Rating: Summary: SPICE and SPY Review: It was good to see Roger Mooer James Bond 007 in a film again. This time he plays a character who looks very much like Blofeld. Instead of a cat he now keeps a pig in his lap. Very cool idea! As with David Lean's "Doctor Zhivago" it is about a few years in the turbulent life of the all-female Anglo-Soviet assembly. The Spy and Spice Girls have plenty of character, and that helps make up for the lack of action and adventure that keeps their movie debut from being a truly epic motion picture. The concert scene at Albert Hall in London was very reminiscent of Hitchcock's "The Man Who Knew Too Much." It was kind of a 90's version on some of his themes as well as David Lean's and the Bond producers. However, it has a potential of being cult epic like "Austin Powers."
Rating: Summary: Great During Their Prime, But Now They're Kinda Old . . . Review: What was it that Entertainment Weekly called them? "Disposable Entertainment at it's Finest." I couldn't have said it better. Yes, three or four, or maybe even two years ago, the Spice Girls were still "good." But, seeing as they haven't put out a chart topping album since '98, well . . . what can I say? Believe me, this is NOT a rip on the Girls, (three years ago, I was the biggest Spice fan that you could find for miles) just that they haven't done anything in the last couple years except for sit on their butts and have babies. Really, the "spice" left the group right along with Ginger. I love most of the songs on this CD (except for 'Move Over' and 'Do It'). They're inspirational and have a nice beat. The only problem that I have is that they tend to follow a repetitive pattern, which is almost like their trademark. They should have switched producers for a couple of their songs to give em a new twist. Overall, this CD is OK. Not great, not bad, just, good to have in your collection.

Rating: Summary: fab 5 vs fab 4 Review: I admit that this movie was good but it is no "Hard Days Night". Spice Girls tried to copy many things that were in HDN, for example, lateness for a concert. They made it seem as if they were trying to do the same thing that the Beatles did over thirty years earlier.
Rating: Summary: THROW PIES AT THE SPICE GIRLS! Review: I hate the Spice Girls. Nasty Spice, Rancid Spice, Rotten Spice, Stinky Spice and Stupid Spice have no talent. They can't act, deliver lines well, dance or sing. They're just a T&A (Tattoos & Attitude) version of Menudo, New Edition and New Kids on the Block. They are just a stupid little fad. These women couldn't sing their way out of a Chevrolet. They are truly abominable. Pelt them with pies. For REAL girl power, listen to genuine talents like Mariah Carey, Melissa Etheridge, Joni Mitchell and Madonna. They're REAL talent and they're good!
Rating: Summary: Still the Best Pop group you'll find. Review: In a form of music such as Pop, where most bands are manufactured and work as puppets to the managers and what the record lebel wants them to do, Spice Girls give a strong form of originality that is what makes them stand out among the rest. They write their own music and do their own thing and that works. The second album Spiceworld really shows off their talent. The songs have a great diversity to them and that give them and very diverse fan base and they never make the same song twice like other bands of their nature. This album has a great mix of songs from the great opening track Spice up you Life , to the 40's sound of Too Much and the Lady is a Vamp, to the incredible Ballad, Viva Forever. This is a great album, and I'm sure the next one, Forever, will be just as good. I've already heard the first single, Holler, holler and It's great. All fans of the first album will love Spiceworld. This is one group that holds up through the years.
Rating: Summary: PATHETIC FARCE! Review: It is stupid at best, insulting at worst to compare this embarrassing effort with the 1964 Beatles' classic, "A Hard Day's Night." Whereas the Beatles' first movie was funny, plausible and had appealing characters and good script and acting, not to mention excellent music, this movie has none of the above. The Spice Girls are just a put together ensemble that couldn't carry a tune in a shopping cart. They seem so laughably out of their element on the big screen and on the TV screen as well. They stink. The only redeeming features this atrocious movie has is the cameo appearances by real talents like Elton John and Meatloaf. It interesting that these genuinely talented people would agree to appear in this stupid little farce. The Spice Girls aren't even a real group. They are the girl version of "New Kids on the Block," "Menudo," and "New Edition." What's next -- an Asian or Native American put together manufactured ensemble to comlete the image of being politically correct? At least chose some REAL talents -- these girls are pathetic and can't even deliver a line. Geri Halliwell's quasi-60s themed speech was stupid, buffoonish and pitiful. I admit that I hate the Spice Girls. People in my neck of the woods who also hate them call them Nasty Spice, Rancid Spice, Rotten Spice, Stinky Spice and Stupid Spice. Good and apt. This movie is a waste of good money. Even if I weren't female, I'd STILL hate it. The only good thing I can say about having sat through this disgraceful farce is that if Nasty, Rancid, Rotten, Stinky and Stupid have helped girls feel better about themselved, then that is to the good. I, however, can't stand the Spice Girls. Listen to Alanis Morrisette, Melissa Etheridge, Mariah Carey, Joni Mitchell or Ann Osborne instead. For girl power, the above women are the REAL talents and not the Spice Girls.
Rating: Summary: THEY CALL THIS MUSIC! Review: THE LAST SPICE GIRLS ALBUM "SPICE" WAS GOOD,NOW "SPICEWORLD" IS FREAKY.THE MOST FREAKIST SONG I EVER HEARD WAS "THE LADY IS A VAMP"."SPICE UP YOUR LIFE","DO IT" AND "MOVE OVER" IS VERY ODD AND THEY CALL THIS MUSIC.I GIVE 2 POINTS TO "TOO MUCH" CUZ IT'S A NICE SONG,BUT EVERY THING ELSE IS...FREAKY.
