don't Be Like Them.
Rating: Summary: Hilarious ! Review: Man this movie was so frikin funny! Man I'm glad I got there early cuz this movie got soled out!MTV's Jamie Kennedy plays Brad Gluckman, son of a wealthy man (Ryan O'Neal) who is running for governor. Brad and his friends are posers (sometimes known as wiggers) who adopt the clothing, slang, and outlook of black rappers from the poorest and most violent communities. He insists on being called B-Rad, and has made a demo album called "Mali-booty." This is an embarrassment to the campaign, so the candidate's political advisor (Blair Underwood) hires two clasically trained actors to pretend to be real gangstas and "scare the black out of" Brad and turn him back into acting like Richie Cunningham (from television's "Happy Days"). The actors (Taye Diggs and Anthony Anderson), despite the fact that rap style is even more foreign to them than it is to residents of Malibu.
Rating: Summary: kennedy's white rapper gets numb after a while Review: my friend Joel dragged me along to this movie and I sat in the theater for god nows how long and watching this movie that started great and like most movies out there ends horribly and throughout is lame and obnoxious, though Taye Diggs and Anthony Anderson have some laughs along the way as the hired gangsters
Rating: Summary: Surprisingly funny comedy! Review: OK, so I saw the trailer for this, and I saw the front of the box, and I thought: "Stupid comedy." I decided to watch it and give it a chance, because hey I'm a fair man. I saw a dumb movie right? Actually...I was totally surprised. This movie is actually pretty clever. OK, it's not a GREAT movie, but considering what I was expecting it's certainly a worthy rental. The film really isn't the same joke over and over again, in fact it's really about the whacky adventures of our hero "B-Rad" in the actual ghettos of Los Angelas. I thought the film was going to get formulaic and dumb when the romance (and a REAL kidnapping) comes into play, but the movie doesn't forget it's just a silly comedy and the fun continues. The performances by Taye Diggs and Anthony Anderson (two talented but underrated actors) are right on par. Like I said, this isn't a great movie, but if you wanna laugh, give this a shot. Trust me, it's NOT as bad as it looks.
Rating: Summary: Malibu's Most Wanted Review: Okay, I didn't see the very beginning of this movie, but from what I seen, it's worth the 4 stars, I didn't really find B-Rad (Kennedy) all that funny, but the people around him were, like the guy playing the arab thug who had a R.P.G. launcher that his uncle sent him for his b-day, that was funny as hell, also, Tec was real funny at the end in his house ("Damn, doesn't anybody know how to use a drive-way?" and "This fool hit my house"), it's just dry humor that is actually funny, I would own it... It has alot of sterotypes but they're done in clean fashion, it's worth a check, but only if you like cheesy comedy...
Rating: Summary: Extremely racist Review: Talk about taking a stereotype to the extreme! And someone please tell Anthony Anderson he cannot act is even less funny. Go away please.
