Rating: Summary: Ha ha ha ha ha. Ah ha. Ha. (That's me still laughing). Review: Classic. "Brain Candy" is the definitive example of how "The Kids in the Hall" are the greatest thing since sliced bread. (And if that made any kind of sense, I'd have quite the analogy, huh?) While this movie is easier to follow and subsequently appreciate for those who are familiar with the series, the humor is genuine, and not limited to fans of the show. Everyone (who isn't easily offended) will love it! And for those "Kids in the Hall" regulars who expect to see some familiar faces, the movie features cameos from the police officers, the disgruntled cab driver, the white trash couple and Cancer Boy, amongst others. (And just to warn any unsuspecting viewers, after watching "Brain Candy" you may unintentionally start quoting from the movie during normal conversations. The condition is unavoidable, irreversible and permanent.)
Rating: Summary: KITH fan all the way!!! Review: My brother and I both think that this is the funniest movie ever made! If you love the kids in the hall, this is for you! If you haven't seen them yet, you probably won't fully apprieciate it's off-color humor, or the kids themselves. Don't watch it if you offend easily, or are disturbed by cross-dressing. The music is awesome, too. All in all, a great comedy about anti-depressants! :)
Rating: Summary: "each KITH movie is a gift" Review: hysterical! true, it's not the greatest movie ever made but it's loopy and bizarre and flat out funny and that's better than 10 "armageddons" or "godzillas" or weepy, self-important "pvt. ryan." special mention should be made to cisco, the marketing guy. whoever wrote, conceived and performed him (i think it's bruce mckenzie on all three) should be awarded a medal of honor. perfect! dead-on! it perfectly nails every single marketing person i've ever met right down to the $62,000 car. sure, some would say that it's easy to make fun of marketing people--like shooting fish in a barrel. well, some fish need to be caught and others need to be shot and i hope the people (like me) who work with and hate marketing folk get a kick out of cisco. mean, mean, mean! i loved it. also, mark mckinney's impersonation of loren michaels here in "brain candy" is much better than mike myers' impersonation of loren michaels (see dr. evil in "austin powers"). one note: it's evident that dave foley wasn't "into" this movie. he's onscreen for abt 10 seconds while the other "kids" do a lion's share of the work. i say ditch dave and keep rolling. anyway, i hope the KITH keep 'em coming (even if they have to use animal pornography) but probably not. oh well, this will have to suffice.
Rating: Summary: An incredibly astounding soundtrack Review: If you saw the KITH movie, and haven't yet bought the soundtrack, go and do so right now. Even if you didn't like the movie, the music is definatly worth it. With songs from great bands like They Might be Giants, The Tragically Hip, and Guided by Voices, this album is one of the best musical soundtracks you will ever find.
Rating: Summary: Hurray for Kids in the Hall! Review: Okay I really really loved this movie. I must pass on a piece of advice. If you're thinking about watching it, don't watch it until after you've seen the Kids in the Hall TV show. I watched it pre-KITH, and I didn't understand a lot of it. I thought it was moderately funny. I have been watching KITH daily for the past two months now, and I rented it again about a month ago, and it was a lot better this time, and I recognized some of the characters (the cops, Melanie, Raj and Lacey, etc). I would definitely recommend it though!!! The only non-funny thing was Cancer Boy. I didn't find it particularly offensive, just unfunny. Otherwise, I love this movie!!! END
Rating: Summary: Great movie. Review: To quote a New York Times reviewer:"I was privy to an early test screening of this, and it was weirder and better than the final product. Even the final, watered-down version beats the hell out of most safe so-called comedies, though." I had a friend that also got to see the "original ending" which he claims was among the funniest things he had ever seen in his life. I personally thought the movie was great, and have enjoyed it a couple of times on DVD. I really think though that the DVD could have benefited from having the alternate ending and aditional footage added back in. As I understand it though, Paramount executives don't care about anything but patting each other on the back while their studio slips into oblivion. They released the DVD of Clue with a mono soundtrack. Look at how Paramount destroyed their most profitable cash cow "Star Trek." So the chances of us getting to see that alternate ending of Brain Candy is darn near slim to none. It really is unfortunate... it sounds fantastic.
Rating: Summary: Brain Candy--brilliant and ahead of its time Review: Brain Candy is pure genius. Story, acting, sets, camera work, lighting--everything was the highest quality. Perhaps this movie is so insightful about pharmaceutical companies that people were scared to do any thinking and enjoy the entertainment when this movie came out in theaters. It deserves far more recognition, but Kids in the Hall did not get to be so brilliant by being "mainstream." Buy this movie and the DVDs for seasons 1 & 2 of Kids in the Hall. You will be glad you did.

Rating: Summary: A must see for everyone in the pharma industry... Review: I think this comedy is a hilariuosly accurate picture of the pharmaceutical industry. Brings humor to pharm development while presenting the pressures and struggles of its success.
Rating: Summary: Luke Warm?......... Review: .....No, Luke Skywalker ya f***in' inbred!! This is the greatest motion picture of all times. This film was, indeed, a natural, evolution from the conventions of their television show which is the greatest television show of all times. They started with a great plot, from which several sub-plots sprouted. From there, they were able to do what they do best; create a bizarre array of distinctly hilarious characters and situations. If you don't think that this is the greatest motion picture of all times, your brain is obviously smaller than the Chicken Lady's brain.
