Review: The Truman Show is a very original movie; How many other movies have you seen that have a person living their entire life in a soundstage? Well, that's what this one's all about. Truman Burbank, your average person, lives an average life in the beautiful town of Seahaven. Little does he know that he is actually the main character of a documentary, "The Truman Show." At the beginning of the movie, Truman is walking down the sidewalk when all of a sudden, a light just falls down out of the sky. Truman picks it up. It has a piece of masking tape on it labeled-"Ursa Minor." (I think) And that's where he starts to realize that his life isn't so average after all... I recommend this movie to anyone who does and doesn't like Jim Carrey because whether you do or not, his performance in this movie is outstanding; the same with Ed Harris.(Kristoff) Definitely a must-have.

Summary: A MOVIE WORTH SEEING FOR THE CONCEPT ALONE
Review: Jim Carey makes a definite leap out of his usual genre. The concept of this movie is staggering. Although some spots dragged and the ending left much to be desired, the concept in addition to Carey's amazing performance makes it a hit! Even better the second time around. You notice more of everyone's quirks the second time!

Review: While this is cerianly an interesting movie, and one could argue that this is Jim Carrey's best role to date, on the whole the movie is just an average movie. What is disturbing though, is Paramount's blatent false advertixing of the producr. I bought this movie believing it to be in the wide screen format. The packaging clearly states that this movie is supposed to be wide screen,. let me assure you though that what you get is the pan and scan version. This is a new format, but this sort of foul up is not acceptable.

Summary: ABSOLUTEYLY AN ASTOUNDING ACHIEVEMENT
Review: This is a must see movie that shows that reality is not always what it seems to be. Coming off of mild reviews because Jim Carrey actually gets to act (brillianty) this movie is too deep for some. I recommend this movie to anyone who ever questions what kind of world we actually live in or to anyone who thinks for that matter.

Summary: Was it that fly?
Review: I just rented the DVD last night and now I'm seeing all these 5 star ratings- was it that great for all these people? It felt abreviated, like, "and your point is...?" It was fun sometimes watching Carey, but left me thinking it's building to something huge. It didn't. Cool menu design, but Paramount's idea of special features is still theatrical trailers.

Review: The Truman Show is a wonderful show. I believe this to be one of Jim Carrey's better films. I don't care for most of Carrey's movies, but I saw this movie 3 times in theaters and was still impressed each time. This movie has a great plot along with the way it is performed. I believe it to be well worth anyone's time to watch.

Review: The Truman Show was a masterpiece showing Jim Carrey's funny and serious side, yet keeping the movie in a serious manner the whole way through. I believe he and Ed Harris should get awarded for their excellent performance.

Summary: Great premise...never quite goes all the way.
Review: The whole idea for this movie is great and it is very well done...to a point. But once Truman finally figures out what is going on, just when you think the creative genius of Jim Carey will explode, nothing happens. The second half of the movie is slow and basically uninspiring. It's a real shame because it could have been quite a masterpiece.
