Summary: Lost In America
Review: Someone said I should get this movie - This movie is easily in the running for the worst movie I've ever seen award - I really dislike stupid people and people who continually make bad decisions - there seemed to be an awful lot of this going on in this movie - the two major characters just didn't seem like they should be together (or with anyone for that matter)

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Brilliant, funny movie about mid-life angst
Review: The best film by Albert Brooks besides "Defending Your Life". One of the better comedies of the past 15 years. If you like Woody Allen, you'll probably like this movie.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: "I've recently dropped out of society, and..."
Review: This is a wonderful piece of film making. The first half of the film is somewhat predictable, but there are so many hilarious scenes it doesn't really matter.

WARNING: SPOILERS

For me, the two highlights were the scene where Albert Brooks' character tries desperately to convince the casino manager (played brilliantly by Gary Marshall) to give back the money they've lost there. Marshall's facial expressions are priceless. Also, the scene in the employment office after the smart-alec job counselor learns that Brooks' character made $100K/year in his last job ("How much does the crossing guard job pay?"..."A HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS!!").

The DVD doesn't have much in the way of extras, but the film is a wonderful way to spend 90 minutes.

Summary: I've Seen it 30 Times or More
Review: This is definitely one of my favorite comedy movies! I watch it every once in a while and enjoy it as much as I did the first time - maybe even more. The scenes are fabulous - smart and funny and well-written. I have quoted the "nest egg" speech many times; also the employment office's "hundred thousand dollar box". It's fantastic!

Summary: Own it! You'll want to see it more than once. . . .
Review: This is simply my favorite comedy film of all time. It's a classic, hilarious look at the painful odyssey from anger to forgiveness. I've seen it at least 10 times and it still makes me laugh!

Summary: NEST EGGS AND CROSSING GUARDS
Review: This is the sort of movie you can watch more than once and always find something you missed before. I normally do not like movies with too much dialogue, but this one has great visual AND great dialogue. Saw it years ago when it first came out at the movies and thought it was only so-so. (Note the office scenes - from the days when people still had offices instead of cubicles! wow!) Seeing it now after having experienced the burn-out from the rat-race and feeling what the Howards felt, I could relate and found it hilarious! Good movie. Buy it.

Summary: Hilarious!
Review: This movie is Excellent! I am from the small Arizona town of Safford, where part of the movie is set, which isn't really something to be proud of--you'll understand once you see the movie--but the town's grown a lot since 1985--we have a Wal-Mart now! Anyway, this movie is great, Albert Brooks and Julie Hagerty couldn't be funnier!
