Summary: Great
Review: This movie is enjoyable, touching and yet funny. The storyline is original and rather unpredintable. It is definitely better than The Truman Show. Matthew is endearing as a goofy guy. Watch it! It's worth it.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Not bad, not as good as Truman Show, though
Review: This movie isn't awful, nor is it great. I enjoyed the "Truman Show" much more, it was written much better and was "the" original, whereas "EDTV" and the highly overrated "Bowfinger" try to cash in with similar plots. I can't see how "Bowfinger" got a good rating. I thought it was an awful, annoying and highly disappointing film. EDTV is worth a watch and the 3-5 bucks it costs to buy at Blockbuster previously viewed. It IS funny, but we've all seen everything in this film before in a much more polished form with the magnificent "Truman Show". Same concept, maybe taken TOO far, also disappointing that Ed (Matthew McConnaughy)KNOWS about being filmed, whereas Truman Burbank (Jim Carrey) figured it out by himself by flaws in the actor's (of the TV show, not the movie) characters. "Truman Show" is much smarter and has more beef to it.

Summary: SHOULD BE RATED R!!!
Review: This movie preceded the whole Survivor thing on TV, and its characters are a heck of a lot more likable. Mathew McConaughey plays a guy from Texas living and working in San Francisco as a video clerk (I did not understand how he ended up in SF guess I gotta watch the movie again) that gets chosen by a desperate TV station that has come up with a new concept as a last resort: they will have cameras follow a guy 24/7 EVERYWHERE except to the bathroom. The concept succeeds beyond their wildest dreams because the guy's family is a mess, and a funny one at that. The movie is really funny and original, I think. Jenna Elfman is great in it too, I like her. Other actors of note: Rob Reiner, EllenDeGeneris, Woody Harrelson, Dennis Hopper and Elizabeth Hurley. This version, which is the one I have, has zero special features, only an index of the chapters. Amazon sells another version that has more goodies. Overall I enjoyed the movie and will be seeing it again.

Summary: Good Fun
Review: This movie was recommended by a friend. In turn, we now recommend it to other friends. It was quite enjoyable. It's often compared to The Truman Show, for no good reason. Ed is fully aware that he is on television - Truman isn't. Ed is supposed to be a lighthearted romantic comedy - The Truman Show is anything but. There are more differences than similarities between them, but both are excellent movies for completely different reasons. EdTV's plot is interesting enough, the cast is likeable (with the exception of Liz Hurley), and it's amusing. Ok, it's not the Greatest Movie Ever Made, but it's good viewing, and goes well with pizza and friends. It's also got a high re-watchable value - very important if you're considering buying it for home.

Summary: A good Ron Howard comedy
Review: This was a nice cool comedy from Ron Howard and he did a good job directing this. It Has Woody Harrelson and Rob Reiner in it. They did a good job in it.

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: LameTV
Review: This was pure hollywood drivel. Woody Harrelson completely overacts (as he always does) and the movie just does not seem close to real. Ellen D. is ok but the story is so contrived that I had to bail out. Truman, which is a fair comparison, was a much better movie.

Summary: Bought this because my husband was an extra in the movie
Review: Unfortunately his scene got cut (along with all the others that they were casting for when he went). This DVD is so great because it not only has the movie and some info about the movie, but it also has deleted scenes. How fun! Also, the feature commentary by Ron Howard is entertaining.

Summary: YES TO ME OR YES TO THE COIL, MOM?!
Review: WASSUP, AMERICA?!

This is a great movie. I don't own the DvD, but I have it taped and I plan to order this (or buy it in a store) this year. Matthew McConughey is so talented. Woody is OK....KINGPIN! I like Elizabeth Hurley from Austin Powers and Bedazzled (GREAT MOVIE TOO). And Jenna Elfman is one of the most talented actresses I've ever seen in a movie. She was great in Keeping the Faith (another favorite). I've mentioned so many movie in this review! lol MOVIES ARE MY LIFE!

PEACE OUT!
