Summary: Great movie and wonderful DVD
Review: Altman is terrific talking about his movies, and this is one of my favorites. It is by no means a deep film, and it has a breezy, irreverant feel despite being a movie about treachery and murder. There are some deleted scenes on the disc that are interesting, too.

Summary: Literate and Surprising
Review: This is a great film exces in Holywood. A good mistery with biting humor and insight into the power/control world of movie-making. Tim Robbins is excellent in the lead role and Robert Altman's directing is superior. The story is great, especially if you've been an actor, director, producer or anyone in dealing. with stage or film making. This is a must have for Altman fans and for movie collectors.

Summary: Julia Roberts, Bruce Willis and many more are in this movie
Review: This movie is a love letter to Hollywood. It examines the inner organs of a big business and the corruptions that corrupt the corrupted. Hollywood is not all glitz and glamour. This movie is like a safe window we can all stand behind and peer through, because I don't think I would want to be a part of the bloodbath of the Hollywood sharks feeding time. This film is compelling from beginning to end, with tons of wonderful cameos by celebs, celebs, celebs. This movie's approach is so unique in that it uses these stars to play themselves, which I found fascinating. The ending is so riveting and shocking it literally makes your mouth drop and at the same time helps you "see the light" so to speak, in that lovely town we call Hollywood. Such a cruel, cruel town. I never knew stars and the other Hollywood players could be so evil. But then why do I love 'em so much?!?

Summary: Don't miss this one!
Review: I love this movie. The plot is spellbinding and unpredictable. The cast of actors who play themselves and fictional characters are excellent. The famous first shot that lasts 6 minutes or so is captivating. Tim Robbins is hot. Buy it now.

Review: This one has everything but the kitchen sink. At once a celebration and satire of filmmaking and Hollywood, this one of those movies you can watch with your friends over and over and see new stuff all the time. Made with a wink to the audience this movie is even better than them. Great stuff!

Summary: Tim Robbins is a god !!!!!
Review: You will have to watch this movie more than once to get all of the subtleties but you will enjoy it every time. Tim Robbins is great, as always, in this part.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: That's Hollywood
Review: If you like Robert Altman's film style, you'll love this film. I happen to think Altman is a genius, so this was a joy to watch. It moves, keeps you guessing , involves the viewer all the way from beginning to end. Speaking of the beginning, watch the opening shot that has to last five minutes without a cut! Pay close attention because Altman often has two or three conversations going on at one time and you nedd to listen to just of them! The murder is solved - sort of! You never quite understand it all until the end and even then, you're not completely sure of what you've just seen!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Classic Movie
Review: I haven't seen any other Robert Altman films and I've heard that they are generally an aquired taste. The Player, however, I think would appeal to almost anyone. There's great stuff for film buffs and literary critics, for people interested in Hollywood , but there's also some good genuine suspense.
