Rating: 3 stars
Summary: A surprisingly entertaining movie
Review: This is the best thing MTV movies has produced to date. The acting was EXCELLLENT! The story was flimsy but did a great job of examining different peoples motives and weaknesses. I especially liked the whole commentary on the questionable maturity and motives of public school employees. I wish there was 3-1/2 star rating on this site, because that is really what it deserves. I highly recommend seeing this movie.

Summary: Undisciplined storytelling
Review: This movie was most interesting when it focused on the battle between the girl Tracy, her opponent and the principal. But there were way too many bizarre tangents and peripheral characters that turned the movie into a freakshow.

Summary: REESE SHOULD BE NOMINATED FOR AN OSCAR
Review: Great movie. Funny and entertaining and a little surprising. I truly believe Reese Witherspoon should get an Oscar nomination. I am serious.

Summary: well played out characters, clever well-written script
Review: This movie was one of the best I've seen in a while, I thoroughly enjoyed the acting and wrting throughout the movie. It paints an atmosphere that is highly accurate towards life in highschool and the reality of high school student's council elections. This movie deals with many issues, all in a very clever manner - with an appropriate soundtrack to back up the themes. Small touches like this make Election a highly entertaining flick. Keeps you relaxed, but thinking, and laughing. * * * *

Summary: Good plot - good acting - bad smuttyness
Review: I'll agree with most of the opinions here, but I'll also add this: Election is needlessly smutty.

I don't quite understand why the producers and directors of this film needed to take what was a great story, with great actors, and throw in thoughtless & needless porn, cussing, and blatant portrayals of high schoolers engaged in sex acts.

No, I'm no bible-thumper. But the inclusion of this material wasn't necessary. Indeed, it made the movie less interesting - there are so many more creative ways to cause the same emotional response in the audience.

It's too bad that this movie, with all it has going for it, is also an excellent example of "defining deviancy down."

Summary: Even free can't cut it
Review: I could kick myself for shelling out the one day rental fee for this. Even if it were free, I'd pass on this one. Reese Witherspoon should have 1) hightailed it out of town when she had the chance and 2) should have thought about throwing herself in the dumpster with her characters posters. The trailer itself rates 4 stars-watch that and enjoy this movie.

Summary: Election is a must see movie
Review: This movie was hilarious and dramatic. Matthew Broderick did a great job as the teacher with problems of his own and the election. Furthermore, Reese Witherspoon makes you want to choke her. I loved this movie

Summary: Very funny!
Review: This was a very good movie. I especially liked the parts where Reese went ballistic when she sees something happening to her campaign!

Summary: Awesome.
Review: This movie requires multiple viewings to get most of the jokes. After I first saw it, I knew I liked it and knew that I needed to see it again. It proved much better the 2nd viewing because I listened and watched with more attention. I was laughing at the jokes while other people just sat there. I loved how it reminded me of my highschool...a windowless prison. The DVD is good. The commentary by Alexander Payne is well done.

Summary: Rates w/ Heathers and Welcome to the Dollhouse
Review: It seems like someone besides the class clown or a FBLA geek has made a movie about high school. Is it possible that this film is the first since "Goodbye Mr. Chips" to portray a teacher as someone that isn't a caricature or an icon of some sort? It suprises and delights with every scene.
